So refreshing to watch a channel without all the sponsor plugs. People who actually get out there know you don’t need all those expensive products to have a great time.
Quick pointer. The big Agnes green inflatable mattress you guys briefly covered, the one where you were concerned about being out of breath......those have a valved end and a roll up open end stuff sack. Essentially you trap air and force it into the pad, there for requiring zero lung capacity. Even being blown up by lungs, not bad at all. They're made for backpacking, and are EXTREMELY light. It's what I use on the trails. Just an FYI. Great videos. Keep it up
You guys are the best. I like that you are down to earth normal guys who so not fall for all the hype and think that you have to spend mega money on everything when little money works just fine. I wish that I would have met you when we were there at the Expo West. Keep up the great work and I look forward to future videos..
In the 70's canoeing down the Colorado River in the BSA we had a tent, sleeping bag, mess kit and not much more. Too many options are a bad thing. KISS
A buddy of mine has that sleeping pad. You don't have to breathe into it to blow it up. The bag that it comes with has a valve that connects to the pad and you pump up the mattress kinda like those showers you had seen. Hope this helps.
Tim Foy , I have this sleeping pad too, the sack they show next to it is what is used to blow it up and it only takes a few seconds. Great for backpacking since it is so small and light.
New sub, and a thumbs up! I'm totally in favor of the different roof top tents that are out now. Hard top apartment that folds down flat, complete with running water. LOL.
Go with exofficio give n go boxer briefs excellent underwear. Wore a pair for 2 weeks straight with no irritation or smell. They are quick drying and anti microbial.
"Share it with your mama" lol. Appreciate your approach, so much hype out there that doesn't deliver. Looking forward to checking in on your TransAmerica trail trip. 👍
Nice job, guys. You might want to help the vendors out just a bit by asking them to clearly state the company name and website. I had no idea who makes the traction devices until Randy posted their link below. Just ordered a pair. Will get The Java Can as a present for my wife. Always happy to support the troops and veterans.
Thank you gentlemen for showing the video... I've learned a lot, and you are right, we don't need all of that junks, and too much weight and it was not cheap! less is more.
We carry a propane burner and a big ass aluminum stock pot. A couple gallons from our road shower to boiling or close, back in the shower. Hot shower anytime we want.
Nice sampling of some of the vendors. Comments by the bearded guy are helpful. Like some said below, would be helpful to list the vendor names. Good work thus far.
Dig it! I was less interested in the products and instead I was into the walk-away commentaries. I think a lot of the products were ‘meh’ products, and I like that you were not trying to ‘sell’ every product like it was something incredible. A lot of stuff is just meh. Thanks for having an opinion: that was refreshing! All of this would have been interesting when I first got my jeep. Having spent time out on trips changes my opinion on what’s important. Towards the end I was just fast forwarding through your product reviews to just get to your commentaries. Thanks for saving me a trip to expo this year!
We've been using the Shower Pouches for over a year now; they're awesome (and so are the guys over at #ShowerPouch). They've been quite nice to have on longer trips to just get that chance to wipe down. One recommendation, if you're going for an early morning use, toss it in your sleeping bag (or whatever) overnight to warm it up a bit. We also hear you can boil them, but adding a little bit of body heat to the outside of the pouch will make it a bit more pleasant.
If you guys get that pressurized bottle I'd like to hear how useful it ends up being. Aside from showering, it seems like it might be good for cleaning dishes etc. As for the giant wet wipes, I've been using the "epic wipes" version of that which seems about the same. They're really handy, especially paired with a can of Dove dry shampoo.
sonictech1000 - I bought from Home Depot a pressurized hand held garden water/weed sprayer. Less than ten bucks. Painted it black for heated mist showers. Just an idea if you’re looking.
As far as the Skottel goes. I'm South African and we've had these for a very long time, this was just a normal camping stove, think our version of your coleman two burner. The most popular company that makes these in South Africa is Cadac, and they go for around $50 a piece. Now not quite the quality of the Skottle and you can find a higher end one on Amazon from Cadac.
Awesome video. Get the down-low from the vendors on their products, then do a pro and cons analysis as to whether or not the items is necessary for your needs. Can't say Ive seen that done before.
It’s not “mother of comfort”. The company is called “Big Agnes”. I’ve got a couple of their air pads and bags. Their 72”x25” pad takes about 12-15 breaths to inflate by mouth. And I’m a 65yo guy who quit smoking about 4 years ago after 40+ years of cigarettes. If I can blow these up without passing out or getting dizzy... BTW the really nice thing about the BA bags is no padding in the bottom of the bag. Instead there’s a sleeve that the air pad slides into. You will not roll off that pad. Yeah, I’m a big BA fan.
Found you guys a week ago (Second time commenting, Brandon still reminds me of "Bobby" from Supernatural BTW).. Good coverage. As a person that host Events similar to this in the Firearms Industry, one thing I want to recommend is avoiding the words "Garbage" and "Junk" unless you are being specific. At the end those words were used and can come across as being too critical without offering constructive criticism. If a product is junk, call it junk. Just keep it specific. Believe it or not, Industry folks can be quite sensitive, especially Event host. I have seen folks blacklisted for that kind of stuff, and they didnt even mean to be critical. Keep up the great work.
Using a Nalgene for a shower is quite novel. I don't think it's as easy as wet-down, lather up, and rinse. Water is not compressible, so when you're full, you're only compressing a tiny air space. I imagine you need to pump it up at least once, about halfway. I think if you're planning on spending extended time off-grid, then hot water and a convenient means of sanitation are priorities. Get yourself clean and not cause an eco-disaster. I've got gear to cover everything else, pretty much.
