Andrei Gillo it's not because of weight reduction, when you turn on the AC it takes power away from the alternator, reducing a bit of hp
@James Franko see your engine runs on a belt that powers the alternator, water pump, etc and the air compressor. When you turn your AC on the air compressor runs, taking power away from the engine because it's connected all on the same drive belt.
@James Franko yeah, its just of the AC is on or off. Like even if it the fan is on but AC is off it won't take up hp. It's not a large difference however probably only like 5 hp
