Yeah, we were super quick to upload because we knew that people that weren’t able to attend were eager to see the content from there. Other channels should be rolling out their footage soon.
I’ve been looking for a nice base camp somewhere we can venture from for a few days without halfing to load the rooftop everytime we wanna hit some trails
Good video. Braxton, your head blocked the GFC rooftop camper. The GFC uniqueness is the composite material construction which reduces the weight to only 250 lbs. A low weight camper has many advantages on the road. Overall, your videos are the best so far.
Loving the videos, you guys going to be at expo east? Thinking of taking the week off to bring the tacoma down and do a little wheeling/overlanding before the expo.
Provident Pathfinders , I looked for the Oz tent there, couldn’t believe no one had them. I was prepared to buy one. It was a great time at Overland Expo 2018!
Great videos guys! Would love to see and hear your thoughts on the Australian canopies like the one on Overland Expeditions Tundra. I believe there is a ram out there with one too
Great Vid! Thanks! Sad, the "Freespirit" guy couldn't even be bothered to get out of his chair. Gives an immediate bad impression. If "Sales" is that bad, "Customer Svc" can't be far behind, imo.
I have two of the conical tents that were shown second. They are nice but they definitely need a top vent. Hot air stays in the upper section. Then there is the head room problem. I went back to a good ol' wall tent. It actually has a smaller footprint but has more usable space. I am a 23 year Scoutmaster and I know what makes a long term camp comfortable.
The white canvas bell tents (as we call them) are my clear winners in your video. They are very common in Europe and with a wood burning stove (frontier stove or g-stove or similar ones) the best option for true winter camping (incl. heavy snow that is). Another fast set up one pole option is a true Tipi from Tentipi e.g. If you don't want a standalone tent than instead of these high up roof tops, I also vote for a tent-trailer, like a "3dog" (German) or "patriot" (Australian). Personally I really want to have the car ready, all and any time. You can leave a standalone tent or tent trailer behind, if needed.
1st tent - In Canada, we use the same style for ice-fishing but the cost for an insulated 6 sided hut is 1/3 to what is being advertised and is in CDN $ to boot! You have to be nuts to pay that price down south! And we Canadians don't need to print the word EXIT on the doors to figure out how to get out!
Well you're right, those rtts all look the same. But those hard shells are cool! I didn't see any that raise straight up on both ends though. The clam shell ones are cool, but the hinged end is just wasted space.
ok regarding that shift pod. I kinda dont believe the guy when he said that they tested the pod in a 100+ wind test. but when he places his hand on the pod and just barely touches the wall they collapse, Soooo Yaaaa.. I have a tons of questions on that .....LOL
That would be with the guy lines and fly (blast shied is what they call it) attached. We use the same style in Canada as ice shelters and they do just fine.
Not sure how you feel about this... link to best roof top tent in Australia at the moment...video not about cool editing so be around with the homegrown approach first look at tent is about 23:23 mins there are other spec videos on their website, this is just the latest one as it is a new design product...hope you enjoy a quality build and attention to detail 👍😊 ruclips.net/video/n20EVtHbDgM/видео.html
so.... Can I put in a Job App to do this for a living for TRAILSPINTV? Big things are happening and I am very happy for you guys.. Hard work is paying off! Great Job!
I use my ice fishing hut it’s 7 feet wide and 7 feet hi and 13 feet long it’s a pop up like the first tent and I payed 188$ can for it only thing it doesn’t have is a floor
$699 3 years ago let’s see what are the prices on 2022. I hope they keep the same price so it’s affordable for almost anyone and not $1k for the shiftpod mini
$600 for a 2 person tent or $1000+ for a 4 person tent neither of which are alta-lite? I mean I guess it’s cool for people who are in tent car camping in the middle of the dessert with no shade. But even those people, typically want to get up off the hot ground and therefore go for the camper tents.
Those teepee tents are ridiculously priced! Who makes them lawyers at $250 an hour? Daaaaam! It’s a cloth tent... cloth isn’t that expensive nor difficult to sew.
negative responses r just like "bad customer svc" as skinny dude mentioned. and by your channel's very low sub conversion per view rate, edward may have a small point with his comment... and beard dude needs to tone down the know-it-all character, esp. when your channel has no traction. itz def a turn off to most viewers... and edward, your initial comment did come off as rude obviously ...so perhaps u were looking for the snap back? :)
😂 You guys crack me up in these comment sections sometimes. We don’t care if people watch us, or like us, or hate us. Not here to serve anyone. We didn’t do this for the “sub conversions”, or the money, or the fame. I always know who actually watches our stuff and who doesn’t, because if you did watch, you’d know where we come from. - “Beard Dude”
$1,299.00 for a tent that is basically for 3 adults and sits on the ground? Good luck selling it. A Coleman Instant Tent that is 6 feet tall and 10' x 12' costs less than a quarter of it.
I was wondering if you were going to actually show some tents in another video since this video was basically your head or the person you were speaking with. Seriously if you’re going to make a video about tents you should actually show the tents. This was a waste of my time so no I’m not subscribing. Sorry but you had your chance.
Next time, just go to Expo yourself. You can stare at the tents all you want. We had the camera on the person talking because they were providing information about the product. - Brandon
At Horus909: I can understand why you might say that. Heat moving through insulation due to direct contact (air against the insulation) moves by conduction. However, every warm body like the sun outside and our own bodies inside the tent, emit heat in the form of infrared radiation. Putting a shiny, reflective coating on the inside and outside of the insulation will reflect the sun’s infrared portion of light and our radiated heat stays in. Perhaps that is what the manufacturer referred to. Just an old engineer’s two cents.
I like how you boys categorized the videos. You are doing GREAT.
You guys did a great job on the overland expo.Thank You.
Thank you!
You guys are killing it on the expo coverage...way better than others and I've been searching. Thanks!
Yeah, we were super quick to upload because we knew that people that weren’t able to attend were eager to see the content from there. Other channels should be rolling out their footage soon.
That igloo tent looks perfect.
Yeah, but the 6 person all collapsed up takes up a decent amount of space.
If it's waterproof and uv proof, it is bad @z
Fail either of those and total fail, imo
Interesting seeing the difference between USA and Australian style overlanding.
You guys are costing me $$$! Great coverage of the expo. Like to hear real reviews and thoughts about the stuff
Good stuff.. lots of different options & ideas great video. great job guys thanks so much.
That Darche awing and side panels would be awesome if your trailer your buggy or bikes to your camping spot. Would love that on the side of my van.
Yeah that thing is sweet!
The CampKings set up on that Taco is dope. I want it.
Great vid. Agree with your guys opinions.
You guys are funny. Keep it up . Thanks for doing vids.
He said its size of a travel golf bag lol that thing is three times that size lol
That bag can fit 3 adult human bodies in it. I dont want that shit in my truck bed. Way way too big
Hahahaha my first thought this guy has some big ass golf bags! 😂
Enjoyed this. Take a look at Oztent and the RV series of quick setup ground tents. Subscribed.
Thank you! Will take a look!
A big silver bubble and no mention of the temperature inside? Wondering if it was cooler than an average nylon and mesh tent.
It was very well ventilated and in the Arizona sun was surprisingly cool.
trailspinTV appreciate it. I want to make some reflectix panels for my screen tent at least to keep it cooler. Interesting tent.
I like the first one in insulated tent for under 1500 bucks that's a steal
I’ve been looking for a nice base camp somewhere we can venture from for a few days without halfing to load the rooftop everytime we wanna hit some trails
It's a damn ice fishing shack Haha, been around for many many years.
And what they don't tell you is the wind will pop the walls back in unless you have like 2 dozen tie downs lol. I learned that on the ice 😂
Which one
Good video. Braxton, your head blocked the GFC rooftop camper. The GFC uniqueness is the composite material construction which reduces the weight to only 250 lbs. A low weight camper has many advantages on the road. Overall, your videos are the best so far.
Lol, sorry for my big head!

