I put the binds at the end of the video, however I DON'T recommend you copy them. There's a tonne of optimising I still need to do for non build / edit buttons.

For the people interested in switching binds, I can really recommend using side mouse buttons for builds, one build with pinky and then one with thumb (floor in my case) and then also edit with thumb. No thumb overload and full movement while building and editing. You can even have pickaxe and all weapons distributed on pinky/thumb/mouse (mouse being pickaxe on scroll wheel click in my case) so you really get optimal binds for the most important stuff without overloading.
@@mcxd2276 Are you in a position where you can buy a new mouse? Honestly just go for that, side mouse buttons are too nice for Fortnite. As someone who switched to optimal binds about three weeks ago (much like his, but almost exactly as Sly Jack’s video recommends) I can say it was *totally* worth it and the best thing I’ve ever done for my game. *Always* being able to hit *every* movement bind (including crouch and jump and mostly sprint) feels amazing, and allows me to fight in a much faster, more agile way. I would seriously recommend it to anyone who feels limited by their binds or just wants to break their current skill ceiling. Keep in mind, I had been using the same binds (really rather optimal already) for like 5 years before I switched. and by the way, I think Sly Jack’s ch 4 keybind video is spot on - I have *zero* complaints with the binds, and these may be virtually the only binds someone can say that with.
I switched to these too, tho I have one complaint. The problem with putting left and right strafe on one finger is that it's much harder to right-hand peek in my experience. Iv'e only been playing with these binds for about a week tho but do you also have this issue?
The wasq is genius, i didnt even think about changing that. I however just put edit on right click and aim on Alt (you dont need to jump and aim at the same time). Using one hand for editing is also easier for coordination. This is another way to optimize your binds if you dont want to change wasd
You still can't move in one direction when switching weapon slots/pickaxe, but it was extremely easy to get used to for me. After ~3 days (maybe 4 h each) I was already better than on my previous binds.
I have been using WASQ for 2-3 years now. It is really amazing to have the index finger free. I think I found this movement from an overwatch video at that time. However, the drawback effect is that I am not able to play WASD anymore, so I have to change the movement in all other video games now.
My PC has been in the shop for months now and I'm getting it back next week. I think returning to Fortnite with at least the Q bind to right will improve my movement tremendously. Thank you Reiss!

My binds are fantastic, the only problem is that I’m still dookie at fortnite🙃
@@Khalid-yn2zm update been using them for 3 months now and I'm not looking back. Perfect for editing and building and that's what matters most the time :)
ive been playing on the same basically default binds for years now but now i actually want to try to get good so ill try out some of the things you mentioned
If you're going to put in a lot of work then yes I believe it's better in the long run. I do however think the average person will be better on Controller though, so depends where your skill is at. Getting consistent with aim is the hardest part undoubtedly.
an alternative to the hold left click for faster builds is to just use it on right click. There’s no change in settings and if u don’t wanna use it then it won’t matter and it’s always there when u need
id like to say that right mouse tile select never used to give that aim glitch up until somewhat recently in which after so long i switched back to left click
I had this same problem around 3 months ago and looked for a solution. I came around to both that you mentioned, but I realized wasq wasn’t going to allow me to play other games, so I tried the martoz joystick. I loved it, although it was very difficult at first. I’d say I have improved and fixed the issues I once had. I do have one problem however. My turbo build has just stopped working. I don’t know why maybe it didn’t register properly with the game or whatever, but if I’m being sprayed, I cannot just hold left click to defend my self, and this makes life more difficult in a variety of ways. If anyone has a solution to this problem lmk, but overall great video and I highly recommend switching to this if you have the same problem
"but I realized wasq wasn’t going to allow me to play other games" I switch between other games with no problem and I don't use WASQ in those games. It's pretty natural, you won't be giving up anything on other games by switching on fortnite.
