Alot of people have been asking why they can't change off performance mode. This means at some point in the past you changed your gameusersettings file to be read-only. You need to uncheck read-only on that file to be able to change your settings. The file will be in: %localappdata%\FortniteGame\Saved\Config\WindowsClient
remind people to also disable mouse acceleration and turn on read-only again, a lot of people still play with mouse acceleration cause it turns it back on without read-only
your tips are the most informative ones, but short to the point where’s it’s not boring, i love these videos, you should do more, i know there’s not much to cover, but these really help alot
As much as I loved doing this and experimenting, this helped a little tiny bit, definitely less input delay and lag when coming to changing the Boost thing from Off to On + Boost, thanks again Jack!
This is a very good and in depth video. One thing that is not completely accurate is the uncapped frame rate. Yes initially it will give better input delay, but you are essentially telling your Video Card that it MUST produce these high frame rates to operate. You will notice that your Gpu Temps will rapidly increase, and without the Gpu and intake fans running at max Rpm, in a period of 30 minutes or less you will start to lose Gpu processing power, in-turn decreasing fps and increasing input delay.
I personally use epic view dist and high textures on perf mode, as it still keeps the game looking nice with minimal performance impact, having a lower view distance does have an effect that you didnt mention in this video, which is distracting pop-in
Did you test all of these things also checking the 1% and .1% lows? Sometimes you will get higher fps and lower latency, but will not be stable. I would test it again if you didn’t factor these into your tests. Slightly higher latency and slightly lower fps will beat inconsistent latency and fps any day.
It depends on your gpu, amd users use dx12 not performance mode, performance mode is dx11, dx11 performance mode turns off multithreaded rendering causing your fps to drop by a couple hundred looking at cities or many builds.
@@TripleTXL I'm not too sure tbh, try both go into battle labs go to the same spot on the map somewhere like tilted or the bugle see what the fps is like on both, then see what it's like building, if you get roughly the same on both stay performance mode cos input delay is much much better, if dx12 is better by a long margin stay on that. uncapping frame rate makes your pc stutter more cause its using all of the extra power on it and making it able to go down to 2 fps when you hit like a stable 500
