Wayfarer continues to make amazing albums and I was really impressed with Blackbraid's quick turnaround.
The rest of the list is excellent and you guys have great taste! Really looking forward to more reviews in 2024.
Thanks bud! Happy new year! I’m so glad wayfarer really found their sound on this one
@@forgemastermetal agreed. I loved a Romance With Violence, but this one was pretty amazing.
There were 4 that really stood out to me this year.
Dodheimsgard - this album is a trip, but holy crap is it good. The first song alone is worth the listen.
Notturno - you guys turned me onto this one. What a banger.
Valdrin - Kind of long, but the runtime just flies by.
Crystal Coffin - these guys do really great concept albums.
Yeah, buddy! Dodheimsgard is WILD.
How cool that I got you to thank for introducing me to Notturno and Wayfarer. Truly amazing bands and albums!
Glad you dug them man! Happy new year!
A Journey Told Through Fire by Sworn and Krystal-Ah by Mephorash are absolute masterpieces imo, no other black metal album this year comes close to them
That Sworn album is incredible! It almost slipped off my radar at first.
Nice additions!
Love the albums on this list. I struggle to call Thy Catafalque black metal on more recent albums, which is why it doesn't make my list, but It's an amazing album from one of my favorite bands. Death metal definitely won this year but as black metal is my favorite metal genre it was my most listened to. Here are my favorites of the year.
1. Mesarthim - Arrival (atmospheric black metal/trance)
2. Blackbraid - Blackbraid II (atmospheric black metal/melodic black metal)
3. Bizarrekult - Den Tapte Krigen (progressive post-black metal)
4. Panopticon - The Rime of Memory (atmospheric black metal/folk)
5. Olde Throne - In the Land of Ghosts (atmospheric black metal)
6. Iravu - A Fate Worse Than Home (atmospheric black metal)
7. Hellripper - Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags (blackened thrash/speed metal)
8. Bríi - Último Ancestral Comum (atmospheric black metal/lo-fi house)
9. Cursebinder - Drifting (avant-garde black metal: black metal/post-rock/shoegaze/progressive metal)
10. Morwinyon - Wastelands (atmospheric black metal)
I know what you mean with Thy Catafalque. Can't put them in death metal though lol so this was the only list I could fit them in. Love your additions here, Forgemate.
I am really fucking happy to see Sea Mosquito in at least one best of 2023 list. When it comes to the weird/avant-garde/experimental side of black metal, Igitur was second only to Thantifaxath's sinister Hive Mind Narcosis.
Of the album's you guys mentioned, Liber Lvcifer II and Blackbraid II also made my list.
Other black metal releases I enjoyed last year:
• Panopticon - The Rime of Memory
• Downfall of Gaia - Silhouettes of Disgust
• Blut Aus Nord - Disarmonium: Nahab
• None - Inevitable
• Pénitence Onirique - Nature Mort
• Torture Chain - The Reign of Deimos
• Outlaw - Reaching Beyond Assiah
• Asagraum - Veil of Death, Ruptured
• Oak Pantheon - The Absence
• Non Est Deus - Legacy
Awesome additions, Forgemate!!
My favourites this year were:
Sworn - A Journey told through Fire (so underrated)
Blackbraid - Blackbraid II (no surprise here, managed to overcome Blackbraid debut album)
Olde Throne - In the Land of Ghost (that quite raw black metal that I usually dont dig but this one is insanely good and melodic, plus some traditional instruments make the difference, pipes and folk instruments)
AFSKY - Om hundrede år (this is brutal and depressing at the same time, but the melodies are fire)
Crystal Coffin - The Curse of Immortality (this blew me away right from the first minute! So good! Give this one a chance! What a good surprise!)
Miserere Luminis - Ordalie (very specific sound with intense moments and also very atmospheric in some parts, not the best of this list and is definitely one that grows with the time)
shou out to Downfall of Gaia - Silhouettes of Disgust though this its not totally black metal but a mix of a lot of things but the album is so good!
Fantastic choices, Forgemate!! Thanks for those descriptions, too.
I've just gotten the new Borknagar for review. Man, what an awesome start of the year! Can't wait to hear your take.
That’s easily a most anticipated of 2024 for me. Cannot wait.
@@forgemastermetal You won't be disappointed! There's a lot of novelty there (Vortex is finding his new voice). Plus the album features probably the best lead guitar work in Borknagar's history.
