I guess I have to be “that guy”. Well, actually, that’s no the Lilly Belle. That is just the caboose. It is usually pulled behind Holiday 2. You can indeed ride in it, but unfortunately you can’t go into the cupola. The Lilly Belle is an observation car, and you cannot ride in it (you used to be able to on the paid Grand Circle Tour).
My favorite things at Disneyalnd: Dinosaurs, Disneyland Band (particularly at Castle Promenade or Frontierland), Canoes, Main Street Vehicles, Mr Toad and Casey Jr and/or Storybook Canal Boats. Oh and the Castle Walthrough
That park is home. My dad used to be custodian there and so we would go maybe twice a year (he didn't live with me) but one thing I learned this past year of me going was exactly that last must do. When we go it be busy, busy ride this, ride that, and catch the show. But recently, I got to go fairly close to each other, and I just wondered around, by myself, and just took in the atmosphere. My cousin that got me in (for free) couldn't walk very fast so it was actually a blessing to 1. Spend time with her who I hadn't seen in over 8 years and 2. Take everything in. Definitely a magical memory that I will never forget. ❤
A must do for me would be to actually make it to DL. I live in Georgia and go to DW often since it's just a 7 1/2 hour drive but have only been to DL when I was too young to remember. I was born in Cucamonga and we lived in Covina but moved from CA when I was 3. I'm told we went often. I won't be getting beignets. I don't like them. I've been to NOLA lots of times and have had them at Cafe Du Monde and didn't like them. I ate half of one and threw the rest of it away. Hubby ate one and we gave the rest on the plate to the people we were with. I've also tried them at POFQ thinking maybe I was remembering wrong, again, nope. Ate one and threw the rest away. Too sweet for me. I also won't be eating the fried chicken. Yes, I'm from Georgia and don't eat fried chicken. In my defense, I stopped eating fried food about 20 years ago and with few exceptions still don't.
Quincy, I had my first trip to Disneyland in May 2023. I teared up on the fire engine vehicle, too. I did nearly everything on your list. I have been to WDW many times. I LOVE Disneyland ❤️ It's like Walt's spirit is still there 😊 I can't wait to visit there again 😍
I do like Disneyland better than disneyworld in many ways. But at the same time I appreciate disneyworld for its grandeur in size. Just so much to see and do. But Quincy at Disneyland makes it the best ❤
Here’s my request for a video: I always wonder how long I’d have to stay in D Land/World to have the perfect trip. To do everything I want to do, taking it easy, with resort days as often as necessary. Of course that’s going to be different for each person, but just a rough estimate would be fun to know.
My favorite place to people watch is on the porch on Main Street across from candy palace. Especially at the end of the day. That’s where I eat my dope whip on my way out occasionally. Just sitting and watching the lights, the completely satisfied and spent people leaving, or the ones still with a lot of energy, the kids and adults eating ice cream and just loving everyone’s smile. It really is magic.
I wish people would stop riding the horse carriages. Do you think they look happy? It’s so cruel pulling all of that all day long. Look into the cruelty of it and what it does to horses.
i loveee disneyland! I’m going again in july for the first time in 6 years (i was supposed to go in 2020 but couldn’t because of covid) and i’m so excited even though im not going for almost 5 months🤷🏻♀️
Can we get an update to Space here in Orlando? I can't ride it anymore as the rickety loud pure dark atmosphere gives me panic attacks. I just want a smooth fun ride through space man! I hope they spend some money on a proper refurb for it soon.
Great summary. Thank you for the wonderful video! I would eat at Jolly Holiday every day if I could. Sit in the shade and watch Main Street or hear the piano player. and always get the grilled cheese with soup
We are going to Disneyland for the first time in May so this video was exceptionally helpful. We are very excited to experience the history and nostalgia. And I feel compelled to note that I am the pickle person in my relationship.
This is probably my favorite all ears video ever! It reminded me of an article you did on the Disneyland blog after your first visit of your 50 or maybe 100 favorite things you learned, or something like that. I thought it was amazing and I agreed with everything. Your sincere respect for this first Disney park just shines through. Kudos from a 76 year old fan. I would be honored to let you have the pickles on my plate!
Does anybody remember Videopolis? There used to be an outdoor dance club at Disneyland way back in the MTV days of the 80s. It was where the Fantasyland Theater sits today. As a young teen, I loved it. It was an added dimension to Disneyland which is sadly no longer there. But great memories!
Quincy, have you done the echo in Tomorrowland? There's a circle near the entrance to Innovations and if you stand there and talk you'll hear an echo that only you can hear. People, even nearby won't be able to hear it, just you. ☺
Tearing up watching families make memories with their grandparents and kids is like one of my main theme park past times hahah
We are taking my 2 grandkids in May! haha

You can ride in the Lily Belle if you do the railroad tour they just started offering again. It’s a great tour capped off with the ride, worth the $$
Stopping at Snow. Whites wishing well is most important to me
I appreciate Quincy getting sappy about Disneyland. There’s something special about the original park. 🥹
I didn’t know Quincy is from Charlotte! 👑

Loving the Disneyland content! I'm going for the first time next week ❤ (have been to WDW like 7-8 times though) 😊
It's a dream to eventually visit the original park. Now I have to save up 😅 also, heck yes to Charlotte NC!

Quincy is the new Stacey. Most probably won’t understand what that means, but trust me it’s 100% true.

The Grand Canyon AND Primeval World. Very important.
I don't know about his spirit, but Walt's frozen head is under the ice cream shop on Main Street. Google it.

Hyperspace Paris... just make sure you have a cusion/pad for the back of your head. It was a rough stop.

If money was no object. A fantasy trip.
Pinocchio’s Daring Journey isn’t a 1950s attraction. It opened in 1983 when they re-did Fantasy Land.

Omg same
Great list! I’m always astounded by the roaming characters. They interact so well with guests.
We are going in May, it'll be my 11 year old grandsons first time. We are soooo disappointed Haunted Mansion will be closed!

I would love to. unfortunately, disneyland has been priced out of reason, have no plan to go anytime in the foreseeable future.
They've been mentioning DFB alot lately.... Merger incoming?
Love Q❤
How did I just learn Quincy is from Charlotte!?!
I'm sure you've heard this before, but you are a great speaker and presenter.
Where do you get mint julep at Magic Kingdom?
Casey's corner
I thought you said you made it, “ two by two”!😂

I loved sitting on a bench to take a rest and just counting how many Dodger's hats I could spot in a 30 minute period. 102, by the way. 😁
Can confirm. My wife is my designated pickle person.
I’m a pickle person and my husband is my designated non-pickle person. Can recommend

Disneyland is so, so special ❤️🩹
Eating DoleWhip while experiencing the Enchanted TikiRoom
Need to try spicy 🥒 pickle!

I meant on the all ears blog of course

Yes! We used to get into tge Park for $10 general admission and meet girls from all over Southern California.
I was so disappointed when they closed Mickey's Toon Town, in the Magic Kingdom. I wanted my granddaughters to see it!🥲
It closed? Oh man
Disneyland Railroad seats face sideways, because of the dioramas. They have two rows of long side-facing benches.
Two of the trains are sideways and two aren't.
So excited to be getting to go there later this year!
what are they doing to City hall?
There isn't anything must do in critter country?
I mean, splash mountain