It might be because when you move the joystick the game inputs it as a controller, you can try turning lock input method as mouse on. If you tried that and it still doesn’t let you turbo build then idk bro
Low key I recommend playing a game without so many binds after/before fortnite. I play osu! and I enjoy just playing something knowing I don't have to optimize anything (you still can but I choose not to). It's like a cold glass of water in summer
Dunno if u will read this but for ur inventory on kbm just hold left alt and it will bring up ur inventory for as long as you press the button and disappear after u release it
so just for the first major thing, on pc at least, you can bind 2 keys to one function like editing. i found (if you dont wanna switch of wasd) you can bind it to your normal key and the bind the second one to something like v or b next to space, common for jumping too making it easy for jumping edits as well.
what i have for my builds is Q floor G cone and side mouse for ramp and wall, however where my movement comes into play is that i use my ring finger on W and there for when i want to slide left i have to put my ring finger all the way down diagonally onto my W and A at the same time. very awkward but ive learned how to deal with it and make the best of it
Ima Xbox SS KBM player I would’ve love using an analog stick but can’t sadly, so I just changed some Binds to be more optimal. My keybinds 👇🏾 Normal WASD Movement Wall (MB5) Floor (Shift) Stairs (MB4) Cone (E) Edit (V) . Personally, my idea of optimal binds are not only finding easier to press keys but also finding a balance for example, some fingers have too many buttons to press and others don’t
I have used a lot. including joystick and such. (before it was even possible. (I bound double movement bind keys to the joystick)). but my problem was that I couldn't counter strafe with a joystick. but that was probably my fault as I thought I also had to use the joystick in games like csgo when I could have probably be able to use both jostick in fn and wasd in csgo at the same time. I currently have bound place building to my wrist rest (not joking)
since chapter 2 season 3 I've used uhjk as move binds and to see someone else also use that side of the keyboard surprises me because I get called weird for using uhjk even though it's sorta similar to using esdf for move binds
also a lot of keyboards come with wasd or f and q special buttons that are angled and taller. i use the q on the v from a corshair keyboard to make the thumb movement a pull. and for reference: q is stair, e is wall, shift is cone and c is floor. regular wasd for movement. if you angle your keyboard a bit you can rotate your hand to hit stair while angle running left foward
Did this about 6 months ago and did find it was worth it in the long run I just swap between a different keyboard setting that i rebound and its been decent
Bro I literally use default binds except I switch pickaxe out form F to 1 and then I am hitting champions league div 9 arena every season sooooo I don’t think that it is that big of a deal what binds you use as long as you get good finger placement and good control of what you are doing then it’s all good! Taking in the fact that I play on a old laptop on 35-100 fps
How long have you been on keyboard and mouse and how long did it take to become somewhat ok at it like u would have been in controller coz I’m doing the switch and want to know what it’s like also what are your current binds
My keybinds aren’t really the best but what I did to fix the problem of not being to move right because of f being the edit button is changing the edit button to left shift. It kinda works but it makes other problems along the way
Most optimal binds are pl;' Right side of the keyboard is the most optimal. Jump with right control and edit with whatever the key to the left of it. This lets you move and edit using your thumb. Tho you do have to with a legel keyremapper to change those keys to up and down arrows. Its basically a modified bootyclap kc binds. M for floors. Wall and ramps on mouse. C change building materral. place build is both left and right mouse clicks. gun 2 is R, gun 3 is left shift, map is Tab, M is slide/crouch I use the redragon DIDi so it has one extra button. anyway B is menu. and A and V are just randoms. This set up allows you to edit, build, and hit any weapon all with strafing left and right so no loss of movement. actually now... because anyone can use double movement.. the razer tarturas which has an "analog" stick that is basically wasd. you will never ever mess up your strafe angle and get 4 extra binds to mess around with.
4:09 , I switch to right click for select edit years ago but then only played for a month before taking a break for a couple years. I have only noticed recently the ads problem it gives and its so annoying.
i have movement keys on esdf, i thought by myself that that was genius, but later seen a vibin jivan using same, anyways, to build ramp and floor y just use my pinky, due that u cant sprint while building, and i use g for wall and r for edit, i cant walk right with that binds, but due to the fact that there are the closest to movement, makes no sense to change them, cuz is the fastest way to build a wall to protect, also with edit on release, u can just edit fast and then move with f. If u have diagonal movement, your ch wouldn't change direction if u stop pressing right for a second, so for me is the best binds. I also have the build button on mouse 5, with that u get 0 delay between building and editing

nah.. liar. or spaghetti fingers.
thanks for the ideas! i use shoot as my F key so by using WASQ I can now make my shoot D and also be able to strafe right then shoot much faster! thanks so much!
