Oreo & Pac-Man Team Up with an EXCLUSIVE Nano Player Promotion!

- Oreo has launched a partnership with Pac-Man involving special-edition cookies and packaging inspired by the classic videogame, as well as an on-pack promotion. The biscuit brand has released six limited-edition cookies with designs inspired by Pac-Man, alongside limited packaging. Shoppers can scan each individual Oreo cookie with their phone camera, or enter the barcode from any participating pack, to be in with a chance of winning prizes. These prizes include a playable Mini Oreo Pac-Man Arcade, an Oreo Pac-Man arcade cabinet, and a holiday to Japan with a visit to Bandai Namco’s new gaming centre.
And lucky us, we got our hands on one of those exclusive playable mini arcade cabinets!

@MrYoshiNL This applies to most snacks and drinks. U.S. and Canada have multiple variants of one brand such as Oreo and MTN Dew, while Europe only has the originals and occasional limited times. Remember when the Halo Mountain Dew was a thing in Europe?

I live in Sweden so I am able to access the website and they also have a FULL SIZE ARCADE MACHINE with the Oreo/Pac-Man theme that you can win! (As well as a little LCD keychain Oreo/Pac-Man game.)

Looked up this video because I wanted to see beforehand what's the Nano Player like (before retrieving my prize). There seems to be some variability for European countries, as for Finland, the prizes are/were only the arcade cabinet and the mini arcade, winning a trip to Japan would have been cool too but that's excluded. 🤔 I think I wouldn't spend money on buying the device (Oreo-skinned or not) as I'm not much of a gamer/collector hobbyist. 😅 But as a campaign prize the device itself is still nice, tiny and cute as I've looked at it. Scanning the cookies like QR code to unlock game mazes on the campaign website was an interesting idea though and I wanted to give it a try regardless of winning in the raffle or not.

I kinda had the same thoughts when 7-11 did a cross promotion with Pac-Man; the World's Smallest Pac-Man would just be the usual arcade ROM and yet have the 7-11 logo on the sides and marque.

a shame they didn't customize the game, it shouldn't be that hard to change the power pellets into oreos, ever if it's using the original ROM

This is cool, but I'm kind of glad it's just the standard Pac-Man rom with a poorly made Oreo/Pac-Man artwork reskin, so I don't have to go nuts chasing this down. I did really like the Pac-Man/Hello Kitty crossover game they did a few years back that we did get here in the US.
I'd bet that's more a restriction from Namco than a design omission. They're pretty picky about how their licenses are used.

I know they do promotional stuff for other vendors, but this is the only one I saw related to Oreo.
As a lefty, I’ve never understood why righties think a stick on the left side is weird for lefties. Look at the Atari joystick. Button on the left, the stick is meant to be controlled with the right hand for righties. Watch anyone play PacMan in the arcade. They of course use their dominant hand on the stick. Games like Donkey Kong and Galaga have never been a problem for me ‘cause as a lefty, the stick is in the right place for me. But what about Centipede? Guess what, I have to play that cross handed.