The first tents are just ice fishing shelters.
Loving the videos, you guys going to be at expo east? Thinking of taking the week off to bring the tacoma down and do a little wheeling/overlanding before the expo.
Those pop up tents are basically ice shanties that are now marketed to campers lol
That is exactly what happens in new markets!
I just thought it was funny
Yeha and way overpriced
Any idea what is the brand or name of the bed cage where Camp King rooftop tent was mounted on a blue truck? Thanks
The tepui tent you showed is on a trailer. By chance do you have the make of the trailer?
Bummed that OzTent was not represented. So many options with the RV 30 sec. tents. I too am a fan of ground tents.
Sorry! There was so much to cover!
trailspinTV You guys did great! No vendors had any OzTent stuff....that I could find anyways.
Provident Pathfinders ,
I looked for the Oz tent there, couldn’t believe no one had them. I was prepared to buy one. It was a great time at Overland Expo 2018!
great video''
Thank you for sharing.
Great videos guys! Would love to see and hear your thoughts on the Australian canopies like the one on Overland Expeditions Tundra. I believe there is a ram out there with one too
If we see one, we will check it out!
Just get an insulated ice fishing tent exact same as the first one but half the price and pack smaller
You got a link on it
Great Vid! Thanks! Sad, the "Freespirit" guy couldn't even be bothered to get out of his chair. Gives an immediate bad impression. If "Sales" is that bad, "Customer Svc" can't be far behind, imo.
I noticed that same thing. It's the little things that ppl notice, could make all the difference when it comes to making a sale
i wouldn't want him to get up. he is a fat shithouse so no surprise there.

too fast on that tepui set-up,the trailer was nice, what was the awning arms on that thing??Thanks for all the coverage at the show.
Sorry. Since they were a popular brand, we are sure that you can easily find that info on their page.
trailspinTV not seeing anything on there trailers st all other than rentals, only other real website is just rooftop tents. Useless
Do you eat a lot of Big Macs??? Looks like it.

I never did catch the name of the second (teepee - like) tent. What was it?
ok regarding that shift pod. I kinda dont believe the guy when he said that they tested the pod in a 100+ wind test.

