Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.
Wow just seeing this out of the box ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
Patience is a virtue ! I've learnt in my 30 some odd years of fishing is that you need to tease them and be patient , If you rush you'll end up with nothing . Good things come to those who wait ! Most fish won't attack a bait if it's to active ' They prefer a easy target ! Great video keep up the good work .......
New to fishing with lures. This has been my first year being that we just moved near lake Lanier in Gainesville ga. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!! I subscribed so I'll be seeing ya buddy! Thanks again! Caught 2 3-4 pound bass since I started a couple months ago. Hooked many more but lost them. Loving every minute of it!
Just tried my new popper yesterday for the first time, didn't get any hits but thanks for this great video!! I have faith my popper will get me a nice bass!! :)
Best time to use it is right after sunset when the mosquitos come out and the other fishermen go home. Just look for the fish hitting the surface for bugs and you found a feeding flat that's perfect for poppers.
Wow I'm early early.I use 10-12 lb line and have no issues. My grandpa and I use light action medium Rods for smallies and Have no Problems. these Tips U Have given Is really helpfull. As A Young Angler Im Still Learning and Im Trying To gather as Much Info As I Can. Thankyou For The Info You Have Given Us.
i have some new poppers work great but very difficult to get your line through the line keeper because its recessed deep in the face of the bait. should i add a split ring or will it weigh the pooper down? any help would be great
I’ve caught so many fish off a popper when I stop to take a phone call and it’s been sitting for a while. It has suprised me I caught a decent 4 lber while it sat for a solid 2 minutes
I pull mine across like a topwater lure. Mine looks exactly like that with a little bit different coloration and I tear them up every time. The one I use is so beat up from about 20 years of use and they still hit it. LOL it's been my favorite for years and years
What do you have for fishing topwater on a weedy pond. I've tried hollow body frogs they really haven't worked there are big Blooms of lily pads in certain spots the pond what advice do you have
Keep up the videos, it's one of the reasons I kept my subscription. Ton of fun for a beginner like me to get a box and try out the baits with some instruction
Flourcarbon leader does it ruin it bad cuz in my area there is no bass so i have pike and i need flourcarbon so its not bite my line off srry for bad eng
I've had the problem of big smallmouths coming up and shaking the popper out; epically whopper plopper. I always keep tension but I've been wondering if there is a way to keep them from shaking it out. I've thought about learning to back real. Any ideas?
Not all mono floats. I personally prefer sinking mono (but not for surface lures, tbh). Furthermore, how can one talk about the parabolic bend helping set the hooks right, when one just said that there is no difference between mono and braid? This makes no sense. Braid has no stretch when compared to mono and that makes a big difference. Furthermore, not everyone around the world is striking the fish like there's no tomorrow, risking to rip its head off. But ok, whatever.
I have no idea where this is but it looks exactly as I remember a spot I used to fish from crappie with my dad when I was a wee lad. It was killer in the spring when they were spawning and we could walk in and get out of heavy wind blowing from any direction.
I have a pond that has many different types of fish. But there are large mouth bass and black bass in there that i can never seem to catch. I have tried various methods and spots that i know they hang out at but sadly i can't even get them to react.
Ok, Mono or Braid. But what about fishing waters that have nasty toothy critters? Like Pike or pickerel? What should one use for a leader if specifically targeting those species?
I’ve never had luck with these or jerkbaits. I know it’s something I’m doing wrong because the minute I switch to something else I catch fish. I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong.
I have always been partial to the rebel magnum poppers, but I do love topwater fishing! I caught my PB on a whopper plopper yesterday! I also always catch something with at least one of the lures i get in LTB ;D
So if I only have a 6"0 rod what type of fish can I catch with it? Also haven't spooled line onto it yet, I'm a newbie fisherman if you will lol, so what type of fishing line would you advise me to put on my reel? I know 8lb monofilament is good for bass but what kind of bait should I use if I have a shorter rod? Thanks. Love your videos so far. Just subscribed 😎
I used a 6 foot medium fast action rod for years. Spooled with 12 pound stren mono. I caught tons of bass. Up to 5 and 6 pounds on a 1/4 ounce spinnerbait and Texas rig from 1/8 ounce up to a 1/4 ounce. Don’t get caught up in buying a rod for each technique like I did. It’s a money pit. With a 6’9 medium fast, 7’ medium heavy fast and 7’3 heavy fast you can do just about everything with.
Off topic question....I fish a pond that has 5-10lb bass in it. It is unfished beings that it's on my work property. Well the conditions are terrible, nothing but grassy mat everywhere. It's honestly horrendous and I don't know how to get these fish. I use a frog but I want different options. It's pretty shallow, and there's literally nothing but THICK mat everywhere. Please help!!!!
damen schneider maybe a heavy bullet sinker with a worm hook with a plastic of your choice it should be weedless an fall through the weeds to get where bass are this should work
Just an fyi for new fishermen, everything he stated for equipment needed is not entirely true you can use anything you want, he is right on fluorocarbon though do not use that. Either way I use 8 lb line on my popper and it works just fine with about a 6 foot rod idk exact.
I'm kinda new to fishing and I always use fluorocarbon, I did not know that it sinks and is terrible with topwater lures, maybe that's y every since I switched my frogs have gone to shit.

