    My preferred cat litter is Arm and Hammer Double Scoop. I've done a couple of different litter products until the A&H. It has been a big help. The other litter was Pretty litter. I used it for my one cat who was a diabetic for the last 2 years of his life. It really kept me noticed about his health until his passing.

      My friend's gang is quite happy with A&H Double Duty clumping litter...and having no experience with kitties before I started cat sitting for her two years ago, I don't mind it either...use it at my place, with the same style litter box, so the gang doesn't have to adjust to something different...trying to make the cat carrier, drive to my place, different apartment, as easy as possible for them...😁🐈🐈🐈

    We use corn cob litter - much lighter than clay (easier to lift trays) and controls smell quite well. Naturally clumps, flushable too. It does track a bit, but no more than the fine clay litters, and it's so much lighter!

    I have yet to find the best cat litter! Each one seems to have it's own issue. The one I usually use and kind of like is Tidy Cat lightweight 24/7. It clumps well, isn't too dusty, and takes care of odor pretty well. What I do not like about it is that it does track, and it's way too expensive! I always have to watch for the BOGO sales and stock up.

    • @ThePurringJournal
      @ThePurringJournal  11 месяцев назад +1

      I have heard of that one but haven't tried it! You might consider Tidy Cats Free & Clean Unscented Clumping Clay Cat Litter if you want something a little cheaper by the same company that's still high-quality. It's not "light weight," but from personal experience, I think it clumps well, has little dust, and good odor control.

    I have been using pretty litter since the spring. I love it as there is no dust and no smell. A bag last about Two months. Until this past week the color was a yellow but today as I was cleaning it I noticed that there was a blue color. I attribute this to the fact that I had to change his food. I get Imas delivered to the house and because my daughters little dog has been eating it when she comes to visit we have run short and I have been giving him the outside cats food Meow Mix. His order is due the 8th but I plan to run out tomorrow and pick up a small bag to hold him over.

    My mom has managed litter boxes for multiple cats for 25 years with few issues. All of the sudden in the last six months with one cat left, no litter we try works for her. I’ve gotten her many of the kinds recommended in these videos and there is always a huge mess involved at some point. I don’t know if something has changed with the cat or my mom but I am at my wit’s end trying to figure out how to fix this. I’m very close to buying an automatic system but afraid that would be a waste of money.

    I love my Pretty Litter, but I've had issues with it being accurate in the color change dept. It's *supposed* to be good for 4 weeks, but around week 3, we've noticed my cat's litter turning blue/green consistently. I've had her urine tested 2-3 times but besides it being super concentrated (even for a cat) there is nothing wrong with her urine. Now I think I'll only trust it if it changes a different color other than blue. Which is unfortunate.

    • @arianab.3629
      @arianab.3629 10 месяцев назад

      i had the same issue. i took him to the vet and did a whole ph test on my tap to see if his water was too alkaline but i guess the ammonia from the pee sitting in the box for too long causes the litter to inevitably become alkaline. wish pretty litter would find a solution or alert their customers about it more.

    • @arianab.3629
      @arianab.3629 10 месяцев назад

      try deep cleaning it weekly or at least every 2 weeks with dawn soap and rinse really well. i also found that using a bigger box and stirring the litter with scooping daily helped too so that the pee doesn’t sit in one area too long.

  • @TheBestTamara
    @TheBestTamara 11 месяцев назад

    When you were showing "World's Best" that was actually "Sustainably Yours." I recognize the bag (we saw one bottom corner) and the litter itself. It is lighter than World's Best, tho both are GREAT. Sustainably Yours clumps as hard as cement. I like the lighter litter color because my male kitten ended up getting blood in his urine and I do not know if I would have seen it as well in a darker (World's Best) colored litter. I really liked Pretty Litter but I was a nervous wreck always thinking there was something wrong and mis-identifying the colors (I thought orange was "normal"), however, now seeing it again and having a very young male cat with a history of crystals I'm thinking of doing pretty litter again. And trying not to freak out! (PS "Clay litter absorbs odor better" Never knew that. I hate the smell of clay -- just sitting there. Before any waste has been added. You do have me rethinking because none of my litters are perfect. Sustainably Yours is great when waste is in the box but when you scoop it out it immediately hits you with disgusting!! But, that's really not bad if it only smells when I am emptying the box and throwing the poop and urine clumps away)

  • @ratiuvictor9533
    @ratiuvictor9533 10 месяцев назад +1

    The litter doesn't mater. If you love your cat you better spend your money on better food or vet checks then a expensive litter. I buy for my Cleo the chipest clay litter in the supermarket around 2 $/5 kg but she eats only high quality wet food. Don't be that kind of cat owner who spends 20 $ for scented expensive litter becouse you don't like the smell but you give your cat cheat dried kibble.

    • @pennyduncan6861
      @pennyduncan6861 8 месяцев назад

      I disagree. The dust inhalation from some litters is dangerous for you and your cat. The odor killing properties can also be vastly different. I'd rather my house not smell like cat urine and feces. The clumping ability of the product determines how much gets wasted as well. I seldom waste any product because it clumps tightly.

    • @ratiuvictor9533
      @ratiuvictor9533 8 месяцев назад

      @@pennyduncan6861 If you clean the box every day it doesn't smell at all. And if you have a bigger box the grains and dust remein in the litter. I also keep it half covered with the back cover so even when is more litter in the box it always stays in the box.I also bought a litter mat with holes to gather any grains that may be on her paws. I'm not saying if you have the budget you shouldn't get the best of everything for your cat but just keep the priorities on what's more important. First the food and second regular vet checks. For my Cleo works perfectly. I buy her food of 200$/every month and I spend 30$ on Vet check once every 3 months And after that I spend the rest of my budget on the cheapest disposable litter I could find.