The first two were my favorites.
We definitely felt the same!
$600 for a ground blind!!! No!! Go to academy and buy a $80 hunting ground blind and voila. Instant tent.
What happened to CVT!!!
Gr8 vids. Did you run across any must have camp accessories?
Accessories video comes out tomorrow!

Portland Oregon! 👍
What brand we're the tents they showed second? They would be perfect for burning man
Stouttent.com
you guys never seen a pop up ice shanty?
Not as quick as that. Just seen a bunch of metal held up by a frame.
trailspinTV they actually stole the design from pop up shelters those are different from flip over shelters
so.... Can I put in a Job App to do this for a living for TRAILSPINTV? Big things are happening and I am very happy for you guys.. Hard work is paying off! Great Job!

Yeah, their pricing is just nuts.
Hey Braxton, if you got a hard shell rooftop tent I wonder if you could put stuff on top of it? Lol! Just kidding man, I love the coverage!
SHAWИEE HILLS First he needs something to put under it lol.
Been looking at some vehicles. May purchase one right when we finish the trip!
-Braxton
$699 3 years ago let’s see what are the prices on 2022. I hope they keep the same price so it’s affordable for almost anyone and not $1k for the shiftpod mini
$2,850 for a tent? I need to get a sewing machine...
Some rooftop camper tents for trucks and RVs and such are upwards of 7 or 8000
If your going to spend this much on a tent, might as well buy a travel trailer
Or a larger vehicle? It all depends on what your preference is I guess. That’s why there are so many options!
Pit Dawg - Who wants to haul around a travel trailer?
Show me where you’re getting a travel trailer for $1500
K Digiacomo who wants to haul that big ass tent either?
C NearWheel - 8 to 10 inhces is huge, size matters right?
Soooooo.... Maybe booger picker could stand to the side instead of in front of the object he's reviewing?
0:32 they called their product a shit pod?
I don’t know if you’re being serious or not, but those are called “Shift Pods”.
Looks like an Eskimo ice fishing instant shelter to me
$600 for a 2 person tent or $1000+ for a 4 person tent neither of which are alta-lite? I mean I guess it’s cool for people who are in tent car camping in the middle of the dessert with no shade. Does that ARS company have a website? I can’t seem to find anything on them.
Link should be in description.
I wish....unless I'm just blind or still wasted from Memorial Day, I'm not seeing it.
System shown @ 9:20
JRDiesel I found it right away but nothing showing that fancy lift system
Those tents (shown second) have stripper poles! Nothing says Shiekh like that.
perfect for the inlaws
Works just like a $70 deer blind from Walmart
Seemed like Darche is the new thing over Rhino Rack and OzTent.
less selfie more product...
Just for you, our next video like this will be just our noses!
And its shit-head attitudes like yours that show why you get so few views and likes.
That massive tent would be great for military application/swat etc.
Rather have an OZ Tent RC 4or5 over that first tent and for less getting more out of it with just an easier setup and as fast if not faster setup.
Ouch.. I would buy a double bull blind and ask will promos about a patent infringement....
Those teepee tents are ridiculously priced! Who makes them lawyers at $250 an hour? Daaaaam! It’s a cloth tent... cloth isn’t that expensive nor difficult to sew.
And that is why there is the DIY community out there!
Sew one up and beat their price
rbnhd1976
Don't even have to do that. Anybody can go online and get the same for 1/2 that price!
Roarmeister2 fr. Most people don’t need a crazy tent with 24 zippers that has a separate room for the dogs.
I Think the dude from SLOOP IS A BIT DRUNK......
Lol my Walmart tent up in 1 minute been through some good wind storms lol will it stand a hundred mph wind no way but I can buy a lot of them for 1k
Solely based on the prices everyone wants for their products at this expo I'm starting to think camping is now a rich mans hobby...
None of the stuff being sold at Expo is necessary for camping. Camping can be anyone's hobby. Not just the rich.
So... they took a gazelle and put aluminum foil all over it? Still cool for sure
sometimes you need to video more the tents not your faces
Just for you, out next tent review will just be our noses.
typical response from millennial's

And that tents non-insulated either not a good Four Seasons tent the first tent it takes very little to heat it or cool it
PS for the video, less face time and more product time - I could care less about watching your face all day, I want to see what you are talking about.
I want a rooftop tent for my dog.......can you leave the dog in there while you're driving....?................sorry, couldn't resist.....
$1299?!?! I'm out
Psst - that was the SALE price! Reg. $1499 US.
Did he say 1200 for a ground tent? LMAO

Get real it probably only 100 a year over the life of the ⛺️
The pod is far from new innovation Its just a copy of a clam pop up ice hut with a floor
"couple layers for hot insulation, couple layers for cold insulation" LOL, that first guy has no clue what he's talking about.
At Horus909: I can understand why you might say that. Heat moving through insulation due to direct contact (air against the insulation) moves by conduction. It's marketing schtick... it doesn't have to make sense; it just has to entice the idiots.
So you copied the gizelle tent and tripped the price. No thanks
hard to watch
Travel golf bag .bollocks
😂😂😂
Shit pod?
😂😂😂 yeah it does sound like that.
Overland gear has gotten to be so Ridiculously expensive. Between the gear and the vehicles you’re in real deep.
