I bought this as my first propane grill. It's been a fun, learning experience ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCx5fHawkK9OoV-ojFrY8JLnZrFwAmvUt . I think it's a bit too pricey after looking at other grills, but it wasn't hard to put together and it works really well. I love the side burner option for heating food during a power outage. I have an electric stove and live in the South (Hurricane season), so this was a bonus. I also bought a cover for it and it has protected it nicely (the Char Broil All-Season Grill Cover 3-4 Burner: Large). Every few grill sessions, I take the rack (or grate) and burner covers off and clean them with a non-abrasive scrubby and mild soap. I wipe the excess off of the bottom as well, taking care to avoid the gas and pilot lines.
great job guys fyi for later reference to change propane to gas all you need to do is drill out existing brass nuts in grill to 1/16 in. hole need larger hole for more airflow happy cooking
Built in bbq’s look great but in reality they are a pain to clean properly. I have a Weber genesis E435 and when I want to clean it I just wheel it to the cleaning area and dismantle the burners and out comes the jet wash. Looks brand new when it’s done. That said you have done a nice job although I would worry about a hot bbq next to a wooden structure.
Great video the outdoor kitchen looks great from a relatively simple plan. What puts me off is all the tools needed to complete this, not every average DIY guy/girl has all the different various tools in their garage just waiting to be used. Unless a skilled craftsman which i see you are, people don't want to spend so much on those tools to use once.
I would have made the opening for the grill wider to accommodate cement board on the inside. That would have provided a little heat insulation to the wood as that grill was never intended to be completely enclosed, especially with bare wood.
@@otallono so then how do you know NOT TO DO SOMETHING? Because someone made a mistake and learned.... Ya know the almighty phrase "well I won't do that again" or "back to the old drawing board".....

I just demolished my outdoor kitchen island (previous homeowner built) because it caught fire. This looks like the same problem, wood next to the grill.
Yes.. We are in the process of buying a house with a brick exterior that has an outdoor grill built on the outside right up against the wall. We just had the home inspected and the home inspector said that is a huge fire hazard. First off there is a huge blackened grease area on the wall from the grill being used.. and a wood pool cabana right above it. Our inspector said its a huge FIRE Hazard🔥🔥. They recommended the grill be at least 3 feet away from the house. Brick or not its not safe at all to have a grill sitting up against the house.
so here is my thing... did yall think about later down road upgrades.. like maybe.. oo idk like a new grill maybe... ?? id put a baddd ass grill in that setup.. if it were me doing it... you guys narrowed yourself into getting specific grill to fit that slot only.....
Oh yeah, that garbage can is toast and hopefully the bag isn't full of paper towels and paper plates when the grease that builds up on the sides/wood frame eventually catch fire. Oh well, hope they have good home owners insurance.
Great job Dudes and Dudettes. Norm Abramson would say: 'there is nothing more important than to wear these, safety glasses' When I built my outdoor kitchen, I used steel framing material, covered with concrete backer board and then tiled the top and used stucco on the sides. Nothing will melt or burn.
I also went to A&M. Do you live in North Texas. I live up in Dallas and it looks exactly where I live and I am trying to do the exact same thing. Literally, with a black weber grill from propane to natural gas and a fridge. I already have the TV and sound bar, just like you and some wiring for the fridge done. Crazy!! Looks great.
@@ZeroToAwesome I'm exactly the same but with Makita, saves a load of money of batteries, and chargers if all tools are from the same brand. Can I also ask if you had any trouble with heat transfer into the timber? I'm not criticising, just interested as I've thought about doing something similar. I'm pretty handy with timber, but useless with brick and mortar, so it would be the way to go for me too. Stay safe People!
What people don’t seem to get is the grill only touches its steel frame at four small points that dissipate heat. The frame is designed to be cool to the touch and if you can touch it with your hand wood shouldn’t have a problem. So far everything is just fine
I actually repainted it and cleared it as I was finishing the kitchen. Just didn’t film that part. The box is aluminum so it weathers pretty well. And I like that the Iceman likes the ice chest!
10:40 min mark, when tiling, if u have a small cut put it toward the wall and not in the corner. Whole piece of tile should always be front and center.

I'm curious about the sealer users are the wood that is directly next to the grill. How are you dealing with the expanding wood and the heat near the grill? Any follow up on this possible?

We’ve got another one coming so stay tuned. It’ll be on wheels!
They did a really good job of using and / or placing just about every combustible material next to the 🔥 grill 🤷♂️

Place A heat shield behing the grill to protect the bricks from becoming brittle.