why dont you shoot on mouse? lol
I think theres some keyboard on ur dust
The first clip gave me flashbacks to the 2020/2021 Reiss vids 🥲
this is a good insight on what to use and what not to use
this is the video i needed
W vid helps me keep up with the meta
CLEAN YO KEYBOARD MAH BOI lol
I use an Azeron Cyborg and absolutely love it. I still suck at fortnite but ever since being on pc and the azeron I decided for the same reasons you explained to make select tiles right mouse click and also reload. I also didn’t like having ADS on my mouse. Just wasn’t a fan of it. I have ads as an azeron button and I don’t have the issue of being stuck in ADS after editing 😃. My binds are fantastic, the only problem is that I’m still dookie at fortnite🙃
Finally someone who understands my weard binds
Thank you man now I have have perfected my binds
Been using these keybinds for 1 day and I really like them but the only set back is spaming crouch while strafing
Yea it’s good for editing and building but the movement is terrible when it comes to fighting
@@Khalid-yn2zm update been using them for 3 months now and I'm not looking back. Perfect for editing and building and that's what matters most the time :)
as a player with wierd keybinds, i recommend you playing with zqsd if youre on qwerty or wasd if youre on azerty
ive been playing on the same basically default binds for years now but now i actually want to try to get good so ill try out some of the things you mentioned
Reiss would you recommend to switch from controller to kbm ?
If you're going to put in a lot of work then yes I believe it's better in the long run. I do however think the average person will be better on Controller though, so depends where your skill is at. Getting consistent with aim is the hardest part undoubtedly.
@@Reisshub Thank u
an alternative to the hold left click for faster builds is to just use it on right click. There’s no change in settings and if u don’t wanna use it then it won’t matter and it’s always there when u need
swapping to right click place build, is so much faster. i can hold it while editing and just focus on editing with my left click.
@@okctrl exactly
Love your content bro but you gotta clean that keyboard
For me, setting edit bind to left alt is a happy medium for not using wasq
id like to say that right mouse tile select never used to give that aim glitch up until somewhat recently in which after so long i switched back to left click
clean that keyboard bro
Keep on the grind man love the content! I will definitely be trying out some of these binds
"but I realized wasq wasn’t going to allow me to play other games"
I switch between other games with no problem and I don't use WASQ in those games. It's pretty natural, you won't be giving up anything on other games by switching on fortnite.
It might be because when you move the joystick the game inputs it as a controller, you can try turning lock input method as mouse on. If you tried that and it still doesn’t let you turbo build then idk bro
@@Nisowyd ok thank you
@@Nisowyd thank you! sorry for the late reply but it worked! I switched the setting and now i can turbo build again. tysm
Low key I recommend playing a game without so many binds after/before fortnite. I play osu! and I enjoy just playing something knowing I don't have to optimize anything (you still can but I choose not to). It's like a cold glass of water in summer
Dunno if u will read this but for ur inventory on kbm just hold left alt and it will bring up ur inventory for as long as you press the button and disappear after u release it
Really optimal binds are for. Wall:Mouse button 5 Floor:L-shift. Stair:Mouse button 4. cone:V
so just for the first major thing, on pc at least, you can bind 2 keys to one function like editing. i found (if you dont wanna switch of wasd) you can bind it to your normal key and the bind the second one to something like v or b next to space, common for jumping too making it easy for jumping edits as well.
what i have for my builds is Q floor G cone and side mouse for ramp and wall, however where my movement comes into play is that i use my ring finger on W and there for when i want to slide left i have to put my ring finger all the way down diagonally onto my W and A at the same time. very awkward but ive learned how to deal with it and make the best of it
CLEAN YO KEYBOARD
CLEAN THAAT DAMN KEYBOARD
Doesn’t Noahreyli do that select edit thing too? I think it’s also supposed to be helpful for fighting while trying to hold a wall.
He has earned off so it happens automatically
Ima Xbox SS KBM player I would’ve love using an analog stick but can’t sadly, so I just changed some Binds to be more optimal.
My keybinds 👇🏾
Normal WASD Movement
Wall (MB5) Floor (Shift) Stairs (MB4) Cone (E) Edit (V)
.
Personally, my idea of optimal binds are not only finding easier to press keys but also finding a balance for example, some fingers have too many buttons to press and others don’t
Thanks for not only showing the good clips and give people false hope man!❤
I have used a lot. including joystick and such.
