  • In this video we explore all the shipwrecks in Cape Town you can visit by foot. There are easy ones you can drive up to but also ones you have to hike a distance to get too. There are many more that you can visit by diving or snorkelling in the waters around Cape Town. My personal favourite was the Kakapo seeing it felt like I was in a desolate place.
Here are some of the locations of the shipwrecks:
Wreck Of The Kakapo (1900), Beach Rd, Noordhoek, Cape Town, 7976

Bos 400, Unnamed Road, Hout Bay, Cape Town, 7872
Remains of the Commodore II shipwreck, Lagoon Beach, Cape Town, 7405

Awesome series, Garnett. I have to say I smiled when I saw the Starbucks key chain on your backpack - brings back memories. 🤣 My favourite is the Bos 400. Congratulations with the 1000 and growing subscribers! Stay blessed.

You mention the Antipolis, but not the Romelia (off Llandudno, finally disappearing below the waves several years ago), both ran aground in 1977 after their respective tow ropes snapped. 👍

Awesome, I did not even know about the Romelia, I’ll definitely go and read about it 😁, do you know if there is any remains left to see?

@@garnettsnyman no, it's all gone (below water level). I used to hike to Oude Schip almost weekly, parking at the Sunset Rocks car park in Llandudno, one weekend it was gone. I can't remember when, probably in the mid-2000s.

@@Visionery1 I’ve just seen everyone else confirming online that it’s gone and disappeared under the sand, it’s sad I would have loved to visit this one

This is a well thought out and well put together video brother. Well done. The Bos 400 hike is definitely high on my list for when I'm back in Cape Town.

this great vid is proof that the cape is not part of south africa. those wrecks would be gone in a day or two in gauteng.
