    Smooth like butter 👍

    That is some incredible scenery! The bad thing about being the pilot is that you don't have much opportunity to take it all in. Nice to see the K1600 working the switchbacks well.

      You are so right. I have tried to get better at stopping and taking breaks but find myself consumed by the ride itself so I end up forgetting all about it… 😅 oh well, I have another trip planned for this summer so maybe then I will for once succeed! 👍🏻

    You are very confident and stable on taking those turns with that wild tilting road. What is your secret?

      Hi, I think one of the most important things to remember when cornering not just tight hairpins but curves in general, is to look where you want to go. Keep your chin up and don't look down on the ground next to you, even if you feel like falling over. Because you will inevitably go in the direction you look. Then even when exiting a curve really slow, keep the momentum on your bike using throttle control to straighten it up. It becomes natural after a while. Thank you very much for asking an important question like that 👍

    I went to the same place a week ago. It was cloudy and the weather is so nice^^

      Hi! Thank you! I am using RAM Mount X-grip. It works pretty good 👍🏻

    Quite a workout on a big bike like the K1600!👍I always like to ask the rider what time of the year they made the video? I'm always amazed that they have mass transit busses on these remote, narrow mountain passes! 🤯 Oh well, guess it's an economical way for the workers at the summit to get back and forth.

    • @MotorcycleCameraDrone

      It sure is! And with passenger and full luggage adding to the weight... We did the Gavia and Stelvio pass on the same day. Not sure about those buses, could it be tourists using them as well? (Edit; I was there on july 16.)

    I went from another side 2 months ago. I have started to claim at 6:30 of the morning and it was perfect because I didn’t meet no one car , bike, people, nobody. I highly recommend do it in the morning. All road all Stelvio pass was mine 😊.

      Awesome! I was there late in the afternoon and also very little traffic. I guess maybe since it was in the middle of the week and not the weekend? :)

    One better be in the right gear heading into and out of those turns! Oh. And this guy is not running stock exhaust either. Remus is my first guess.

    • @MotorcycleCameraDrone
      @MotorcycleCameraDrone  10 месяцев назад +1

      You are so right. Regarding the exhaust, they look exactly like stock but perhaps previous owner has done something to it to make it sound different. 🤷‍♂

    Irrespective of the weight. If this bike can handle a pass like this, then it HAS to be maneuverable!!
    Although, you can tell, it's not as quick as an RT in these scenarios. But once it hits the open road, it will leave the RT and most other tourers in the dust!!

    • @MotorcycleCameraDrone
      @MotorcycleCameraDrone  5 месяцев назад +1

      I find the K1600 to be super manoeuvrable and nimble. The bike is good for a lot more than shown in this video considering that at no point in this video did I open the throttle full. 🙂 Also, I had a passenger on and full luggage to add on to the weight of an already heavy bike. Still did really really well. 👍🏻

    Can I ask what camera you were using because without a doubt, it's the clearest video I've watched from a helmet mounted camera. Also, unlike most screens, yours was spotless. You were so lucky with the traffic and weather.

    • @MotorcycleCameraDrone
      @MotorcycleCameraDrone  10 месяцев назад +1

      Hi,
      The camera on my chin is a Gopro Hero 11. The rear mounted one is Hero 8 which I am using mostly to record the sound close to the exhaust but also for a little variation so that not all is static front view from the helmet. And yes, I do try to keep the screen clean as I believe having a clean view adds a little to the whole riding experience. Yeah the weather and traffic was great! I was there in 2019 also, and then it was a whole other story with roughly 100 bicycles and cars in every other curve... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Thank you very much for your wonderful comment, it cheered me up! 👍🏻😊

      @MotorcycleCameraDrone All your videos are excellent as they're crystal clear and only the roar off that 6 cylinder 👌🏻. I'm planning my first Europe trip in 2024, hence the enquiry of your camera. I'll be riding a 2014 R1200RT.

      @@tommyburns8465 Ooooh...then you have a lot to look forward to! Have you planned your route yet or is it still in the making? That R1200RT was made for these mountains and it's going to love those roads and so will you!

      Nothing has been planned yet. Newcastle to Amsterdam ferry, then we'll decide in which direction we'll go. I was supposed to do Norway and the Arctic Circle in June, but I had to pull out as I changed jobs in February and couldn't commit. I was gutted. R1200RT is a fantastic machine, I love it. Best bike, and I've had many, that I've ever ridden, so roll on 2024

      @MotorcycleCameraDrone  10 месяцев назад +1

      @@tommyburns8465 Yeah, you can't go wrong with a machine like that. Doesn't matter where you go really, because it's going to be an amazing ride no matter what! :) Sorry you couldn't do Norway this year but there is always another time... First we have to survive this cold period ahead

    Is your speedometer MPH or KPH. ?
    I could regularly make out 100 if that's KPH, not bad.
    If Mph that's INSANE!! 😎🥴
