Rutam Mokashi that's just how flex is...and yes, this is what is required to break the egos of younger athletes who are used to this new age of volume progressive overload principles. He is young and just needs time, but he got the jist and is currently looking better than ever. Gotta be patient with the youth.
Flex doesn't know what he's doing. And that sounds crazy because he is one of the best bodybuilders ever.... 20 rep sets doesnt do shit buy get blood into the muscle
I noticed when Flex corrected his form, he started struggling on light weight. Goes to show people arent as strong as they think they are when they actually start lifting weights the right way.
Flaring the elbows on the bench press or incline is not the right way. And its why he cant use a full range of motion on the incline (where the bar touches your chest) because he is putting his pecs and shoulders in a compromising position that goes against how the shoulders move biomechanically. When you bench..in the bottom position your elbows should be tucked..forming a V..not a T. benching with your elbows forming a T aka flaring them..causes shoulder impingement, and can lead to pec tears. And going real wide on the bench in terms of grip width also puts the shoulders in a compromising position.
Keep doing your thing Keone! Been keeping up with your progress since the day we met. So glad to see you learning from a veteran, a legend! Stay humble brother! #tothestars
Excellent!! The part that's crazy is flex had to retire in order to get this point across! REPS!!!!! Volume!!! Sheesh. I learned this back In 93! History repeats itself!! AWESOME!!!
Most people talking about him not listening and not caring what flexes says. Just know this is how exactly flex was when he was training in his prime. That is why flex has taken him under his wing, he sees a lot of potential and himself in this kid, similar structure and overall beautiful physique
Flex was a different person back then, and did admit vaguely he wish he hadn't been such a prude back then - its not the arrogance that bothers people, it's Keone's lack of humility / personality.
@@FauxHawkDre I agree Sir...I think it's the camera. This man has the genes and the work ethic, he just needs to shut up and show us what he's thinking instead of talking about it.

Exactly..you never are suppose to flair elbows benching...it puts your shoulders and pecs in a compromising position and it goes against how the shoulder joint move from a biomechanical standpoint. Plus he is not even able to use a full range of motion on the incline due to flaring the elbows. Most of those bodybuilders have horrible form and most go by bro science nonsense. As well as doing excessive isolation movements with high volume which puts so much stress on that one joint compared to a compound movement which places the stress over multiple joints. Its why a lot of those bodybuilders have so much problems with joint pain.
He wasnt saying bring the elbows back (he brought the kid back to parallel) his arms were v'ing down, just look at the positioning after he corrected it

Hypertrophy comes by two ways: pumping the muscle with a lot of blood using high reps and breaking down the muscle tissue with heavy weights. What annoys me about flex is he’s extremely egotistical. Back then he was doing heavy weight and low reps. Always doing 7 reps. Now as a trainer Flex is STILL making it about himself by making them do high reps and low weight. So he can talk about how it’s not about ego lifting blah blah blah.