Love the videos, love your perspective, I do kind of feel like you're not 100% paying attention, yet complaining about how brands don't do their branding well... 14:47 you're at Big Agnes, not "Mother of Comfort." Big Agnes is one of the best known sleeping bag/pad makers in the camping world. Their logo was all over everything too. Like I said, love your perspective; hearing from people who are new to this world is very interesting. Keep up the great work.
Hey there. I really like this video to show some of the things at the show for those who couldn’t make it. It’s my first time seeing your channel. I’m going to watch more. Thanks and travel safe. What are you rigs? How long does the trail take
If Brandon is looking for dash mounted options for equipment as well, he should check out Vector Offroad too. vectoroffroad.com/collections/jk-wrangler-products/products/jke-dock-2007-2010
Woa: 25:27, Aus has 25M versus 315M that's appx 12.5% not 100. 3.5 months on one trip around the top end never stayed at a NP/NF or Crown Land cause WE DON"T LET DOGS in National Parks or National Forrests. Solar is big as it's always there mate! Oh, it's Brisbun (Brisbane) not like Brisbane in Florida. Agreed USA is way behind in outback technology.
so true about what u really need or just think you need. ive always been a lightweight backpacker and we constantly try to lower our pack weight. literally 2 pairs of underwear, 2 pairs of socks and keep washing/rotating! seeing these huge ass class a rvs and giant overlanding rigs almost makes me throw up. i mean, if you actually live in it, thats different.... but how much crap do u need to go glamping for a weekend. its absurd.
Exactly. But it’s all at a level of comfort. Some people don’t like to get dirty but they do want to see the things we see, so they build half a million house on wheels and then realize they can’t even get to the places we are. 😂
trailspinTV yup, thats what happens when u get a "city" wife and a bunch of kids. digging a hole and pooping is not cutting it. they need a 1500watt hairdryer, full shower, a real toilet, 4 burner stove, oven, full wardrobe, makeup kit, closet full of shoes, and a big ass generator to power everything.
"We find places people made fire, so we make fire there too" Humans doing the same thing for millions of year! He was correct about the fire pit. But, In the desert you can't make a fire unless you use a elevated container. I use a weber shorty.
Overlanding is where mountain biking was in the 90s, too many purple anodized handlebars and chain rings.. I like the dudes comments -we're decades behind the Australians and your comment - too much unnecessary junk. I couldn't agree more.
Subscribed for that last statement alone. There is so much useless and overpriced garbage products in the outdoor industry. For such a minimalist lifestyle, truly innovative products are such a rarity.
10:59 “if you can break it we really wanna know the story, they’re practically indestructible” Give that shit to the U.S. Marine Corps or the U.S. Army...guaranteed they’ll be broken within the first field op.
It’s my understanding that they already have contracts in place with the military, and that the product has been put on display in front of engineers, logisticians, test reps, and so on and were determined to offer advantages over what the military is or was using at the time. Plenty of info on their website.
trailspinTV I heard them say they have contracts with DOD & Military, it’s just a saying we have in the Marines. Everyone says their military grade/tested is indestructible but it never fails... we break everything issued or put through field tested.
Ahem. Thx for this. However, Walmart Flushable Wipes are $0.99 for 40(!), 3 dispenser paks in a bundle. Tough, cheap, disposable, unscented, clean, hypoallergenic. Try the cheap/easy solution first. (Tighter editing would be appreciated).
Wow, so much useless crap. That Big Agnes lime green sleeping pad is actually really nice. I have one and recently picked on up for my wife. If you sleep on your side, this is probably the best of the best because its like 4-5 inches thick and gets your shoulder and hip off the ground as it contours to your body. Yeah, blowing them up is a bit of a pain, but thats a trade off I am willing to make because they are lighter and pack smaller. Its excellent for motorcycle camping.
adult baby wipes? you guys ever heard of a bird bath? small bowl of water, cloth and soap. all clean in minutes with maybe a liter of water consumed....just saved you $4.00
Here is an idea. Milk of magnesia, I put a little bit on my feet and took a 20 mile hike. My feet smelled like I just got out of the shower. It is antibacterial.
You lost me with the first turd. Just ask him and pin him down what "ESSENTIAL OILS" are? Overlanders do not care about crap products and the marketing involved.
So refreshing to watch a channel without all the sponsor plugs. People who actually get out there know you don’t need all those expensive products to have a great time.
Exactly! Showing people that anyone can do it!
Uhhh. This was one long sequence of commercials! LOL! But yeah. They're giving the fair experience.
Quick pointer. The big Agnes green inflatable mattress you guys briefly covered, the one where you were concerned about being out of breath......those have a valved end and a roll up open end stuff sack. Yea, we just recently started to get a lot of traffic. Maybe next time!
Great job covering the Expo, no fluff..
I love your honesty about the product and trailer reviews. Your actually saying what I'm thinking.
In the 70's canoeing down the Colorado River in the BSA we had a tent, sleeping bag, mess kit and not much more. Too many options are a bad thing. KISS
Cool stuff. I liked the gotreads. And towels
Really enjoying your coverage and videos. Real people stuff is appreciated.
No problem!
We bought those wipes it was the next best thing to a shower while camping
Love your guys honest opinions. Very refreshing to get. Keep that ups gents.
You guys rock! Thank you so much for doing this kind of coverage!
Great job, love the info and some really good vendors, especially the recovery tracks. Keep rocking the videos and happy trails
Yea! They look good! Probably will buy them in the future to test them out!
Need to show the product they're talking about. A demo on how something works or the setup would be nice!
New subscriber, Enjoyed your overland expo, liked the focus on new and innovative. Following your travel series now.
A buddy of mine has that sleeping pad. You don't have to breathe into it to blow it up. The bag that it comes with has a valve that connects to the pad and you pump up the mattress kinda like those showers you had seen. Hope this helps.