I currently have bound place building to my wrist rest (not joking)
clean your stuff
Bro clean that keyboard
Damn i just want to switch my movement keys to be on wasq and I know it will be a massive pain, but you switched every bind, and all at once
Do you recommend switching to these if you are about to switch from controller to keyboard and mouse?
since chapter 2 season 3 I've used uhjk as move binds and to see someone else also use that side of the keyboard surprises me because I get called weird for using uhjk even though it's sorta similar to using esdf for move binds
v edit... it doesnt hinder your jumping because you can hit both at the same time or just one and the space bar and v are right next to each other.
also a lot of keyboards come with wasd or f and q special buttons that are angled and taller. i use the q on the v from a corshair keyboard to make the thumb movement a pull. and for reference: q is stair, e is wall, shift is cone and c is floor. regular wasd for movement. if you angle your keyboard a bit you can rotate your hand to hit stair while angle running left foward
Did this about 6 months ago and did find it was worth it in the long run I just swap between a different keyboard setting that i rebound and its been decent
please clean your keyboard xd
Bro I literally use default binds except I switch pickaxe out form F to 1 and then I am hitting champions league div 9 arena every season sooooo I don’t think that it is that big of a deal what binds you use as long as you get good finger placement and good control of what you are doing then it’s all good! Taking in the fact that I play on a old laptop on 35-100 fps
How long have you been on keyboard and mouse and how long did it take to become somewhat ok at it like u would have been in controller coz I’m doing the switch and want to know what it’s like also what are your current binds
I use my 2 side mouse buttons for my shotgun and my edit bind. And use my scroll wheel as scroll through my inventory
use shift for edit and q-e for ramp wall and mouse 4-5 for floor cone and shotgun on G since ui can use ur thumb and pickaxe on scroll up or down
I love your videos
Enjoyable and interesting video… but goddam u need a keyboard hover/ clean ur keyboard
Clean yo damn keyboard
My keybinds aren’t really the best but what I did to fix the problem of not being to move right because of f being the edit button is changing the edit button to left shift. It kinda works but it makes other problems along the way
dude, you're the "The Gaming Merchant" of fortnite
ive been doing it for around a year now and its really good
Most optimal binds are pl;' Right side of the keyboard is the most optimal. Jump with right control and edit with whatever the key to the left of it. This lets you move and edit using your thumb. Tho you do have to with a legel keyremapper to change those keys to up and down arrows. Its basically a modified bootyclap kc binds. M for floors. Wall and ramps on mouse. I have a 5 side button mouse so i have interact and cone on my thump. Weapon slots around my movement keys. I've always wanted to make a video about playing on the right side of the keyboard but my pc is dog water rn so i cant play lol
4:05 its fine if u dont believe me but there's no bug it's just very difficult to get the timing consistent to where u dont do it anymore
@@matthiasmcauley4819 no, i play arena on 60
@@matthiasmcauley4819 and not saying it to be a ahole just to inspire those who made a good choice to switch to rightclick builds but might be discouraged when they get ADS because it is annoying it took me over a year to not do it anymore
I, unlike u, did switch to the gmk joystick, its been 2 weeks and mechs are great but its the map, inv, croutch etc that im not used to yet. i feel u
well....its about damn time someone else uses wasq.. but I use esdw just for the extra two binds. Myself and slyjack have been doing this for a long time. .. I use D for edit, middle mouse shotgun I play with a 213 grip, builds are caps lock cone, G floor, mouse 4 wall, mouse 5 ramp. C change building materral. place build is both left and right mouse clicks. gun 2 is R, gun 3 is left shift, map is Tab, M is slide/crouch I use the redragon DIDi so it has one extra button. anyway B is menu. and A and V are just randoms. This set up allows you to edit, build, and hit any weapon all with strafing left and right so no loss of movement. actually now... because anyone can use double movement.. the razer tarturas which has an "analog" stick that is basically wasd. you will never ever mess up your strafe angle and get 4 extra binds to mess around with.
bro has the dustiest keyboard ever
I tried the right click for selecting edits in chapter two but was so put off by ads bug but if they somehow fix it I would 100 percent go back
Controller players: 👁👄👁
