    Hi Lars, I've been recently using fusion 360 as a total beginner to 3d cad cam software to create wooden carvings for a cnc and absolutely love your videos. Every time i get stuck with certain tasks, i always come back to here and find the video that relates and you explain everything perfectly! Love ya work. Many thanks, all the way from New Zealand!

    I'm using Fusion for making fishing lures and the sculpting environment is very usefull for that, so seeing how the tools in that area work is very helpfull.
    Still looing for a way to adding surface structure to a sculpted body though, but I guess I will find it eventually. For my case I would like to add fishscales to my lures.
    Slowly wathcing my way through all the live sessions, and you are doing a great job teaching all of us Fusion - Thanks

    Hello Lars
    Thank you very much for this excellent tutorial. Between this and the other videos that you have, I believe I have enough info on how to proceed in creating solid bodies of original French carved designs. I am now very much convinced that Fusion 360 is the right tool for my upcoming venture into woodworking business along of course with most advanced 5 axes CNC machine.
    Thanks again and look forward to watching your future tutorials.

    Hi Lars, I really enjoy the tutorial. Normally when other tutorials "rush" I miss a lot of info. Not yours, I don't think you can even if you tried. Your videos make this beginner more confident with each lesson I follow along with. Thank you!

    Thanks again for a great video. I do Fractal wood burning and am trying to make Art for the blind. Something they can move their hands over a feel the picture, as when we go to a museum we can't touch anything. I saw a video on Art work with a CNC and thought of this right away.. Maybe someone will pick up on this idea as it will take me a while to learn all of this. We can get a lot of joy for a lot of people.

    There are bunch of common shapes that can be predefined with scultping or mesh to rejoin into new objects. well time invested good goes long way. the way you explain options is optimal and saves lot of looking around.. much appreciated your time for all good tips...

    Just a little added extra, when you said about the subdivide altering the shape, if you switch the mode from Simple, to Exact, it won't alter the shape :)

    Now that F360 has decided to take new alternative routes with their product licencing. Would you consider an introductory video of alternative software's and how they compare in pricing and or value?

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  3 года назад +3

      Thank you for commenting. I believe that the license changes for Fusion 360 will have no too very little impact on people using the software for personal projects.
      For now, this channel will stay focused on Fusion 360.

    hey thanks you made this easy for me to understand. i had been having problems figuring out how to make my sculpture into solid form to be printed. could you next show me how to convert a 3d or stl file into a file that can be used on the cnc metal carving machine? i hope so thanks so much for all your doing!

    Just started using Fusion 360. I've opened an .STL file and want to follow along with this tutorial. However, the Fusion 360 interface must have changed in the last year. Cannot even find how to switch to the "Sculpt" workspace. The only option I have is "Design". There is no "Create Face" option in the dropdown, so I cannot even get past the first step in this tutorial. The tutorials on the Fusion 360 site don't even use the current interface. How does Fusion expect new users to learn this program? Any help would be appreciated.

      Hello~ I was wondering the same thing as I am very new as well! However, with some clicking around, it looks like all you need to do is click on the down arrow for 'create' then click on 'create form'. After doing this, the desk format should change to what is shown in this video. :)

    I want to aplaude you for your patience and upbeat demeanor. I tried the sculpting tutorial and when I tried to input a T spline in the form of a rectangle my edges remained square like a box and did not assume the curvature shape that yours did upon clicking okay. I was inside the sculpt environment and I attempted to use an attached canvas (picture) and create the 3D shape of the object in the picture, but couldn't ever get the sides to assume the curve. Any ideas?

    • @cadcamstuff
      @cadcamstuff  6 лет назад

      Hi George Allen Thank you for watching!
      There is a function to turn everything square. You can turn it on by Option+1 on mac and I think Alt+1 on PC, Option+3 will turn it back to curvature. You could try that

      Hi Mike McCafferty Thank you for watching!
      If you don't have anything on the screen, you have a sculpt icon on the modeling toolbar. Then the menu will appear

    Everything was fine on mine until converting to a solid body, it was a mess in patch, would only turn the main two shapes into solids, and created all kinds of slivers and wedges that were disconnected in patch....I gave up, sculpt is very tricky and usually not confidence inspiring.
