  • I'll dig into the problems with the Roman Catholic Church (not attacking individual Catholics) from the Bible. Especially prophecy.

I'm curious, when in the history of Christianity did the Catholic Church become the beast or harlot you claim it is? What time period?

From its beginning. The church IN ROME fell away quite early on, before the organization of the Roman Catholic Church as we know it today. Much of the western church had already apostatized by the 4th century, and this accelerated when Christianity became en vogue, and then became the de facto religion of the state. This new church power led to the organization of RCC as we know it by the early 6th century, and their reign of power began in 538 AD.

@@joshfontanillaso if it officially apostatized in the fourth century, then we should find true orthodox proto-Protestants in the latter half of the first, second, and third centuries. Yet when you read all of the available church writings show none of these early Christian groups held to Protestant teaching.
Yes, I know that the term Protestant wouldn't exist yet. I'm talking about the TEACHINGS. If Protestant teaching is true, then we should find explicitly Protestant beliefs taught in the 1-3rd centuries. Likewise, when these novel Catholic teachings were being invented or spread in the fourth century, we should see these early proto -Protestants revolting against these new Catholic teachings.
Yet we find no such people teaching these things. It simply doesn't exist in history.

@@KEP1983 first of all it’s a strawman argument. I couldn’t care less about a popularity contest in church history, or needing to show certain groups existed, etc. I just gave an hour long talk showing from the Bible that the Vatican fits the prophecies in Rev 17. Deal with that. Stop trying to change the subject.
Furthermore, the very idea that it’s required to show groups of people in the written history protesting apostasy is a false premise. In Elijah’s day, Israel had fallen so completely he thought he was the only faithful Israelite left. God corrected him, there were hundreds, but surely they were in hiding as Elijah hadn’t heard of them. So it’s a false premise.
But there were groups in history, like the Waldensians, long before the Protestant reformation became famous, hiding from and protesting Rome. Ultimately that doesn’t matter though, what matters is the Word, the prophecies given here, and how Rome perverts and leads away from the Bible.
