  • My cup holder stopped working and when i pulled it out the console the spring fell out. I could not find any info on how to repair it so I worked out how to fix it myself and created a how to video for those in the same situation. Hope it helps

    Couldn't you have dispensed the music and the moving things around like a pea under three walnut shells and just calmly explained what you were doing?

    Hi, my lid over the cup holder won't close or open when the cup holder is in place. It just gets stuck in the middle of the movement. Any solutions to this problem? (The cup holder fits perfectly)

      Only little problem u might be able to answer this is the latch u attached at the end of the video isn't that supposed to be go into up right position when closing the cup holder?
      A few days ago my son hit the cup holder when it was open with hes elbow and I could not close it anymore, thus I started the search on repairing it and found your live saver guide :) I mean what is a driver without a prober Coffe Cup Holder? :)
      If I manipulate the latch into horizontal position it can close otherwise it gets stuck any ideas?
      I removed it for now and it works very fine is just I believe something broke

    Mercedes W211 cup holder repair -----------> 🗑
    Best thing i ever did was pull out and trash that foolishly designed unstable nonsensical gizmo contraption! Now i just put my coffee cup in the nice size remaining hole. Just put a few napkins in the bottom should there be any drips. Can fit my phone and wallet in there too. Or whatever. No more nonsense!

    I know this is an old video, but the tutorial showing how to reset a spring saved me from having to order a new cup holder.

    First of all how do you get it out the car . And this video is fast and don't explain what to do .

      You can pull the assembly out. Sit in the driver's seat, and with your right hand palm-down, curl your four (non-thumb) fingers down and hook them into the top edge of the cup assembly and pull up with those fingers. It will pop up and you can take it out. I found it easier to do after leaving the car in the sun -- the plastic was a tiny bit more pliable, I guess.
