Carolina Impact: Paul Wylie (Feb. 20, 2018)

Figure skater Paul Wylie brilliantly won the silver medal during the 1992 Olympics in Albertville, France. He now calls the Charlotte area home and if you time it just right, you may see him skating at Extreme Ice Center in Indian Trail.

Me too! I met him at Logan airport after the World Championships in Halifax, Nova Scotia; before his Olympic win. I was so happy when he got the silver because I knew it meant he would have a professional career.

No one could create tension and drama in a performance on the ice like Wylie could. Fantastic skater.
Wow, I had no idea about his heart issue. Glad he was able to be treated and recovered from that.
