Elsa the Snow Queen has an extraordinary gift -- the power to create ice and snow. But no matter how happy she is to be surrounded by the people of Arendelle, Elsa finds herself strangely unsettled. After hearing a mysterious voice call out to her, Elsa travels to the enchanted forests and dark seas beyond her kingdom -- an adventure that soon turns into a journey of self-discovery.

I remember seeing the documentary of Frozen 2 and learning that the “Show Yourself” sequence was the biggest challenge the creators faced in development of the film and it definitely showed how much labor of love was put into it.

One thing I love about this film is Anna’s relationship with Kristoff. It feels real. He fumbles and makes mistakes at times, and she sometimes misunderstands what he is saying. Yet their love for each other is strong enough to get past every obstacle. And when she’s in danger, he doesn’t get upset about her leaving him behind, his only response is to reassure her that he’s there and asks what she needs.

Have they though? In the first movie, she put an entire kindom into an out-of-season winter and brought multiple snowmen to life. I think her power had already fully matured, but now her control of that power is much better.

For so many years Mulan was my favorite Disney movie, then came along Frozen II and I don't think anything can top it. Everything from the story, the lore, the actual history they incorporated, the sound track. Howard Ho did a couple of great videos on the sound track that make you appreciate it even more. You should give them a watch, even if you don't react.
Also, Kristoff is the best Disney Prince of them all. You can't even try to change my mind.

That's actually how their parents got together!❤ 18:23
They were kids when they interact to each other or the dad did not see her when closing his eyes but he heard her voice which is the mom's voice!
It reminds me of how Kristoff had seen Anna for the first time when he was a child and he doesn't know that girl he had seen being frozen sick and got cured by grandpappy troll is gonna be his fiancee or even wife some day!❤
Kristoff took care of Anna just like their mom took care of their dad which makes sense!
Sounds like a family tradition to take care of someone you love!❤

I personally really think this movie stepped up from the sequel. I definitely love the music a lot more in this movie than the first. I feel they really touched upon some serious topics, and really brought out a lot more dark themes. But that's what makes it so amazing.❄️
Also fun fact, Olaf calling out for Samantha was originally a blooper. But they felt it was so funny they kept it in the movie.😂

@ItsTotally Cody! So Elsa froze in the deep waters of Ahtohallan for 2 reasons
1, she went too deep (refer to the mother's song: not too far or you'll be drowned)
    AND
    2. Remember how they say "an act of true love will thaw a frozen heart"? Well, Elsa witnessed her grandfather commiting this murder out of pure HATRED. So this is the polar opposite of that proverb: An act of pure hatred will freeze a heart.

The character arc; The songs pushing the story forward or foreshadowing, The Sami indigenous representation; They showed an emotional and venerable Christof who wasn't there to save Anna but help her; The fact they made the quality of the animation better for the sequel rather then cop out a worse one, is just a few of the things that makes this my all time favourite sequel of all movies.
They even made the songs themselves that Anna and Elsa sing have a character arc in terms in the notes they used. There are several videos about that. They thought of everything and I love it! 'Into the Unknown' and 'Show Yourself' will be forever on my playlist.

My fav songs became Show Yourself and The next right thing.. It hit my heart when Elsa and Olaf (my most fav characters) "died", I never imagined it.. I was surprised at the end that Elsa remained as protector of the enchanted forest and Anna queen of Arendelle, my favorite moments were seeing Anna getting up to do the next right thing and Elsa finally breathe freely and being happy with who is she at the end ( also I was amazed to see her use her powers to the fullest with the elements.

The waiting sucked but it was worth it. In my opinion.

