Tropical Storm Irene Hits Vermont [SIV237]

8/29/11: One day after Tropical Storm Irene left flooding and devastation in many Southern Vermont towns, Burlington and Winooski residents flocked to the Winooski Falls to see the raging river for themselves. Eva was one of them.

I live in Vermont! I was to young to understand what was going on when the flood happened I was only 6 years old! All i really remember was we couldn't get home so my dad got his Hummer and we drove through the river! Lucky this was after the flood! When the flood happened we had a grandpa and he let us stay at his house. We Are so thankful for that! When the flood was over we went back to my house and thankfully nothing had happened! Oh yes I remember my other grandma was cutting my grandfathers hair at their house and my mom drove to their house and told them that there is 3 feet of water outside! She was shocked when we got back to my grandmas house it was completely destroyed! We redid it throughout the years and how it looks great! Now Looking back I Relize how Devistating the hurricane was! I am so happy that Vermonters are so strong! BTW I love this video!💞😫

I was living in Vergennes during Irene. It was pretty crazy to go through. Luckily, Vergennes faired pretty well in the end. A few power outages, some damage, and the Otter Creek was flooded for a few days.
