a lot of people are thinking that dirk just died in the middle of it but imo with the context of the song I'm almost thinking that perhaps after Dirk had already died Jake had been really distraught and gotten high (or something along those lines) and had imagined him still alive and coming on to him, but when it wore off and he was actually in his right mind he was horrified because he'd realized he had been loving with Dirk's corpse. edit: going to mention the fact of how the song says "I swear, I am right here" for added emphasis to this theory.