Another good review guys. I want to hire the wet wipe guy.! What a great salesman.
The massage setting on the foot pump shower is great for the thigh muscles. Just remember to alternate legs .
Awesome video. Good amount of information on the products.
Excellent walk around video 👍
New sub, and a thumbs up! I'm totally in favor of the different roof top tents that are out now. Hard top apartment that folds down flat, complete with running water. LOL.
I found you guys looking for videos like this! You guys are great, I love your videos and am catching up on your trail days video's, keep it up!
A small garden sprayer works much the same as this aguabot...cost 1/3 to 1/2 of aguabot..these w garden sprayers pump up just like that
Definitely thinking about picking one up! We are just in the middle of a trip so possibly after.
Thanks for covering the expo you are living my dream keep the great videos coming!
Those tembo tusk brai’s look good.
Go with exofficio give n go boxer briefs excellent underwear. Wore a pair for 2 weeks straight with no irritation or smell. They are quick drying and anti microbial.
New favorite channel
We appreciate the support! More great stuff to come!
Took you up on the Shower Pouch recommendation. Bought the 15pk for Yosemite in June 2019. Thanks.
Great video guys. Thanks.
Good video, Thanks for sharing ✌
"Share it with your mama" lol. Appreciate your approach, so much hype out there that doesn't deliver. Looking forward to checking in on your TransAmerica trail trip. 👍

