    I use mine with a 98" adjustable ripping track, I prefer blade left like most, but with the track, it doesn't even matter. This saw straight up dominates the Rigid , it does more than enough for me. 3/4" birch is my most common material, sometimes MDF from 1/4-3/4" thickness. This saw gets the job done perfectly, every single time. And it looks great. Hahaha ......

      90% of saws sold in the world are blade right for to many reasons to list here .Blade left saws are some bizarre phenomenon of west coast USA.

    I am right handed but I do wish that this was left blade saw but besides that just bought this mainly for 2 reasons; main reason if i need to cut down boards sheet goods at store to put in SUV and use with my accu cut. So far this thing is fantastic, love the soft start and has been cutting through wood effortless, I actually can the blade better than 2 other right blade circ saws. Very happy with my purchase

    Right side blade its just like a corded one but cordless...nothing wrong with that...I got a simple 6 1/2 with a left blade wich I love it..I personally can use both, no problem, but I prefer left side...Great video like always...!!!

    Thanks for your candid review. The dust collection on this saw is terrible. Ryobi has to do some engineering: the blade guard blocks the dust port during the cut. Maybe some ventilating holes / slits on the guard may bring some improvement. Also the dust blower defeats dust collection. This blowing needs to be redesigned to turn off / away when the dust collection port is in use.

    • @timromano7085
      @timromano7085 Год назад

      Haven't tried mine yet, but to your point about the dust port being blocked during the cut, the blade spins counter-clockwise, so the dust would be flowing from 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock (as you face the blade) BETWEEN the lower plastic blade guard and the metal blade shroud. There's no block by the lower blade guard during the cut. However, the blade area is so open on the side, to accommodate the plastic blade guard, that there is little suction at 3 o'clock where the dust is spewing up from the kerf. There needs to be some kind of cowl at 3 o'clock.

    • @msk3905
      @msk3905 9 месяцев назад

      Is there any circ saw that has a great dust collection? I haven’t find one yet and to me last thing I care about with a circ saw

  • @Pro1er
    @Pro1er 3 года назад +3

    When you are rip cutting the 4x4, at 15:56 you can see the sawdust coming out of the front of the blade guard by your left hand, that's why the saw is bogging down so bad, it's not ejecting the dust out the back and binding the blade. Also, there is almost no dust coming out of the dust chute. Looks like Ryobi needs to redesign this one.

    • @Shoptoolreviews
      @Shoptoolreviews  3 года назад +1

      You are exactly right. The dust extraction could be much better on this saw. Thanks for watching.

      I had bought a rigid octane to go with my other tools (the impact driver and hammer drill) and man what a massive piece of 💩 that saw is. So I boxed it all up, returned it and invested into the Ryobi line, this saw is awesome, using a wimpy 1.5 ah battery, it embarrasses the Rigid with a 4 ah ..... Been using the saw now for about two weeks ( I'm a custom audio installer and automotive technician) building subwoofer enclosures, and so far, this saw gas been phenomenal for me. I don't run it constantly for 8 hours a day. But for ripping 3/4" birch ply and MDF, I can't say there's anything in the price range that can even hang with it. I do not use the dust attachment as I noticed it restricting the sawdust evacuation, so far, every cut, every enclosure has come out dead nuts straight and perfect. Maybe I got a good one, or maybe you got a not so good one???? Regardless, I'm 99.9% happy with my investment. The 0.1% that would have made it better, if it came with 4 or 6 ah HP battery. 🤣🤣🤣

    returned mine because it was impossible to set up square from the factory. Could have shaved down some of the plastic casing that was getting in the way, but for $129 bare tool I expect better. $99 for a corded makita, perfectly square out-of-box, will last a lifetime. I'll wait for the next one from ryobi, or a significant price drop if I feel i need cordless.

    As always an excellent video. I have the 4 amp hr +p battery and the non +p I think the non +p is a very good battery. Second it would be great to see this saw against their older left hand brush-less saw. I don't believe that many of these HP tools are all that much improved over their older stuff. Impact gun aside.

    Hey I just bought one of those beauties yesterday, i already have the brushless 7 1 4 Ryobi left blade but this saw has a track groove in the shoe ! The groove is 16mm across, what kind of track will fit so I can use it as a track saw !!! 😮

    It just doesn't hold up to the rest of the 1+ tools.. the bottom line is you know what your buying before you start cutting so don't expect flexvolt performance.

    Love this review compared to your other review of the same saw. Give ryobi a chance and for you a break look at the price for what you get this is why I love ryobi. I love all your reviews seriously great channel my go to review channel if I wanna know about a tool I usually look around your videos or word online. You made it to the big leagues buddy great work 👏 I applaud you my friend and thanks again for your no bs true review not being bought to say how good a tool is except for Milwaukee I think they pay you lmao 😉 see you on the next one

      I appreciate it. I think the other saw was the non-HP blade-left saw. I've done some different paid projects from time to time, but not at this time. My views, opinions, and testing doesn't change, and I'm never going to lie to someone. I do make mistakes (often, lol), but I don't lie. They know that, as well as all the other manufacturer's. People always seem to question all the Milwaukee tools, and the answer really is, they're very easy to work with. They also are not scared to throw their tool in a fight. Thanks again, and I'll always do my best to call it like I see it.

    Did yours cut perfectly perpendicular to the board when set at 0 degrees? Many people are complaining it's impossible to get rid of an angled cut. The blade right is a bummer.

  • @joseperez-qf4gz
    @joseperez-qf4gz Год назад

    I think the circular saw is a bit under power it has 4300 rpm when the 7in ones have over 5000 to 6000 rpm and highest I seen is 6300 rpm so if it’s stoping it could be the blade that comes with it but they release the saw that has 4300 rpm but there brush circular saws have 4700 or 4900 for the 5in and 6in which is weird to me even if it has the hp taps for the hp battery they should have release a saw with at least 5000 rpm maybe some saws can cut at that rpm like this ryobi circular saw but it’s a diy saw not a contractor or trades saw the 7in saw is to do tougher jobs if your getting a 7in get dewalt or makita or even a Milwaukee saw or for budget get craftsman or worx circular saw worx has one that is brushless that is 7in and has rpm of 6300 and craftsman that 5000 I prefer thoughts or the other ones or just stick with a plug in 7in saw get anyone of those or wait if they release a new one of ryobi.

    Just got one. Is it normal for the blade (Diablo Demo Demon) to have a slight jiggle on the spindle even when the outer blade washer is fully tightened down? Thin-kerf blade needs an additional washer?

  • @bobthebuilder6315

    I would have to say the reason it liked to pull right is all the weight is on the left of the saw (battery & motor)and with the rotational torque of the motor it will pull to the right. As for the saw overall it's a 👎for me. I'll stick with my Milwaukee & ridgid.