After Frozen came out, its songs and merchandise were everywhere and it kinda came out of my ears. Frozen II was a boost of fresh air and I enjoyed its story more than the first one. Now, after getting some distance to the franchise, I l adore them both, but I love the songs in the sequel a bit more. Even though "Show Yourself" and "Into The Unknown" are iconic, the song that really stuck with me, was "The Next Right Thing". I was a complete teary mess when I first heard it and it has remained as such a huge inspiration over the years. It also creates a wonderful contrast to more optimistic "For The First Time In Forever" and "Some Things Never Change".
I'm a bit bitter about the Kristoff's role in the movie, because it was supposed to be a lot different: In the original plan he sang an amazing song, "Get It Right", where he tried multiple times to propose and create a romantic atmosphere, but got insecure and cold feet, but - plot twist! - Anna proposed first and they got a little nice duet-moment. Elsa actually was planning to make him a royal - can't remember the official title right now - and it made Kristoff feel very conflicted because he had gotten used to live in such a different environment and customs. When Nokk, the waterhorse - whose role was originally to make people reveal the truths about themselves or drown them -, almost drowned Kristoff, he was forced to tell how he felt, and in the heat of the moment it sounded like he didn't enjoy his life in Arendelle. And because Anna was very uncertain and lacked self-esteem because of everything that happened in the first movie and before that, she thought that it meant Kristoff didn't want to marry her. Therefore they went separate ways for a while, but eventually figured everything out and got married. I would've personally preferred that to happen in the movie.
Elsa had to tame the other spirits to get to Ahtohallan, so she had to also tame Nokk, but I think that they left a tiny piece of the original plan in the movie: when Elsa started to realize the origins of her roots and her own truth that she had partly denied earlier, Nokk became calmer as well.
Sorry, this became very long, just got excited. Thanks for the reaction, it was a joy to follow.

  • @forestcatkay14
    @forestcatkay14 6 месяцев назад +4

Lol the Geico pun! Fun fact the salamander’s name is Bruni and the horse’s name is The Nokk. As for why the horse fought Elsa, same with the other spirits, the humans had angered them and therefore the spirits fight them. Elsa was pretty much gaining their trust back.
My favorite song from this was Into the Unknown, it has a similar vibe to Moana’s How Far I’ll Go.
Kristoff’s song I keep giggling every time I hear it. It has such a Chicago vibe to it. If youve ever heard the song You’re the Inspiration you might catch the moments in the song. It supposedly was a nod to all 80s songs like the Queen moment, even influence from Bon Jovi and Bryan Adams. For me its just that cheesy romantic vibe that gets me giggling, and its in a kids movie of all things!

Frozen II did what a lot of sequels have trouble doing, and that is to be even better then the first. Along with the message of growth thread throughout, the movie did as well, deepening the lore of the series and maturing the themes that started in the first one. It also did not feel like a retread of the first, as some sequels do. (looking at you Incredibles 2) It took our well-known characters on a new adventure that also touched back on the history in the first, and it was so very well done. I really hope the third movie can do the same, and considering that they are two for two, I think it will be.

I'd say a leopard gecko which is definitely not the Geico gecko I'd say that is morning gecko maybe but I'd say that little pink and purple fire guy could very easily be a Pokemon but yeah salamanders are supposed to be amphibians like frogs and geckos are reptiles but in the Pokemon world that s*** doesn't matter. It could 100% be called a salamander and based on a lizard and if it was fire type they absolutely would do that. They recently had a gecko starter be water type which would have made more damn sense as a salamander. But no they couldn't be bothered to do that

That joke was unexpected but perfect! 👌
In all seriousness, I feel this movie is even more misunderstood than the first film already was, and like I said before, there's this book called "Dangerous Secrets" which goes even deeper into the parents' backstories.

glad you enjoyed both movies! frozen has been so hated because of its popularity, but considering how disney is making one flop after the other, we need more classic like frozen again!

I forgot to add that Elsa DIDN'T GO to her sister's corronation. It was more important to spend time with strangers than to see her sister becoming queen. That's so selfish and cruel 😠Anna don't deserve this!

That was not Anna's coronation, just the reveal of the statues. I'm sure Elsa attended Anna's coronation as she would have to abdicate at the same time

"But not too far or you'll be drowned"
Ahtohallan is a glacier, so if you dive too deep, how do you drown in a frozen river? You freeze.

I love both films equally, although I appreciate how they gave more depth to this one. The story, songs, and the character developments were phenomenal! I love how in the end their mother’s kindness was rewarded not just by love but a brighter future for her and her husband’s people. It’s amazing how Elsa and Anna were both meant to be on a different path but to also be the bridge for both of their peoples. Into the Unknown and Show Yourself are masterpieces along with Lost in the Woods and The Next Right Thing.

Personally in my opinion, if there’s a Frozen 3 movie coming out. I really hope we get to see that Anna and Elsa have a brother.
There was actually a lot of fan theories that Tarzan was their long lost brother. That Anna and Elsa’s parents washed up in a jungle and had Tarzan.
But either way, loved your reaction, Cody. You, Nick and Tim give the greatest reactions ever. I love it!

However storywise, I prefer the story of Frozen 2
