Yep, you can definitely get those easily. The only exception is if you have a good looking hand initially, then don't go for tanyao or pinfu. Also, don't be afraid to fold if someone else has riichi. They're one tile away from winning, so you need to discard "safe tiles", which will be tiles that player discarded after calling riichi. There are many rounds in a match, so if you win then fold you can still come out on top. If you end up giving another player the winning tile, you have to pay a higher penalty, whereas if someone else wins normally then the payment is split more evenly except for dealer bonus.