Regarding the Tembo Tusk, I have found what I think is at least comparable if not better and I plan on purchasing one eventually: South West Disk
Awesome! Let us know how it goes!
trailspinTV if you ended up buying a skottle, or any cast iron or carbon steel pan, look up seasoning with flaxseed oil.
We've been using the Shower Pouches for over a year now; they're awesome (and so are the guys over at #ShowerPouch). Braxton ended up boiling his, that video will come out in the next couple of days.
Good stuff. Go Treads look interesting.

AZ TACOMA Thanks for the idea.
I know that he was having issues with the bottles leaking so he wasn’t selling any. I like the Home Depot idea. We will look into things further
A 1.5L water bottle from the gas station with a couple thumbtack holes in the cap works pretty good too for dishes and showers.
Uh... Big Anges not the mother of comfort. You guys should check out the Thermarest NeoAir ones.
Good stuff guys. Just need to re-season the Skottle. It's cast iron, it will last forever as long as it is taken care of.
The issue was that the burner was broken and wasn’t burning evenly. So they replaced it.
I want those cleaning wipes!
9:18 LOL YES! Liked and subscribed right there. :)
Can you put that spray bottle shower in a pot of hot water ?

My mama won't watch this dangit! I tried, thanks for sharing guys. Thumbs up
At least you tried!
Appreciate the videos. Great questions asked and very detailed explanations from you two both.
Great job
You guys Rock .. seeking out Unique items
- Can you provide the Full body wet wipe
- Rep spoke too fast missed Website
Websites are in the bio now!
You guys have a great channel. Keep at it. Subbed!
OEX is turning into the Oshkosh for the road :-)
Awesome video. Get the down-low from the vendors on their products, then do a pro and cons analysis as to whether or not the items is necessary for your needs.
Can't say Ive seen that done before.
Someone gets it. It’s just our non-biased opinion based on our story and nothing else. Thanks for the positive feedback!
Great Video
Steel will get hot spots, where as less likely with cast iron .
Absolutely great Channel. Gets me excited for Overland Expo East. Good luck and be safe guys.
American innovation, love it!
Very good job on the video

so what U guys think of ur AquaBot spray bottle?
Well, we went to purchase one, but a lot of them were leaking, so he wasn’t selling them anymore.
Great video. Subscribed and gave it a like. Keep it going.☺
Can I find these items at amazon? Interested in spray bottle, body wipes and small scottle
The links should be in the description.

Great video! we should collab on some future videos.
Feel free to hit me up!
How am I just now finding this channel?!
Idk, we just started the daily uploading less than a month ago!
Can't believe these guys don't know what a Nalgene bottle is lol
Lots of great gear on display though!
Seth Warner I know I yelled and hit the screen NAL Jean people!

I'm convicned now that I'll need to bring bear spray to the next OL meeting!!!!!
Hate you guys so much!! I wanna buy all the products now 😂😂😂
Didn't get the names of some of the vendors -
Will be updating the description with links soon. Someone commented them with all of them.
Did u buy the adventure skottle?
Nope, maybe for the next trip! It’s nice though!
I'm sure it is nice.....but, those of us on a Walmart budget don't see the advantage. Just saying.
Check www.southwestdisk.com/18-madrid-discada/ for an alternative and a much nicer price.
If Brandon is looking for dash mounted options for equipment as well, he should check out Vector Offroad too.

Ok, great! Will check them out!
Braxton didn't know, but I am running the JKE Dock with RAM mounts for my phone, tablet, camera, and Inreach. I love this thing!

Where did you get that “snail rated” shirt?
They Were on amazon, but Jeep recently took them down for copyright issues.

That’s pretty funny because they sold about 5,000 of them yesterday. Have a nice day. Try not to be such a crab ass next time. ✌️
Good job guys!! I subbed your channel, keep up the good work!! Check out my DIY video about making a portable shower out of a garden sprayer.
"What's up"........went out 10 years ago.
Peter McKinnon says what's up every day
And what do you say these days instead? In NY we say "What's up" damn near every day.
