I did NOT know this video even existed! I've loved this song since I first heard it on the "What's All This John" comp! (Also on that LP: Toyah, the Flys, Gang of Four, Cockney Rejects, Wire, the Motels and the Buzzcocks! The Shirts were in GOOD company...!)
We were looking at Tros Toppop (a Dutch TV show) at that time, from Belgium, and I got the single. I didn't know they had a really big success only in the Netherlands.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THE ACTUAL VIDEO WAS FOUND....I bow down to you CHALKFARMROAD, thank you sooo sooo much, my favorite band from that time, I love Annie w/all my heart, one of the best albums, plus Inner Sleeve also my faves. I saw The Shirts at Emerald City in Cherry Hill New Jersey and they were great. I had their first 2 LPs I am partial to the first. What was great in 78 when I got into Underground Music ( label it whatever ) it was very diverse...over time it became Super Fragmented, you would see Shows that featured 3 Bands that only had one thing in common...playing out!!
Really growing in my mind.....so ... 30 years ago: Student's time then, but as ever still remaining of dancing of such a great song=== dishes no required ;-) New Wave : everything was perfect!!! Great memories!

after watching this a few times I must say this is GREAT! it has a similar feel to the song "when the world slips away and your lost and your dazed...." I'll have to dust off my Shirts Lps. Annie Golden, , I went to see the movie hair because she was in it.
WOW, never saw this. I used ta go see Da Shirts ( to look at Annie really). , CBGB's and Julio's South, Asbury park, even the Fastlane I think. I made a tape. interviewed them. the live stuff on the CBGB record was amazing and their studio lps didn't have the same excitement. Thanx for posting.
mysteries of music biz : why Blondie did it ( anything wrong with debbie's band ) and Shirts not ? They were fantastic and with a similar commercial appeal... bah...
