English Garden May 2024 Tour | English Country Garden | Walled Garden

Hi and Welcome to the channel and my garden,
I haven't done as many gardening videos as I would of liked but hopefully this year I will get a few more filmed. My garden is a English Walled Garden but also wildlife friendly, wild, shady, full sun, Woodland, complete shade and is used for relaxing, homegrown, a chickens home, we have a pond and also it has to be dog friendly! I like to work with nature and do not use any pesticides or herbicides and I have tried to form a biodiverse garden where it all works together even the Lilly beetle has a predator! When we first moved in, the garden was surrounded by huge overgrown trees even some which had fallen or rotted, the middle of the garden was basically dead except for one small Rose which we still have in the veg garden next to the Acer and on the edges where sunlight did reach were masses of Brambles again I have kept some of these. it took me a few months to clear it and then we got Chickens and they basically ate whatever was left! Over the years (we have been here for nearly 9 years) the chickens slowly had less space but still enough for them to be free and I have planted but also let plants seed themselves. Instead of reading books about other peoples garden all which are different to mine and while great for getting tips and learning the basics why not learn for yourself let the garden and plants tell you what is best for them you will learn so much more. Of course this will not work if you want a nice manicured garden but if you are prepared for it to look a bit wild and what some might think a bit scruffy let nature take it's course with just a little guidance from yourself. This is also great for wildlife, while it may not look like it from the videos there is only one other garden which is my neighbours & there is a large parking area then we are surrounded by a factory so lots of concrete however our garden is always covered with birdsong and insects unfortunately in decline but I think I do my best to help and be that vital wildlife corridor.
