Is there a way to go from the airport to the bib pickup at the expo and to Kurfurstendam where I'm staying in one go, or should I just try to get from BER to the hotel and then do the expo the next day? Would be nice to be done with the expo as soon as possible, ie. Friday evening. Thanks.
@@tkoppis Yeah, definitely! I don't know where you're staying in Kurfürstendamm, but Tempelhofer Feld (where the expo is) is geographically in between Ku'Damm and the airport. Google Maps directions will get you where you need to go. Have fun!
Thanks a lot for the video! How much earlier to the start should I be in the starting area? Is an hour enough to pee and drop off my bag and just find my way around? I am so nervous, gonna run on Sunday as well 😍
Glad it was helpful AND that you got in! Besides near the start, you could look to see if you can find something cheaper that’s a few stops away from the start via the S-Bahn.
Looking for more bathroom tips during the race!? Are there Porta potty’s at the water stations as well? The course map doesn’t say! Also are there maps for spectators with U-Bahn stops to follow our runner?
Yeah, you’ll find options through the race. No maps that I’m aware of telling you where spectators should take the U-Bahn to watch. But it’s pretty easy to figure out using Google maps. Have a great race!
Yep! It’s not a bad walk at all and you can use it as a warmup, hitting up some of the toilets on the way out to get out those nervous pees (or otherwise 💩🤓)
Yes, I think an adress in Berlin helps. I’ve got in three out of three times via the lottery with a local adress (and I’ve heard similar stories from my neighbours)
I got in using the lottery. I did not expect to get in, but here we are, a month away. I do have a question though , how is the elevation increase between 25-30 km? Im aiming for a sub 4:30 time, still struggled a bit with my marathon training here in Portland, OR, as it’s not entirely flat and elevation going a few bridges is a leg killer here after mile 19-20
Congrats! It's a fantastic race. You'll love it. Hmmm... I don't remember at any point experiencing a perceptible increase in elevation. Berlin is a world-record favorite of marathoners because it's so flat. I wouldn't worry too much about it!
@@finkledo My pleasure! In case you haven't seen it, I've got another video on the Berlin, more from the actual running experience: ruclips.net/video/tJTy_fo07BM/видео.htmlsi=G2D4O1kOL3MKJz0V Come back and let us know how you did afterwards :)
According to the official website of the Berlin marathon, headphones are not allowed. I’ve run it twice with just one earbud in and have not had any problems though. Couldn’t imagine running without my playlist.
@@solefreak2 September *can* be a bit of a gamble. We've had hot (for marathon running) days and freezing, rainy days. Hope you get a good day and a PB! See ya out there :)
There is a lot of people who think that it’s just their 10K time times 4, which make them end up in the wrong coral sadly 🙈 but I don’t think that Berlin is to bad again in that regards, compared with the ones I have done in the states where “marathon walkers” enter a time at registration to put in carol B and insist to walk on the middle of the road 🙈😂 But I acknowledge the problem and I do think it’s bigger at the majors, but I have seen at all the marathons I have been a part of 👌
Thanks for watching! Fortunately, I haven’t been in a race where walkers started side-by-side with runners. That’d be infuriating, for everyone involved, I imagine!
Have a question about the Berlin Marathon? Let me know in the comments and I'll answer!
We are staying at the Marriot...what subway line should we take?
@gailstewart612 None! Just walk. You’re really close to the start.

Running the Berlin Marathon next weekend and I am nervous as f**k.
It’ll be a blast! It’s a party the whole time. You’ll love it!
You got this. You’ll do amazing and you’ll have so much fun
@@haleytherunner Agreed!
Thanks a lot, very interesting.
I've been picked up in the lottery. I'm so happy
Glad to hear it! See ya at the starting line 😎

Good luck!

I thinking going marathon tours in two years would I get a place or with my friend
This was helpful. I got in through the lottery, very excited! Any tips on location to stay, aside from near the start line?

@@BaurJoeI’m just holding my sisters purse while she runs. I didn’t get in (whew!)
@fireboltames ah, bummer! If you want to try again next year, I think using a locks address helps, in case you know anyone who lives here.
I’m staying at premier inn Wilmersdorf. You think I’d also be better just heading towards hauptbanhopf and walking from there much like yourself?

May I know can listen music during the race?

@kahlofrida86 had no idea! Good to know. I’ve always run with them on.
Recall any hills on the course worth noting?
Absolutely not. It’s a wildly 2D course. Think NES video games 😆
