Julia of course having the most wholesome (and correct, imo) reaction to the notorious "HAHAHA" scene :) Ppl are so quick to brand any moment of unabashed silliness or playfulness as "cringe" because of how profoundly insecure they are about how they are perceived by others and how vulnerable an unguarded moment of exuberance makes them feel

Many of Kimahri's weapons also have that same "Piercing" attribute that most of Auron's weapons do, so he can also be used to effectively strike chonky armored fiends.

God I hate that "cringe" stance everybody takes. Seriously guys: it is supposed to be awkward and forced, they are literally trying to push down enormous baggage, hence the over-the-top laugh, that's the whole point of the scene. Criticizing it just proves you are not even paying attention
Julia proving she is the best with every upload! Tidus' laughing scene like others mentioned is a big insight into who Julia is as a person and a gamer ❤🎉
Your reaction to the "laughing scene" is one of the (many) reasons I absolutely have been loving your playthrough of my all time favorite game. You fully understood what the scene was doing and didn't just focus on the forced laughing and say "this is cringe." or "this is bad voice acting" because those people that say that, do not understand that that first laugh is SUPPOSED to sound fake and forced. Then that leads to them both actually laughing together. That scene is one that always gets to me and makes me love Tidus and Yuna more and more.
I hope you keep enjoying your time in Spira and the amazing characters in it.

Using Yuna to cure party members in battle counts as participation and will earn her AP. You don't have to have her comically impotently whack fiends with her staff :) And defending also counts.
defending also counts as participating, and its the fasted action the characters can do.
edit: sorry, for some reason i completely missed you bringing defend as well.
@@marcosdheleno Little late here, it's been awhile since I played but I'm pretty sure that changing equipment in combat is the fastest way to earn participation. At least according to the turn timer, not animationwise though.
@@Uutinen i thought both changing equips and defending had the same timer cost. and defending gives you, well less damage taken if you are hit, and changing your equip may be detrimental depending on the character and what you change.
@@marcosdheleno the changing equipment is slightly faster then def/using items from what I remember, and you could just change to the same item over and over again which is a little weird but 😅😂

That was one of the most epic game overs I've ever seen a Final Fantasy player take that I had to come back to it today and watch it again!

2nd. I was half watching but more listening to this during my 45 min drive home. The whole time im thinking.. "she is not healing outside of battle after fights... she gonna die."

Horde ALL the healing items and use them like a dying millionaire. Cant take it with ya. 😊.
Loving the learning curves. Keep up thr grind. The payoff of this story is worth ALL set-backs, G.O.'s, and painstaking grinding. ❤
She actually beat the Chocobo Eater. I can probably count the number of people I've watched do that on RUclips on their first try with a single hand, most get pushed off the cliff.
what i dont get is why almost noone even retries that fight. its like they see themselves failing, and just accept it as "oh well, i guess it was meant to be..."

@@marcosdhelenoI think it has something to do with sin itself. Sin instills the concept of "you're not supposed to win every fight" from the very beginning of the game, and is just difficult enough to present the option that maybe this is the case for this fight as well
So when you did the summoner battle against Ifrit, the reason you didn't get an extra turn from Sonic Wings is because Ifrit is immune to 'Delay'.
Sonic Wings causes the 'Delay' effect, and the turn order shows your upcoming turns as though it always works. But if the enemy is immune to 'Delay' you obviously don't get the benefit.
That's basically what happened. An even bigger complication is that Sonic Wings is naturally a 'faster' attack in the games programming. So sometimes you WILL get the turn even when the enemy is immune, but not because of the delay affect, just because it's a weak, fast attack.

