An incredibly underrated character, Meg is witty, sarcastic, and completely relatable. In fact, she's the most relatable character in Disney history. What i meant was that by Anastasia being created by another company means that how she is portrayed cannot be given credit to disney since her movie was produced b4 disney bought said company. Since they didnt have any say in the creation of the movie they cant or wont make her a Disney princess and they cant brag about how awesome she is. Anna Yes I also know about the fact that in the real myth she is in fact a princess the princess of Thebes. But what I meant is that even ignoring that in the disney version she should still be considered a princess because her partner Hercules is the prince of the gods,son of Zeus the king of the gods, so that would make her a princess.

You have to be an animated character
Either born royal, married royal or have commited a significant act of heroism
And the unspoken rule _box office success,_ which is why characters like Meg and Kida aren't "official" disney princesses.

The Disney movie Hercules in general is underrated
It’s implied that she’s older and more experienced than he is, she’s comfortable with her sexuality-and yet she isn’t shamed or maligned for these things. She straight up calls out men who think “no means yes.” She’s presented as sympathetic, heroic, and worth protecting. She’s also just an all around great character. Good job, Disney. Good job.

Honestly, I think she should be considered a princess. They call Zeus the "King of the gods", right? So Hercules is basically a prince. Meg married Hercules, so she should be counted as a princess.
Not that the movie was mythologically accurate, but originally Megara was the oldest daughter of Creon, the king of Thebes. So a source material argument in favor of her royalty seems pretty airtight.
She also would have to be The MAIN character of her own movie
Being an actual princess is not neccessary for being a Disney Princess™ (see: Mulan and Pocahontas.) Even Esmeralda from Hunchback of Notre-Dame was one of the original Disney Princesses, but was later removed from the lineup for not selling as much as the others - which is the reason Meg isn't an official Disney princess: she doesn't sell enough toys, costumes and school supplies. Same thing applies to Jane (Tarzan) and Kida (Atlantis: The Lost Empire).

Technically, it's never confirmed that they got married, also it's not out of the realm of possibility that when Hercules chose to stay mortal, it could be considered that he abdicated his right to the throne. But that could just be me looking to far into things.

What I meant by “girly girl” was she’s really sarcastic and blunt, she wasn’t depicted as a sing song pretty girl. She was depicted as a strong woman that delt with selling her soul to save the man she thought loved her. That’s heavy stuff. The movie shows us her emotional scars, and even her healing. This is why I love Meg so damn much!!
(She was really Feminine not Girly and the times that she was, she was doing it to try and free her soul. So she wasn’t really acting like That freely and on purpose. Just like how Jasmin tries to seduce Jafar for her freedom and his demise.)

megan d nah she was 16, she was in that phase when you date a guy for a week and he is already the love of your life, and then she discovered she was engaged to someone else ( didn't know it was the same guy) and went into rebel mode(quite underdtandable) using the boy she had just met as the perfect excuse to avoid a marriage she didn't want.
Aurora lived all her life in the secluded woods, away from everyone but those three fairies and one day she meets a very handsome and charming young man her age who looks at her like she is the eighth wonder of the world and later turns out to have slayed a dragon/the most powerfull dark fairy to save her. Can't blame her for swooning honestly.
On the other hand Meg sacrificed her soul once to a man who didn't deserve it and learned from that.

Can we also take a moment to appreciate Susan Egan who voiced her? Her timing and delivery made Meg so memorable and fun.
There are two thing worth watching in Disney's Hercules: Meg and Hades. The former has more sass than everyone who's ever been at a Roast of Dean Martin (and whose animation makes her very appealing to the eyes) and the latter is absolutely bloody hilarious.
Hercules & Phil doesn't work so much. It's too much 99% business to be a relatable friendship, like Rocky & Mickey (the old boxer) was in similar themes. Asterix & Obelix duo worked better in their retelling of the Twelve Tasks.
Also, I think the soundtrack is amazing as a bonus.
I only watch it because of Megara's sass and when hades losses his marbles

I was so disappointed at how she was portrayed in Once Upon A Time. They made her a weeping damsel of a child, and only had her for one episode. She could’ve been Regina’s sarcastic soul mate if done more like this. The missed potential was disappointing.

Hercules was a great moovie and its very underrated, it has a great bso, very deep relatable characters, its epic, has a good message, and doesnt bore. Wish modern Disney could do half of that

I honestly never gave a damn about Megara, barely even liked her. But this video has a good point. I think i like her now. You have to be an adult to really appreciate her. Alot of what she said... i understand now and agree with.