And hopefully a tier list
Howdy fellas.. I'm bigger on death metal than black metal, but I keep an open mind, of course. I've previously set aside the Hellripper, Blackbraid and Wayfarer albums to check out and I'll get to them in due time. From the samples, Thy Catafalque and Moonlight Sorcery sounded pretty good. I'd imagine you've checked out Enslaved's 'Heimdal'? Lots of love for that album. I don't know them very well, but yes, very unique sound. Have you had a chance to check out the albums from Thulcandra and Tetragrammacide? I prefer the latter as it's heavy af, but well.. we all only have so much time to check out tunes. Cheers.
Enslaved Heimdal honestly should’ve been on here, fantastic record.
If you liked Heimdal, definitely scope their more modern discography from RITTIR on.
As always fantastic round up. I love Thy Catafalque, but missed this one. I did get into the Moonlight Sorcery, Panopticon, Hellripper, and Wayfarer which were all fantastic. Also on my list of missed, and need to catch, is the Malokarpatan release.
You're gonna dig Alfold, for sure!
You guys really need to check out Deadspace from Australia. Masterfully written dsbm with small glimpses of hope as if to say not all is lost. Gravity and The Liquid Sky are absolute perfect, no skip albums. Anything from these guys is amazing though.
Thanks for the recs! Those sound right up our alley. Question: are their songs derivative of Deadspace lore?
I’ve wondered this myself but I haven’t played the games so I can’t really say
if there's a album that I personally would put on this list, it's going to be Midnight Odyssey : Biolume, Pt 3 A Fullmoon Madness. this album is just a full on journey through space and time with killing drums, fast awesome riffs, heavenly vocals and super cool and relaxing atmosphere through out the album. would highly recommend!
Thanks for the video. A few I missed so I’ll check them out!
My top black metal albums that weren’t on your list are (not in any order)
1) Dodheimsgard (plenty mentioned in the comments)
2) Anti-God Hand - Blight Year
3) Kostenai - Úpal
4) Liturgy - 93639
5) Hasard - Malivore
6) Henget - Beyond North Star
7) Malokarpartan - Caesar
8) Panopticon - Rime of Memory
9) Mesarthim - Arrival
10) Yello Eyes- Master’s Murmer
11) Jute Gyte - Undus Mundus Patet
12) Thantifaxath - Hive Mind Neurosis
Bonus album lower on my list
- Firienholt - white frost and elder blood
Thanks for the awesome year. Y’all (and the community)have helped me discover music now that I’m in a time of my life where I can’t spend as much time doing that!
Looking forward to 2024!
Thanks for leaving a fantastic list! Make 2024 your best one yet!
too late in the year to make it into any of my end of the year lists, but for the last weeks, I've been absolutely in love with "Passage II" by Antrisch.
Putting the atmosphere back into atmospheric black metal, especially if you can understand the (brilliant btw) german lyrics.
I like the new Sworn, not as much a lot of other people apparently, but still a good candidate IMO.
The new Faidra is also worth mentioning. Not sure if I like it as much as their fantastic debut, but it definitely checks all the same boxes and will continue to stay in my playlist for 2024.
Barely Black Metal, but there's screams and some blastbeats, the new Heretoir is great as well.
I've never been able to really get into Panopticon, but the new one is an exception. What an album! If it hadn't been for Wayfarer, Panopticon for sure would've been my #1 Black Metal album for 2023.
Fantastic additions here. That Heretoir record was super cool, indeed.
Thank you for introducing me to Notturno. I'm loving it so far. Another great black metal album I missed last year was Vargrav - The Nighthold. Btw, if you would like to see my list of my Top 15 Favorite albums of 2023, check out our RUclips channel called The Great Metal Debate. Our latest video titled "Episode 77" is the list. We tend to put mainstream metal albums in our honorable mentions and then our favorites are usually either underground or lesser known bands.
Great list guys, it was a good year for Black Metal regardless of which blend of BM you lean towards. Since you mentioned Post-Black I'd say you need to give Heretoir - Nightsphere a spin. Loved the emotion and the soundscape they created this year. They also released the EP Wastelands which contained one of my favorite songs of the whole year. Keep up the work boys, love every episode.
Appreciate you tuning in and leaving your pick, as always!