Also add-on to the summon fight. Saw you using the delay enemy turn move a lot.
1st. Yes, you are seeing that you get an extra turn on the list to the side, but that is what would be IF the atk hits OR works. When you were hitting him above the dmg done, is the word "Immune." That means he is immune to the delay effect of the attack, which is why he would sometimes go right after you.
ALSO, after you use a limit break/overdrive from an aeon there is a huge delay before you get to go again and that's why you couldn't block the atk like the text was telling you. The programmers didn't account for someone using a limit break first turn. Those are used more as a Finishing Move than an Opening move in the eyes of the creators of the game. But like I said it in my first post.
All part the learning curve.
And yes, black magic is a thing for aeons.
Pro trick: Wondering what would happen if you hit an aeon with their own matching elemental atk???
The instant karma interrupting a nonsense justification of item hording was perhaps the most satisfying thing I've ever seen.
I've never understood why people item horde so much in these games, especially such easy RPG titles like Final Fantasy.
Yuna is your healing/support person when not summoning, her Nul spells are more useful than you think. Also when you were at the shop and got a primer you were unsure if you missed a primer and you actually did miss 1 of the primers earlier in previous episode, you were actually next to it in the sphere stadium in luca, you can actually still get it if you went back.
The laugh scene is one of my favourite final fantasy scenes. Just a guy that's had a bomb dropped on him, forcing himself to laugh.
Yuna is literally the best! Like, not ironically or hyperbole... THE best character in gaming!
1:24 the best part of that revelation is that, you look at tidus, you look at sin, and you think "that's nonsensical!" but, somehow, as you play, and more info is revealed it starts to make sense. the game does feed you piecemeal each bit of info, but yeah, by the end of the game, it all makes sense.
Also I played FFX for like 20 years and this is the first time I listened to the "new" OST for the remaster because I was always fond of the nostalgia but it's legit amazing.
All character share the same amount of XP if they are use. I said that in the early stage of yuna, unless you're not using her for summon or healing the party, just bring her out and put her on guard and then switch her out again, cause she still gonna get the xp anyways even if she not attacking or healing.
Such an incredible game full of such heart warming and also heart wrenching scenes.

Defeating Belgemine & Chocobo eater at Mihen Highroad are the mpst satisfying in that area for reasons 😂
Yes. Each fiend is worth a certain amount of ap. Everybody who takes a turn in battle gets the ap for the fiends defeated. Double for fiends overkilled. I make sure everyone gets at least one turn in every battle, even if all they do is guard for one turn and then get switched out, they get the ap.

It's amazing how good this game still holds up after over 20 years! Both graphically and story/gameplay wise. And the MUSIC! Damn!
Well, the first HD Remaster on PS3 is from 2013, so not that old 😊
@@ManiacTobi It's a remaster, not a remake, there are few tweaks here and there, slightly better textures and colors thanks to HD upscaling, orchestral music and that's it. It's not looking and sounding drastically better than the OG. I remember vividly that this game looked amazing around 2002. Cutscenes for sure looked as amazing as right now.
@@przemysawdobrzynski2590 the irony is, depending on who you ask, the original game actually looks better, also its technically not a true remaster, but a literal remake, since they lost the source code and original resources from the game, and had to, again literaly, remade them from scratch trying to make it as close to the original as possible.
happened with both ffx, x-2 and kingdom hearts(dont remember if that was the case for kh2 and xii as well).
@@przemysawdobrzynski2590 you should play the OG again. Just upscaling the textures would never look so good. Also, the characters have more polygons, so you cannot just put the upscaled OG textures on them. I mean, just look at Wakkas head and hair.
@@ManiacTobi yeah, basically what I wrote, upscaling and more polygons, It looks gorgeous right now, but it didn't look bad when it first came out. I remember comparing it with other games of that year and it was still outstanding for 2001/2002.
2:50 i was one of the people who brought up the spheregrid point skipping. its something that is not a big issue if you miss once, but if you start missing every once in a while, by the end, you would be gimped.
now dont get it wrong, the game is completely playable even if you dont level the spheregrid AT ALL.
there's even a challenge run where people play the game without leveing anything, or even using overdrives(HELL, there's a challenge run that has almost nothing avaliable besides the most basic actions, even running from battles is prohibited!)
Not really a spoiler but there's an option in settings to remember the cursor position in battle (attack, white magic, etc) from the last option selected so you don't have to scroll the menu as much. :)
Very useful, I use it in any FF where it's available.

