Your friend can do his parenthesis method but after doing what's inside the parenthesis, he's supposed to drop them Ie when he solves (-10 * 10), you get -100, drop the parenthesis. If he wanted to keep the parenthesis, it's redundant, because there's a positive sign in front which you multiply into the bracket. (aka u add to the left term) so it's 10 +(-100) + 10. Multiplying 10(-100) is just wrong sorry 😅 he was using the distributive rule wrong unfortunately
@@Exilum nah its not but uni would've given them a reminder in calc 1/2. otherwise seems they dont really need after high school (although it is basic algebra...)
@@derp3044 I guess so. It just feels weird to see how often I see people in the English-speaking world not know the order of operations. Is pemdas not taught in primary schools? That's when you learn the order of operations and fractions, right? Or is it different in the US?
@@Exilum I'm Canadian myself but u can graduate high school without doing too well in math. PEMDAS is taught but many just forget or in this case it seems they are confused, perhaps haven't used in a while or weren't taught properly
Funniest comment section I’ve ever had
10-10x10+10
1. Multiplication: 10x10 = 100
2. Subtraction (left to right rule): 10-100=-90
3. Addition: -90+10 = -80
Mathmatcian GOING CRAZY!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥
@@Justthatguyalex knowing pemdas makes you a mathematician
chat addition comes first
Yes I got that right straight away. And I'm 26 now.
That's so easy I still remember that from middle school bruh.
being able to do this instantly made me feel like calc this semester has paid off
2:50 in, I'm already mad
best 825 view video ever. Def gonna blow up on the algorithm.
I've been here in the early days.

Also on my for you page 😂 in cs/ce
Oh no this hurt my brain to watch 🥲🥲🥲 I thought I was bad at math but I guess you guys didn't do too well in calc or didn't need it for uni 😅
💀
It's not uni level 😭
