- “How do you have sex?” “How did you have your baby?” “He is really rich?” “I don’t get it.” These are all questions that RUclipsrs Winston and Mayfair @TheClements get regularly from people online and IRL, despite them living a full, enriched life together as an inter-abled couple.
This is their story of how they work through that and how they’d like to be the change they want to see in the future for inter-abled couples.
Love Against The Odds is a new digital series that celebrates and shines a light on love stories across the UK. These couples have overcome prejudice, trauma, struggles and misunderstanding show that even when the odds are stacked against them, love can conquer all.

He’s a very strong man. I have muscular dystrophy, my son is 5 now and climbing all over my chair, but I’ll never forget him being about 1 years old and having to tell him that daddy couldn’t pick him up at that moment. Omg, just thinking about it still makes me tear up. But yea this brother is a very strong man.

The fact that people think something is wrong with being with someone with a disability is a huge problem! That's as good as saying that he is less of a human because of a disability he was born with! This couple is happy, thriving and productive. Why can't people just put their prejudices aside?

Not everyone is attracted to tall and muscly. A lot of people find intelligence attractive, a good looking face, eyes, personality, humour, inner strength, kindness. All things he clearly has. She seems very sweet and genuine. She knows she's going to have a happy life with this guy and that he's an amazing father. This whole thing shouldn't even be a conversation.

I know an inter-abled couple. The husband's condition is like Winston's and the wife is blind. They have 3 kids and her mom helps out when/if it's necessary. Kudos to boundless love 💕

I'm so glad that I had found their RUclips channel and I watched them because you can see the genuine love that they have for each other. Winston is an amazing husband and he has always surprising her with dates and fun things to do. They are enjoying their life and they're cute together and I understand the initial shock sometimes when you see them but if people gave them even half a chance they would love them as much as most of us do.
We need to redefine what a husband is and what his roles are - protect the family, bring the money, bring the prey, etc.
As a PWD who sometimes wonders will love ever find me this definitely gives me hope. It’s difficult at times to believe that someone, especially an attractive able bodied woman, can see past my limits and see the heart and all the wonderful things I offer …. For me , the relationship is a no brainer, they love each other and have built a life. I was only curious about two things - parking in London (challenging) but problem solved if they are moving to the US and the other, over 200 fractures sound painful. My bestie has a condition with constant pain, I don't know how she does it, so I can't help but feel a large amount of empathy towards someone managing to have a full life and pain. Hope their next adventure is awesome!
