I’m a 19 year old girl in Argentina. I never in my life watched a baseball game, but for the per hour I been watching these Dodgers videos non stop. Idk
Born in 1953 in St. Louis growing up the Cardinals games against the Dodgers and the Giants were my favorites in the 1960s. I most liked the video shown of their time in Brooklyn that was a little before my time. I play the baseball strat-o-matic game and enjoy playing the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers team against other older teams from the 1950s offered by the game. This video is a gem for fans of baseball history.
As one of the lucky people who were fortunate enough to see the BROOKLYN Dodgers at Ebbets Field my thanks for the wonderful video. Of course the sight of them playing in Los Angeles is not something I will ever accept or watch. A death occurred that day for many of us. But I cherish the good times especially opening day in 1956 when I got to see the World Championship flag raised. Haven’t rooted for them since.
I must admit, this is a sheer delight to watch. My late father was a New York/San Francisco Giant fan from 1947 until his death in 1992. He would always get a laugh after sharing his story about how HIS Giants were going to "demolish Ebbets Field", but I think that was misunderstood by his father, my grandfather, thinking my father said that HE was going to demolish Ebbets Field. Yet nonetheless, he died with his New York ballcap, but he shared lots of stories when he went to both the Polo Grounds and Ebbets to watch them play. Me? I'm an Oakland A's fan, since 1972 - even through the 1988 season, the "season of hurt". THANK YOU for uploading this. My father would have been happy to see this.
1:39 my favorite part of this documentary, great music and the view of Dodger Stadium from the top deck will always be breathtaking I still have the original VHS tape of the 100th anniversary of Dodgers history GO DODGERS 5/25/23
Didn't miss much. Dodgers didn't do much for the next 30 years. And a thought...never trade Will Smith. He'll have the impact of Yogi, only with freckles.
At 22:54, the large number 7th actually is not a 7 at all! Some people forget that some typesettings, when using the style of handwriting, in making the letter T (which is actually what it is) look like the number seven. Fittingly, that mistake hurt the Dodgers (lol) as the Yankees won the whole "Tth"!
Man they really made this during an innocent time in Dodger history. The mostly disappointing '90s and early '00s, the sale to Fox then the sale to McCourt, and the SNLA fiasco were still yet to happen.
@@willardmusick1187 tbh it actually started decent enough. They traded for Manny and made two straight NLCS appearances. Thing is they decided to announce their divorce DURING the '09 NLCS and it went downhill from there.
@@willardmusick1187 That clown still owns the Dodgers parking lot. Even after getting the boot, he still makes millions and millions off of the Dodgers

I was there when Garvey, Lopes, Russell and Cey were playing...those where great times in Dodger history...I'll never forget them...
A great tribute to the first 100 years of the team and in particular to the great Vin Scully who will never be replaced.

I am a Life long Dodger fan because of this film beautifully narrated by Vin wow!!
The Dodgers move to Los Angeles was the worst most terrible betrayal in the history of American sports.
"Go west, young man"
I just watched a highlight film of the Giants first 125 years. Was about 15 minutes .
Good that’s all that bum ass franchise deserves.
Vin scully telling the DODGERS story is a real treat, thank you very much for this classic gift, much appreciated 🙏👌 GREETINGS FROM BELGIUM
This is the first comment about Dodgers winning 2020 World Series here. Congrats!
I'm a A's fan. Was trying to avoid it.
I'm a young fan, but I promise I will live and die with this team, when the bury me it will be in a dodgers uniform
Listening to Vin Scully over the years makes me wish I was a Dodger fan sometimes...
1927-2022 Thanks Vin Say hi to all the dodgers gods and of course Jerry Dogget.

Blame Robert Moses
my parents bought this video for me at a dodger game in 1990. I have watched it many times through the years. Great documentary
Great video, I love the Dodgers, it was my dads team, my team, and my sons.
I used to watch this video many times as a kid in the 90's.
Thanks for posting.

Great to see this available online! Was this sourced from the VHS or the laserdisc?
From the VHS
It came in a plain brown paper bag
Hope this team wins many would series. They gave black player's the right to play baseball.

The McCourt era was so embarrassing for the Dodgers, LA, California, baseball, civility... I felt bad for the team, and I'm an A's fan.