Great year for black metal and black metal adjacent. My top 20 bm for 2023
1. Evoking Winds - Bald Mountain (epic black metal)
2. Midnight Odyssey - Biolume Part 3: A Fullmoon Madness (epic black metal)

13. Crystal Coffin - The Curse of Immortality (melodic black metal)
14. Aeon Winds - Night Sky Illuminations (atmospheric black metal)
15. Ringare - Of Momentus Endless Night (atmospheric black metal)
16. Illvilja - Where No Sorrow Dwells (atmospheric black metal)
17. Cursebinder - Drifting (black metal)
18. Immortal - War Against All (black metal)
19. Blackbraid - II (melodic black metal)
20. Graveworm - Killing Innocence (melodic black metal)
Solid list here, Forgemate!! Appreciate the inclusion of the subgenres. That's always really important.
On my EOY list the black metal (and black metal adjacent) albums were:
Blackbraid - Blackbraid II
Wayfarer - American Gothic
Begotten - To the Dreary End
Moonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle
Hellripper - Warlocks Grim & Withered Hags
Non Est Deus - Legacy
Valdrin - Throne of the Lunar Soul
Spirit Possession - Of the Sign
Lamp of Murmuur - Saturnian Bloodstorm
Panopticon - The Rime of Memory
Solid list right there, Forgemate!
Hey guys. I haven't heard everything on that list but Wayfarer is up for AOTY for me. Other than that the Lamp Of Murmuur, Blackbraid and Hellripper are in my top 10 favorite Black Metal releases for the year. Also on the list Non Deus Est - Legacy, Keep of Kalessin - Katharsis, Antrisch - Expedition II: Die Passage, Enslaved - Hemidal, Panopticon - The Rime of Memory. That said I didn't listen to that much black metal comparatively to 2022 so I probably missed some interesting stuff.
Absolutely stellar list my dude. Enslaved was SO good.
Awesome list, keep up the good work lads
Appreciate you tuning in!!
Moonlight Sorcery was one of my Favorite albums this year along with Hell Ripper🤘🤘
Amazing stuff!!
Some of my favourite black metal albums of the year include Malokarpatan’s newest album, Hellripper’s newest (although I consider it more of a thrash record), Dødheimsgard’s new album and the new album from Québécois collective Miserere Luminis featuring members from the depressive black metal bands Gris and Sombret Forêts that is their first in like, 12 years!
Hell yeah man nice collection there. I’ll have to scope that last one, sounds right up my alley.
My black metal AOTY top 3:
1) Wayfarer - American Gothic
2) Valdrin - Throne of the Lunar Soul (great melodic black metal band)
3) Notturno - Inside
Thank You for yours monthly best of lists - I discovered many awesome band for them, keep up the good work! :)
Cool to see Notturno make your list man!
Thantifaxath - Hive Mind Narcoses.
Great album that came out in June, great listen!
Notturno was one of the best discoveries for me this year and I need to thank you guys for that one. Other top black metal for me this year - Nornir (check them out if you haven't), Helleruin, Violet Cold, Aodon, Abstract Void, Cloak, and Spirit Possession.
Great additions there, Forgemate!
For me
1. Dodheimsgard - black medium current
2. Malokarpatan Vertumnus Caesar
3. Mephorash - krystl - ah
4. Enslaved - heimdal
5. hellripper warlocks grim & withered hags
Hell yeah dude, Enslaved was so good.
Mephorash is amazing
My favorite black metal album only came out the 21 of december, Hermalausaz by Árstíðir Lífsins. An amazing sense of atmosphere and an impressive ability to weave a narrative through the two long songs on it. The fact that it is in Icelandic only helps sell the atmosphere, black metal in Icelandic just works so well.
Arstidir Lifsins are excellent. Their releases in 2020/2021 really grabbed me. Such great storytellers!
Amazing record!
Gonna have to scope that one!
Wayfarer is the BM album of the year for me, no doubt!
runner up is Night Crowned - Tales
and Sodomisery - Mazzaroth also deserves a mention
Blackbraid II is also one of the best BM albums of 2023
Nightcrowned was awesome!
Gteat list! Have you guys listened to Spirit Possession? They released a new one in 2023 and its amazing!
I think that one eluded us!
One I literally just found I like a lot. And I think is very much in yalls wheelhouse is Marthe's "Futher Into Evil."
