I really should have explained that. Yes, It is south facing. And receives a full day of sun. And I just mulched in with cardboard and about 12" of MULCH just the other day
You are going to have a lot of success!!!!! Years of enjoyment and entertainment!. While you were explaining it my wife says.... We understand, we understand!!!
Fig roots will go out about 40 feet from the tree, putting all the goods in the hole will definitely keep the roots from leaving home for sure. it's better to just top dress the land around your trees, 5-10 feet away from the hole.
Which I will do. But I HAVE to work the soil heavily. It isn't soil. It was all removed years ago when the plot was leveled there used to be a mobile home park here and had several inches of rock covering the entire park. . So, I work it and amend it. Then also top dress. Then cover 12" deep with leaves. and finally a heavy layer of mulch.
Looks like a great microclimate. I hope that is the south side of the wall. Good planting. Now, mulch!

Do mice like the root
I think they are realy close. I would plant them in minimum 2 meters apart.
You planted these from cuttings? Where did you get the cuttings?
We buy from alot of sources.
But www.offthebeatenpathnursery.com carries alot of cold hardy varieties since they are also growing in zone 6B.
