I'm German and she reminds me so much of my beloved mom. My 85 year old mom still rides her bike everywhere, grows her own veggies, works out at the gym twice a week, flies to the US once a year by herself (because that's where I live, she stays with me for 2 months every year). She is so incredibly fit, independent, and full of wisdom, just like this lady.

I admire this woman so much. My grandmother lived just like this. Never had a bathroom in her home and had an outhouse, But she did have running water but never had hot water. She bathed by running water into her sink, added hot water . Locked all the doors, closed the blinds and did all necessary bathing and washing hair that way. She also lived in a tiny house that had been a garage. She was awesome. She had no money but mom and dad bought he a TV at some point. She taught me everything about living frugally along with mom and dad who had lived during the depression. Because of those lessons I was always able to save money and I am now retired and living very comfortably. We all need to pay attention to the old ways because you never know what the future holds and should be prepared for all changes

Anything can happen in life and I want to be as well prepared as possible.
I do want running water. I want to be able to shower to be entirely clean. It is not easy to get as clean by sponge bathing. I do want water catchment from rain water and I do hope to live off grid with solar. No bills & living free! Agree?

I have plans to live in the wild using almost only natural resources. I just need a small passive income to be able to do this with some security and because i have a child. You go girl! I did the exact same thing, but I built my house out of metal. It's all welded together so it won't burn and does well in heavy weather.I also began my work at age 62 and it took me about six months before I could actually lives inside. I'm 72 now and even though the house is done, I have added on with porches and awnings on all four sides, an outdoor kitchen and, long story short, it's never done. That said, I enjoy it and would have it no other way. My house is not mobile, but I own the land free and clear.

Well done. I really enjoyed seeing what you have done and will make some improvements to my own place soon. I am 65, live in a 12x20 on a one acre lot, carry spring water, use a compost toilet, shower and do laundry at my mother's next door. I do have electric for running an air conditioner as it gets very warm here in the summer.
I use propane for heat in the winter. This is my third year since moving here to look after her. There is no rent or mortgage payment, only my electric bill and the expense of my pickup truck which is paid for by my driving. I live on my social security and a part-time job driving for the Amish. An Amish friend has given me a 16x20 building that I can have for the cost of moving it. It will be a woodworking shop. God has been good to me and I feel blessed.

Im 43 yrs old and I live alone with a dream of building a tiny house or even a conversion that I will live in till my dying day. I'd love to live in a like minded community. So far I've been watching and learning about tiny homes and conversions for the last 3 yrs. The reality is I don't know anyone that would help me to fulfill my dream. That is unless I've got a lot of money and unfortunately I'm on a budget like most folks. But someday I know I will live my dream just as this young lady lives hers.