Blackbraid is my top of 2023. And the new Worm tracks.
Thanks for that suggestion! It's wild how much stuff is released in a year's time.
I love me some experimental black metal. That's why Alföld, Earth Will Shed Its Skin and Igitur were some of my favorite albums last year.
Yuussssss. Right there with ya, Forgemate.
Ive dipped my toe into a bit of Black Metal and black influenced stuff too this year. Enslaved was my favourite, followed by Hellripper. Liked the majority of the Blackbraid and Fen albums. Have to give Wayfarer another listen. Didnt grab me on one liaten.Just played the Moonlight Sorcery album... Amazing stuff. Right up my alley. Cheers gents.
Thanks for sharing!! Lots of great stuff to pick from this year.
Thanks for the video brothers of metal! Im so picky with my black metal that there were only a few lol
1. Moonlight Sorcery - Horned Lord of the Thorned Castle (5th overall for metal in general)
2. Hellripper - Warlock Grim & Withered Hags (13th overall)
3. Immortal - War Against All
4. Been getting into Ceremonial Castings - Our Journey Through Forever (2022 but what an amazing album!)
Ceremonial Castings is such a great band. That’s Jake (from Uada) and his brothers black metal band from forever ago. A killer discography.
@@forgemastermetal yes sir and a side note, Nick (Jakes brother) is my neighbor lol he also released another fantasic project "Mysticism Black - Return to the Bestial Flame"! Keep it metal brother 🤘
Lol that's awesome. Tell him Brandon said hi. I used to play Diablo 2 with Nick all the time back in the day. Cheers!
@@forgemastermetal will do and man so many good memories playing Diable 2 🔥
@@scottiematthews5932 Remastered is SO good.
Awesome list - everything substantial for BM scene in 2023 gets at least a mention. I especially dig that you admit that this year had loads of solid records, but very few hitting the edge of perfection. I personally would include Dodheimsgard and Blut Aus Nord (both mentioned in the video) - but yeah they too are just solid releases, not perfect.
Thanks for picking up on that nuance. A lot of people think these are PERFECT across the board. VERY few bands put out something perfect this year.
Some of my favourites this year not on your list was Miserere Luminis - "Ordalie" and from the more symphonic side, Night Crowned - "Tales" and Sodomisery - "Mazzaroth". Oh, and Cursebinder, which I was introduced to from this channel!
Cool to see those make your list man!
Exelente comentario, grandes bandas
Awesome list! My top five black metal albums of 2023 are:
1. Enslaved, "Heimdal"
2. ...and Oceans, "As In Gardens, So In Tombs"
3. Hellripper, "Warlocks Grim And Withered Hags"
4. Valdrin, "Throne Of The Lunar Soul"
5. Keep Of Kalessin, "Katharsis"
Awesome list!
My stand out Black Metal albums for 2023 were -
1. Blackbraid - Blackbraid II
2. Sworn - A Journey Told Through Fire
3. Asagraum - Veil Of Death, Ruptured
Sworn really took me by surprise and almost beat Blackbraid and the new Asagraum is very solid.
Great records!
Ngl, I’m shocked to not see Panopticon, Thantifaxath, and Dødheimsgard. If you guys haven’t checked these out, you absolutely have to!
Heard em. They ain’t grab us as much as these but they are really good!
NONE - Inevitable was my favorite album of the year. We’ve been spoiled as a community with tons of great material over the last few years. Metal in general is the only genre of music that is actually getting better over time than other genres and I’m loving it.
Yea, it's unmistakable how much good stuff is out there!
Great List guys, as always:
Here's mine:
1. Mānbryne - Interregnum
2. Dominance - Slaughter of Human Offerings in the New Age of Pan
3. Fen - Monuments to Absence
4. Sühnopfer - Nous Sommes d'Hier
That Fen album was great!
Manbryne album Is excellent!!
...And Oceans most recent release I think is one of the AOTY candidates.
Great album!
Faidra’s Militant. Penitent. Triumphant is one of my favorite of the year, with “Punishment Nailed Deep” being my favorite black metal song of the year. It’s like Burzum without the cringey asshole behind it
Awesome! Gonna have to scope that.
Another awesome show! Well done and thanks guys! Here are 8 albums that I loved this year, in alphabetical order...
