- Born on November 9th 2013, our adorable cub is currently residing in the Wildlife Health Centre. David MacBride She didn't kill the other two. She was actually doing very well trying to mother them, however, she just didn't produce enough milk. The other two did not survive and this teeny guy did.

I never knew bears need so much time to develop, he is 3 months old, and almost as helples as a human baby. And the rule isß more time to develop-higher intelligence.

This is cute in all but taking him form his mother is just sad :(
+Sirhokage the beasy usually it's because the mother died of injury or illness..sometimes happening during the baby's birth
and sometimes it is a rescued cub from a moth who abandoned it

The mother has a history of 'rejecting her young'. From which I presume they mean she either (a) kills them outright, or (b) turns them into the bear equivalent of dumpster babies.

No, the Zoo said that she had perfect maternal instincts but two of the baby bears still died (www.torontozoo.com/polarbearcub/). But the Zoo's webpage did not go into further detail, so I'm curious as to what happened. Someone else on this RUclips comments section said that she was unable to produce enough milk.

This "cute little bear" will live out his life in an enclosure for probably 30 and up to 40 years. He'll be put on display and teased by kids through glass for his entire life. The Zoo will justify this cruelty by saying it is for education and conservation purposes. Zoos are all about profit and this video you just watched was a commercial. Animals like him are only in cages because you pay to see them. When the Zoo can't make another buck off him, he'll be killed just like that giraffe was a few weeks ago. But keep writing how cute he is and try not to think about him 3 decades from now sitting in a cage depressed and bored to death. By then, with any luck(for the Zoo) he will have sired some babies of his own and your kids can comment how cute they are. SAD.

Just disgusting. Such a beautiful animal should never be taught to eat from a bowl. It should never happen in the 1st place. They need to stay wild and free.

Zoos are prisons where the horrour for animals is " natural" and it's hidden. Their lives as "products" are sold at the price of a ticket. These poor victims outside their natural environments, they seen kidnap and / or murder their parents, children. They are living their confinement, it's more than hard, terrible and unfair, when incarceration is itself no more nor less than a sentence, a conviction for making something against someone, society, etc.. these creatures have committed no crime and yet meet eternal damnation and are more than certain death, will live their murder when their presence no longer fend for old age, there is no place, or simply that those who the people leed the zoo no interested in them.
