currently at 21:16 and vg (the new paper those girls work for) published a huge article a few weeks after the final about the contries threathening to withdraw. the negotioations lasted for many hours and the first negotioations started righ after the semi 2 press conferance
Israel would draw a lot of sympathy, at least in Eurovision, if they withdrew with a statement "We know that current situation could cause security risk for other contestants and fans, so we will sit this one out. See you some other time". The fact that they were forcing themselves on everyone, just turned a lot of people against them. As for other contestants that were pro-palestine, following their social media, one of the rare that continued to use his voice to talk about this issue is Olly Alexander and Bambie Thug. Most of the others that were every vocal ( Nemo, Joost and others) quickly forgot about it and it does look that they were using this just to get some self promotion.... One thing that caught my attention in this documentary, reaction of HOD of Israel to commentators of KAN statements "They were joking" is so... I do not even know how to call it. Sometimes in life it is right to say that something was wrong.
Honour would have been satisfied had Israel tried to send October Rain, the EBU said no and they used that as an excuse to sit it out but Netinyahoo wanted to do a propanganda exercise so you got the changed lyrics that sort of were just about non political enough, the badmouthing and bullying of other contestants who understandably wanted to say something about a freaking genocide or show support for the place and people that was happening to (including a former Swedish contestant Eric Saade appearing as a opening act who was abandoned from wearing an article of clothing that represented his own cultural heritage and was actually a gift from a family member). Then there was the televote inflation. I think Israel were pushed by their country's leader into using the competition as a political football and the fact that the main sponsor is Israeli meant they got away with it. I hope the EBU can grow a pair and stop this but I'm worried all the signs point to Switzerland's first hosting stint this century will be just as much of a shit show as Malmö was last year. The definition of a madmen is someone who changes nothing in their behaviour and expects a different result.
I don't get most of your arguments. They're pretty bland and you talking with double standards. It seems like you denying everything that says Israel's getting treated bad but acting on the other side that it is fine to tread Eden bad. Let me give you one example: You said you weren't surprised that Eden got booed at the Contest but then saying later "We were there for the music and not for questions about Israel". Double standards at its best, if people were there for the music people wouldn't boo, other participants wouldn't leave the backstage area when Eden performes who those 2 girls called rightly unprofessional and immature. If I'm there for music and leaving while an other artists performes just because I can't stand the country this artist represents that's childish and unprofessional
The difference was that Eden and her delegation weren’t there for the music, they were there with a clear propaganda. That’s why I said we should focus on the music and why people have had a worse opinion about their participation after they forcefully tried (and managed) to send a political entry
@@EurovisionCrave If you think like that that's fine but then don't act like "That's the truth because I was there" and also this shows me that you are going into the Contest with political prejudices even if it was like that how you said it was. I thought you were there for the music but why are now talking about this topic months after it happened and then talking about it only from one side while you wished that people from both sides got interviewed, again double standards. People love to bring in politics into Eurovision and you aren't an exception otherwise no one would boo. People who booed on those 2 nights haven't understood the sense of this Contest, that's the same for artists like Marina Satti, Joost and Bambie Thug. All that I heared from you in those 30 minutes was "I can't believed that he said that", "That isn't true what they tell", "I'm shocked" what's that?... just one side. I haven't heard a word about that protests don't belong to this Contest, I haven't heard a word about that booing an artist isn't okay" nothing like that... all what Israel is doing is bad and everything that's against Israel is good, come on - grow up please!. I'm not for Israel and I'm not for Palestine, I don't choose a side and I have no roots or connections to any of those 2 states but I can't stand injustice
well it's hard to be there for "the music" when the music represents an oppressive, colonising apartheid force that is actively committing a genocide and ethnic cleansing, and before you say no that's not the music part well NEWS FLASH the music there represents the countries / the cultures, so yeah even if you're there for the music, it is still the right thing not to want a genocidal force to participate and spread propaganda ..... Also just one last thing, the artist herself was making fun of innocent palestinian civilians that were murdered and considered to be *casualties* , and was promising to go join the IDF and un-alive more palestinians once eurovision was over ...... so yeah as a human you can't feel nothing but disgust and shame towards that artist / that apartheid regime ( not even a real country )
@@almosthuman863 Genocidal force... okay. Let me ask you who started this whole mess?, who did the first step on 7th October?. Which countries making it difficult since nearly 80 years to live in this region? - not Israel and don't come up with this "Oh they stoled land" thing. Learn the history and really think about it. Do you have any sources of that?
Yet Ukraine has been overtly political in song content on a few occasions … . LGBT inclusion for many is a political rather than a human rights issue. Pop culture can include politics. It’s just that the playing fields needs to be level.
There were massive pro Hamas demonstrations with people screaming Death To Israel in the center of Malmo , maybe you were one of them, that made it political. If you think that you are going to get more likes by Israel- bashing in your first video of your Eurovision season then, yes , you can very probably expect a lot of criticism.
If Israel needs to quit Eurovision because of security risks for OTHERS it just shows how aggressive and dangerous pro Palestine people are tbh. Eden did everything amazingly, like a grown, smart woman!!! Everyone else payed so much attention to Eden and Israel and acted like children who has tantrums, they forgot to enjoy the show 😂 am yisrael chai