Blackbraid - II
Cursebinder - Drifting
Dodheimsgard - Black Medium Current
Enterré Vivant - Shigenso
Fathomage - Autumn's Dawn, Winter's Darkness
Non Est Deus - Legacy
None - Inevitable
Sworn - A Journey Told Through Fire
Some great records on there, Forgemate! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks@@forgemastermetal You are most welcome! 🤘🤘
Don't get this Blackbraid album but here are my Top 3:
1. Dodheimsgard - "Black Medium Current"
2. Trhä - "rhejde qhaominvac tla aglhaonamëc"
3. Ginnungagap - "Heliacal Arising"
What don't you get about it?
I feel like I didn't listen to a ton of black metal this year. But new Wayfarer, Blackbraid, Spirit Possession, and And Oceans were all stellar. Ulthar's double drop probably falls more as blackened death metal, but them too if it fits
Those are all great records from '23, Forgemate.
From someone who's not really into black metal (more of a thrash, death, prog, and "everything technical" guy), Atavistia, Frozen Dawn, and Carnation have been AWESOME albums!
Carnation was SICK
Yes on Wayfarer and Blackbraid!! Love those bands
Yeah buddy! American black metal at its finest.
DHG - Black Medium Current should be on the list
Very cool record!
Oh, Enslaved is going on tour with Wayfarer. Now that's a lineup you cannot miss!
I didn’t know that! I gotta check that out.
From a purely artistic point of view, the DHG/Dødheimsgard album gets my vote, but more often I prefer my black metal as aggressive and to the point as possible, and for that purpose, the Minenwerfer 'Feuerwalzer' album does the trick for me. Listening to that album is like being caught by mortar fire with shrapnel raining all over you. Brutal stuff.. 😎
That sounds like an intense album! Thanks for the suggestion.
@@forgemastermetal Just don't expect great variation or cute melodies.. but DO prepare to get your ears carpet bombed into oblivion.. 💀💀🤗
Excellent list. I started getting more into black metal - particularly American Black Metal - and you’ve added more to my list.
“American Gothic” by Wayfarer is stellar as is “The Rime of Memory” by Panopticon from this year.
Which one of these are you most excited to check out?
@@forgemastermetal- Definitely Blackbraid II. The incorporation of Native American elements into black metal is really intriguing and the sample you guys played was amazing!
You'll dig it! And when you do, be sure to check out Nechochwen.
No Panopticon? What the hell, brah’s!? Great shit on here though. I recently started writing bitesize reviews for Metal Digest and got to do Moonlight Sorcery, great album
Unfortunately Panopticon came out at a time where we were VERY caught up with other things. I'm sure it's awesome!
I only got after on CD its pretty good =)
- Uada, Crepuscule natura
- Blackbraid, II
- Pénitence onirique, Nature morte
- None, Inevitable
Forgemate!! Awesome addition with Uada.
I want a physical copy of Horned Lord, but sweet baby Jesus (Satan? I'll go with sweet baby Satan) is it expensive in the states. I'm not about that digi life. Need to add to my collection.
Keep up the good work, fellas!
International shipping prices are friggin insane!
Sure are!@@forgemastermetal
These bands need a puppy and a hug.
I think we all do
Blackbraid for sure. Hellripper and one not featured here. Nyrst
Very cool!
Love y’all! Been a black metal fan for about 10 years now. Burzum and Dissection got me into it. Oh and Trump 2024 💪🏻🇺🇸
What are your fav newer black metal bands?
Please add time stamps
We already do enough my dude. Add em as you go for others and be a bro for the community.
@@forgemastermetal Savage but the only right answer
Marduk - Memento Mori!!!
Nice!
They were the most clicked, but not the best all of them. The trend is there....
So add some for other people to check out, cool guy
@@forgemastermetal I detected well when it comes to you guys. Seems freedom of opinion is not welcome here. Well, it is your choice. not mine. Have a good day.
It is, just don’t bristle up when you get negativity dished back at you.
@@forgemastermetal Your the first person who was negative. Like i said, it is your choice. My choice from now on is to look somewhere else for reviews, were people are nicer and do not jump into conclusions or take it badly without any reasons. I just said there was a trend, and got insulted for that. Your the one with the problem. 💩
You won’t be missed dude. People like you are a dime a dozen. Later cool guy. 🤙
Why the background music is like electronic? Hahaha.