The footage at 2:40 is perfect. Saw something similar to this while fishing yesterday, threw on the popper, and fish on. Thanks!

Bass King thanks!!
Bass seem lazy. I had better luck with salt water fish.
@@totalannihilation9065 it depends on colors of the baits certain colors make them aggressive also the baits
@@totalannihilation9065they are extremely lazy. You almost have to put the bait in their mouth or they’re not going to strike it seems.

Well crafted instructional video. Straight and to the point, very informative. Subscribed!

Typhoonbladefist depends on body of water species of bass i have a smallmouth lake and best time on my lake for any top water is noon
I think that sunset is generally better for most topwater baits. Especially a giant popper.
BLUE LIVES DONT MATTER blue lives do matter

Poppers are my favorite lure to fish with. Those strikes are amazing 👏.
I am currently using a popper and I wanted to learn how to use it and I think this video helped me alot and I give a thanks to u
Popper and Jitter bug are both no brainer topwater magnets, classic lures that always provide a good fun time.

Thank you man! I got a lil spinner rod and just getting back into fishing after years. This helps a lot. Any advice on crankbiats and minnow lures?
I caught my second best bass on 2lb line don't remember what kinda line I just know it was 2lb and a little panfish rod
Musta had good drag
ok
My main line is 6lb mono and I slay bass, walleye, and sometimes even 10lb catfish.
I just keep 50 pound braided and i never get snagged lol
Enjoy your sub pound bass
i have some new poppers work great but very difficult to get your line through the line keeper because its recessed deep in the face of the bait. should i add a split ring or will it weigh the pooper down? any help would be great
awesome video. I wish all videos were all this, explaining pairing what type of line and rod and why to pair it with them.
Most informative video I have found on a popper ty you earned a sub and nice beard can’t wait until my little beard gets that big ❤️🎣🎣🎣🎣

Good video. Last year I caught my PB bass so for on a small popper 8.25 lbs. Can't wait to get out & use my top water baits in this months LTB.
Robby Stribling 6lber yesterday in the Everglades on a popper not my pb but it is my top water pb

Do you put weights on this lure?
Right to the point. Good video 👍👍

Thanks for the tips mate! What lake was this filmed at?
Your suppose to make that "popping" sound right? Like a hula popper?
How can i cast the popper since it basically ways nothing! Any advice, i want to learn to cast it far although it is light??

I got luck on the popper last week. Never used it before which is why I am here. I was popping it like 3 times then letting it sit.
enjoyed the video-great info-just subbed-thanks
Thank you for this tutorial I’m trying to learn how to use poppers
Could you please recommend me a popper to be used in murky salt water river . really expecting a reply.
Murkey water with little cloud cover, go bright. Cloudy and dark, go dark. That's just what I've found to work
Thanks for the tips! Love these videos, makes it really easy to learn

Artificial worms? Or other soft plastics maybe
Is there a specific knot that is recommended if so please tell me thx
Looking forward to test this on Pike in Norway, - just ordered on Ebay.
Any luck,?
What about in a pond with very open not alot of tree cover but have a heavy weed cover under water
What "song" is it in the start at video?
Great video Alex, but do I have to use mono or braid? I like using fluorocarbon, is fluoro that heavy that it sinks the top water lure?
Javier Marin flouro is denser than water which makes in sink and just makes it harder to throw surface baits.
Great video👍
Do you use sinkers ?
What is a good size to buy for fishing bass? 3/8 oz etc...
Thanks!!
Ok, Mono or Braid. But what about fishing waters that have nasty toothy critters? Like Pike or pickerel? What should one use for a leader if specifically targeting those species?
Use heavy mono. So they can't bite through.
Thanks for the tips buddy 🤙
I absolutely love using poppers
What color poppers would you recommend for overcast days and semi clear water??
Ryan Groover bone is always my go to.
Where did you get your cap?
Nice fishing mybro....
How do you cast that popper so far? I put everything I can into the cast and it only goes MAYBE 25-30ft. I thought it was just too light
Lighter line helps alot
I’ve never had luck with these or jerkbaits. I know it’s something I’m doing wrong because the minute I switch to something else I catch fish. I’m just not sure what I’m doing wrong.
what topwater would you prefer in the morning a popper or a walker etc?
MyTopSpinner depends on wat the fish tell you
How do you use a baitcaster
