Are brands ever sustianable if it's all just about selling more stuff? This #indexaward2023 nominee created a clever intervention to help improve what's already on the market.
We had a chat with Borre Akkersdijk, Founder and Creative Lead of BYBORRE 🧶, about how they're disrupting the #textileproduction model. Akkersdijk shares his views on greenwashing, democratising bespoke textiles, and how they're helping companies across industries transition to more transparent, efficient and conscious supply chains.
"In this time and age, we need to approach [creating textiles] with an open-source mindset," says Akkersdijk. "And as a society, we need to make better, more controlled and less products."
ByBORRE Create™ enables creatives to produce their own knitted textiles from responsible yarns that are "totally fit to purpose". Users can design digitally, sample quickly and, if needed, produce at scale.
