Perhaps you missed the part where he and his twin were rejected by their mother. If he was in the wild he would be dead. He is an incredibly happy polar bear that is 16 months old now. He is moving to a zoo in Winnipeg to hopefully be able to breed and have children that will further the species.
In the wild where their ice home is melting due to mankind? lol, zoos save animals from going extinct. Plus, they're happy and not in distress. He/she should be free, but because human beings are assholes, animals can't enjoy the lives they're supposed to live. At least in a zoo they can be safe, get fed, and live to an old age.

In the wild, the cub will stay into the dent for at least 3 months...until he can walk and run. Here it’s safe for him to crawl outside.

Why are the zoo keepers feeding the babies and not the moms? Is the mom sick, died or something! I wish they would say something about it.