I hope it's not considered backseating, just a quality of life tip: sort your items and weapons often, makes it way easier to find stuff
my very first time playing the game I got stuck at High Road because the monsters were too hard and I hadn't spend nearly enough time leveling up. I also probably didnt understand core game mechanics like equipment and stuff. But High Road was so hard that I deleted my save file and started over. Why? idk.
but seeing the game over screen here for you, reminded me of those days. High Road is a pretty big jump in difficulty.
I love the laughing scene, I find it funny how unfunny Tidus’ situation is. He’s not doing well, but he’s trying to follow what Yuna asked him to do, and that she acknowledges it by saying he doesn’t have to keep going. For some reason I find that hilarious

One of at least a couple scenes that gets me in the feels.
I save character overdrives and aeon overdrives to use when needed. But not tidus's. Gotta use his right away. Using his overdrives teaches him new ones. He gets a total of 4. Spiral cut becomes obsolete once you get the next one. Actually, by the time I get here I already have all of tidus's overdrives. But that's just me. I don't just play games i like, i master them.

G'day Julia! I only started watching your playthrough of Final Fantasy X and seeing you absolutely enjoy the game! Seeing your reaction when you first saw Tidus at the start of the game, it was like, "OMG, he's so damn hot!" 😂😂😂 I've played all Final Fantasy games from 1 though to 15, except 11 and 14, as they are online and I don't play online games. Final Fantasy is just a brilliant series and other games you may like are Final Fantasy VIII, Final Fantasy IX (seriously brilliant), Final Fantasy XII and maybe Final Fantasy XIII. Final Fantasy XIII is rather different (you may like it or not like it).

To be clear, Sin had nothing to do with the fiends attacking the stadium. Fiends and Sinspawn are different categories of monster.

In many jrpgs where potions are cheap you can just buy 99 and spam them, no need to save resources in these games.

Summon Ifriet when fighting 3 bombs. Their attacks can't hurt him and he can kill one at a time with 2 or 3 normal attacks each.

A "grand summons" summons an aeon with a full overdrive bar, not very useful now, but it will be ever so useful later.
I'd say it's pretty useful at any time. If you Grand summon an aeon that already has a full overdrive bar, you can overdrive twice in a row. That's always pretty useful to me

Yuna is one of the strongest characters in video game history.
here's a tip. if you ever find yourself in need of going through the area with as few fights as possible. put tidus out of the party, so if you get into a fight, on your first turn, you can swap to tidus and use his "FLEE" ability.
its a guaranteed escape from battle. after the fight, you do it again, putting someone in his place from the menu.
this will make it so unless you get back attacked, you will always be able to get out without taking damage. you should still make sure everyone is at full health just in case you run into something nasty.
Once I get wakka's second overdrive, I stop playing blitzball until I can get wakka on my team again. So he's not pitifully weak compared to everyone else.
For XP in the fight: as long as a character takes an action on the fight like attacking using items, overdrives or their own skills, they will get xp for the fight. I am a min/maxed freak so I would make evwry character have an action in every fight in my game. Don't do that that's sicko-mode. Just cycle them out if you find yourself using the same characters over and over
yep, comming from another sicko-mode min/maxer yeah, doing that is not for everyone, its still a good idea to do that on boss fights, since they give a ton of xp. but its not necessary, and can be pretty exhaustive.
You can use Yuna's Cure outside of battle btw. Maybe you figure that out later in the video though. I'm like an hour in.

The laugh scene is probably one of my favourite scenes in all of the FF's and it frustrates me so much when people meme on it because they clearly dont understand the context or they are just plain oblivious or just chasing clout. Either way it's GREAT scene

hell, i remember some years ago someone comented that even with context that scene was bad, because that laugh was too fake. no joke, some people have to literaly have everything overexplained and they still dont get it.
@@marcosdheleno objectively speaking, it's just about maturity, background, and experience, most gamers are children or children at heart (or worse, in the brain) so memes that miss the point would exist. I was a kid when I played many of the early beloved Final Fantasy titles FF8/9/10/13, back then I couldn't relate to the characters, but after playing them again as an adult, I finally understood the essence of the characters' motives and behaviors.

You need to play another tournament and get attack reels for wakka.

if you really want to win in blitzball there is a way just score one time catch the ball and hide in the back of the goalkeeper on second half try to steal the ball at all cost hide in back of the goalkeeper until time's out i did that to get wakka's ultimate weapon
