  • How BAD was Mark Sanchez Actually?
Mark Sanchez was drafted by the New York Jets in 2009 with the 5th overall pick. Despite the great start he had in the NFL, he was cast aside relatively quickly. Was this all on him? In this video we take a deep dive into the career of Mark Sanchez. From being a game away from the superbowl on 2 separate occasions to being something of a memeable player from eating a hotdog on the sideline to his infamous "butt fumble" moment.
In the video we also talk about his upbringing, his college career at USC and if the Jet's did everything they could to get the most out of the QB. By the end of the video we will give Mark Sanchez a final grade for his career in the NFL to find out truly just how bad Mark Sanchez actually was.

i'd like to have seen sanchez stayed for his final year. i think that the trajectory of the 'sc football program would have continued in that golden age dynasty for a little longer. barkley wouldn't have had to play as a freshman, still redshirt (possibly), and maybe would have had that legendary career that everyone expected of him and sanchez might have been a much much better pro at least sticking around before his prime maybe at least team hopping till his body was no more. i didn't see someone like carson palmer playing till as long as he wanted because he wasn't as flashy or talented.

You didn't mention that the owner sabotaged Sanchez and the entire season in Year 4 in an attempt to save $1 million. Woody Johnson held off on firing OC Brian Schottenheimer until the end of January in the hopes that he wouldn't have to pay Schottenheimer. When that failed, they fired Schottenheimer anyway and then were somehow shocked to find that all of the best available offensive coordinators had been taken. So the Jets then had to draw from the bottom of the barrel and ended up hiring Tony Sparano...a guy who had zero experience as an OC or playcaller. The result was predictable..

Pete Carrol said he needed another year to develop but he didn’t listen, still he help lead his team to 2 straight AFC championship, and I know largely due to the defense but he never lossed those afc title games either. Also his one year starting for the eagles he did good despite not making the playoffs. I’ve seen way worse quarterbacks start for a couple years like rex grossman lol

I am a Broncos Fan. When McDaniels was the most terrible coach the Broncos have ever had, I remember Sanchez was a franchise quarterback at such a young age and coaches said they wish they could have drafted him. McDaniels was fired and the Broncose being the second worse team tge previous year drafted Von Miller. During a Broncos game Miller injured Sanchez bad leading the Broncos to a victory. Sanchez was never the same guy after his injury. Like how RG III was not the same after his injury.
