    I love your analogy of kicking the fraction over to the right and that's the order for your (my) long division. That has been confusing me so badly when trying to convert a fraction to a decimal. But now I get it!! You're wonderful!

    just graduated HS 3 months ago and I need Calc 1 for my AAS, and I did Dual Enrollment which made it so that I finished all my college basics already. However in HS i took Calc BC(Calculus one and two in one class), and when i took the accuplacer the first time I sadly only got enough to place into Pre cal which I am not willing to waste my time on, going for a second attempts around 6 months later now with 0 studying, your video has some good tips, I realized I just forgot some small little things that I would normally do on a calculator and I never did word problems in Calc BC so some of the word problems tripped me up. hoping to get the highest score this time.

Next I have the arithmetic. I'm studying my eyeballs off! I see you didn't pass the arithmetic the first time out. Surely you passed by now! Are you in the RN program now?

      That's what happened to me. I couldn't pass the math portion of the Accuplacer, so they made me take the lower division math to get up to speed for College Algebra. Now I've changed my mind about becoming an RN. It takes too darned long and I'm already 66 years old, so I've decided to enroll in the Licensed Practical Nurse school. I won't say the 4 classes I've taken toward my Associates Degree in Nursing are a waste though. Maybe I'll transition to an ADN someday. But I need Next Gen Accuplacer Arithmetic either way. I wish I knew a long time ago how important math was to our futures.

    • @CazAcademy
      @CazAcademy  Год назад +1

      I'm glad the videos are helpful!
      The College Board updated their exams a few years ago. The Next-Generation Accuplacer is the new version. Next-Generation Arithmetic covers Whole Numbers, Fractions, Decimals, and Percentages. Exponents, Algebra, and Statistics were removed from the Arithmetic exam.
      Next-Generation Reading replaced the Reading Comprehension exam. The new format begins with 4-5 questions from a literary passage, then 4-5 questions comparing opposing points of view, followed by single paragraphs and questions. The prior exam was a series of single questions.
      Next-Generation Writing replaced the Sentence Skills exam. The new format has 4-5 questions per multi-paragrah passage. The prior exam was a series of single questions.
      Official sample questions are available here: accuplacer.collegeboard.org/students/prepare-for-accuplacer/practice-download
      Good Luck on your exam! :)

    @17:35 why is it we’re talking about the number 50 and we’re not dropping down the seven for it to become 75 or 750? I don’t understand. Do I need to look at perhaps just basic division videos before coming back to this. I don’t get it

    • @charmmorningstar7530
      @charmmorningstar7530 Год назад +3

      at 17:33 pf this video. 3 x 25= 75.. when u put 75 below 80, u have to start subtracting. so 80 minus 75 = 5.. since you cannot divide 25 to 5, u have to add 0 and make it 50. now, 50 divided by 25= 2 and put it next to 3 on top. that’s why she came up with 0.32 as an answer

    • @CazAcademy
      @CazAcademy  Год назад +1

      80 - 75 = 5 then drop down the 0 to make 50. Follow the rules for long division.

  • @DNCT
    @DNCT Год назад +3

    @14:43 How did you come up with 60 when there’s a decimal there? I’m very slow with math and I don’t understand this. Because if there was no decimal there I can understand you seen there was 60 but honestly I would’ve seen 600 before I saw 60 because there’s two zeros not just 1. But then also there is a decimals there so I shouldn’t even be able to come up with 60. I don’t get it. Can you explain about zeros and decimals more.

    • @charmmorningstar7530
      @charmmorningstar7530 Год назад +2

      are u referring to option c or d explanation in long division? u always have to bring down one zero when the number cannot be divided anymore. as soon as u start borrowing that zero, u also has to place a decimal point on top. i’m slow at Math too but this one is pretty basic compared to trigonometry and advanced algebra. returning to college after 10yrs so im really reviewing my weakness in case i need to take the test 😅 good luck!

    Isn't 6/100 the same as six cents? 0.06? Maybe there's hope for me yet (unless of course I'm wrong). And if 10 tenths is a dollar, wouldn't 6/10 be the same as 60 cents? .60?

    • @CazAcademy
      @CazAcademy  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, you are correct. When you divide by powers of 10, the number of zeros are the number of spaces to the left you should move the decimal to convert the fraction to a decimal. Good job!
