I've been playing with using AI to isolate vocal tracks, it's really surprising how well it does. I've wanted to do some proper Tool covers for a while, including all the extended variations and additions.
Everything you hear except the vocals is recorded and mixed by me!
Guitar / Bass effects are all through the AxeFX but I've added images that show the effect order path and which effects are active at the time. The images are representing the pedals I am replicating with the AxeFX, not that I'm using those specific pedals.
Guitar:
Epiphone Adam Jones Les Paul Custom Signature Model (Ernst Fuchs)
AxeFX II Mk II for all effects
Mesa Boogie Badlander 100W w/ 3Sigma Audio impulse
Marshall DSL20HR w/ 3Sigma Audio impulse
AxeFX VH4 Model w/ 3Sigma Audio impulse
Bass:
ESP LTD B4-E
Nordstrand Big Blademan 4 pickups (EMG35 housing)
AxeFX II Mk II for all effects
GK700RB w/ 3Sigma Audio impulse
Copy of GK700RB signal going into a custom TurboRAT style distortion with EQ w/ 3Sigma Audio impulse
Sansamp RBI
Drums:
Programmed and tempo-synced to the album track and live recordings for the extended parts
GGD Invasion (extra cymbals) and Halpern (most of the kit) kits
Custom 'Mandala' style library w/ 400+ samples
Synths:
Behringer Deepmind 12D
Osirus (Virus emulator)
Mixing:
Waves, Pulsar, and Brainworx plugins
Cubase 12
Camera:
Sony A7iii
Rokinon 35mm Cine lens

🗣️ HELL YEAH!!
Can you help me with choosing the right amps, etc. Unfortunatelly, I have a Telecaster and it's quite a task to get the proper sound out of it. And you nailed it!
All depends on budget and needs!
I wanted to be able to record direct / with impulse responses but use tube amps. I got both of my amps on pretty good deals. I use the Mesa Boogie Badlander and the Marshall DSL20. I have a third “amp tone” coming from a clone of a Sunn Beta Lead preamp.
A humbucker pickup (preferably the SH6 or get a custom made DDJ), a moderately high-gain tube amp (or two) and stay on the bridge pickup and you’ll be quite a ways there.
@@moviescolin as a drummer/acoustic guitarist it's a rocket science for me, for now. Trial and error will do the trick for me I suppose. Cheers, mate!
All I have is a Focusrite sound card and an Amplitube. We'll see how it goes.
@@slaymunk9932 See if Amplitube has amp models of: Marshall Superlead or 100W Plexi; Mesa Dual or Triple Rectifier; Diezel VH4
These are the amps Adam uses or has used. Crank the mids, set the treble a little lower than max, and set the bass between halfway and max somewhere. Gain maybe halfway or so. All into 4x12 impulses from Mesa or Marshall 👍🤘
Fuck yeahhh!!