It’s fun? We like electronic music. Plus it makes the clips stand out in contrast
Half of the albums is totally not black metal.
Why don't you enlighten us and leave your super cool list, cool guy?
Not “pure” black metal. As someone who appreciates the beauty, aggression, inciting nature of black metal, seeing it expand and serve as a foundation for other genres is super exciting.
We can appreciate BOTH 🤘
And black metal has become the rigid tyrannical genre it was meant to rebel against. What’s more metal than bucking the traditional black metal scene 🤷♂️
@@forgemastermetalThat’s what I would have said too LOL 😂 All of these albums are Black Metal but with so many different elements going on and the production on these records are absolutely phenomenal. I loved Mānbryne - Interregnum: O Próbie Wiary i Jarzmie Zwątpienia (I have no idea how to pronounce all of that LMAO 🤣) and that Tsjuder was pretty good but I would pick Downfall of Gaia over Tsjuder’s Helvegr because of the diversity, the vocals, production, song structure and overall just bringing something different to the table. Every album on this list y’all picked are my favorite Black Metal albums of 2023 and now we are ready to get an avalanche of new albums for 2024 🫶🏻🥁 😎👌🏻🤘🏼😬🎸💿👊🏼
Tell me you're an elitist gatekeeper without telling me you're an elitist gatekeeper.
@@forgemastermetalhe disappeared:(
Nice list. Some that I've listened and a few I still need to check out.
There were so damn many albums this year that could easily be on any list, so it was extremely hard to choose ten albums. But this time my ten picks for black metal of 2023 is
-Ofnus - Time Held Me Grey And Dying
-Ruïm - Black Royal Spiritism - I - O Sino da Igreja
-Marthyrium - Through The Spheres Of Darkness
-Immortal - War Against All
-Marduk - Memento Mori
-Árstiđir Lifsins - Hermalausaz
-Corpus Necromanthum - He...Who Suffers Knowledge
-Helrfó - Tálgröf
-Serpent Of Old - Ensemble Under The Dark Sun
-Servant - Aetas Ascensus
Awesome man. What did you love about the immortal record? For a lot of people they didn’t really dig it. Curious your thoughts
@@forgemastermetal yaeh well, I just think Demonaz has done a great work continuing with Immortal. It's still cold, fast, it has it's own feeling and emotions. I just dig it, man. To me it's perfect for gym and/or for a walks in a (wintry) forest.
Okay, albums. But at what minute is it gonna be about black metal?
When you drop your spectacular music taste in the comments instead of being an elitist dork.
First!
Also if I don't see Moonlight Sorcery, I will be personally offended as it's my favorite 😂
Well shit, it's the first! Nice guys!
lol! Like minds! 🤙🤘😊
Blackbraid, the normie black metal for people who don’t actually listen to black metal. Can’t take anything else serious after they are on a list.
User name checks out. No one cares dude, you suck lol
Still no love for Kostnatění - Úpal?
SMH 😖
You could just suggest the band for others to enjoy my dude.
All of your takes are pretty short, do you guys really need to read from a script?
Why do you even care? We listen to hundreds of albums and the bands deserve well thought out responses. We plan our material well ahead of time.
It’s a hobby. If it annoys you, that’s a you problem.
@forgemastermetal I care because the benefit of a video is eye contact and a more loose, conversational approach. I do review videos too. I find it much more approachable to review your notes in chunks and then riff a bit while making eye contact. Otherwise good content, just trying to give constructive feedback.
@forgemastermetal also kinda lame to jump to "it's a you problem". Like.. yikes dude, just an idea / observation
My bad bro, I misinterpreted the tone of your original comment. Apologies.
I personally don’t like that approach of riffing for myself. I tend to use too many similar words, and drone on and end up having way more to do in the edit. I also am riffing some in between major points and looking at the camera. Im eventually getting a teleprompter to get this in a better spot but this is what I have right now.
Thanks for the dialogue bud. I’ll scope your channel. Great to meet a fellow creator. Cheers and happy new year.
@forgemastermetal well I'm sure you make a ton more money at this than I do (ahem $0) so whatever works, just think Eye contact is important.
Thy Darkened Shade is great. I think all the others are pretty much just weak black metal and avoidable bands.
So suggest other bands to check out for other people. This is a community dude. Be a part of it.
half of this top can hardly be called Black Metal
