My Japanese Sony NW A306 arrived about a week ago and I gotta admit, the uncapped volume is a HUGE difference! Now I’m not exceeding more than level 90 volume at the loudest and that’s for my more compressed lower quality mp3s, everything else is a cool 65-75 range. Got a 1tb as card and now officially in love with this this player. Highly recommend an Asian uncapped model of the NW A306! Would be a great comparison video.

@@johnnysilverhand1733 Theres allot to that. Is your budget $350 or $3500. Theres allot more to it than "faithfully reproduced" You can get that with a $10 tape and an offbrand walkman at walmart... I want MORE than that! I want to hear things I never heard before, I want seperation, I want to hear little mistakes. When recorded in the studio there very often is allot more there than what you can hear on a "faithfully reproduced" C grade player a 13 year old listens to walking home from school.
Thats possible but when driving being able to see the buttons is good. I will add the sony buttons are alittle harder to see when driving fast as there smaller.
you shouldn't be looking at any buttons while driving anyway lol. muscle memory or feeling of the buttons is enough, stay safe while driving@@TUXXREVIEWS

Have you had the chance to check out the ActivoC10? Really cool DAP but I like the NwA 306 better except the activo has better audio output I think. Would be a cool comparison video. I also heard the Japanese NW A306 have uncapped audio unlike the American ones, so I hit the bullet and ordered a Japanese model cuz I want to see the audio difference.
I believe Astell&Kern have discontinued the ActivoC10 but I may still check it out / compare. I do have a AK70 I use in my videos. Astell&Kern do sound great and perhaps a little loulder than the Sony NW-A306 but not the newer features of the Sony. If buying one - Heres the video ruclips.net/video/rP-9cGgx1Aw/видео.html
You should not be using any handheld when you are driving. Plus if it is your right hand, you can wrap your fingers and reach around to the controls while holding it. But nice review on the F28, thinking of grabbing one.
I will - Later this week I show the process on a M7 DAP (the process is the same). One tip for the Sony NW-A306 is be sure to format the SD card in the Sony player. Sony requires file folders in a cretain other. I have a older video about tagging music files and I believe I talk about transfering music too ruclips.net/video/10D9aCOTc54/видео.html Another method is to get an adaptor like this ruclips.net/video/GyRX6hQP2X4/видео.html - Anyway more soon on this.
I have a sony nw35, kinda have had enough of waiting for it to boot up and read the sd card. It takes 10minute to read my sd card every time i want to use it
10 min??? Sounds like something is wrong. How long does it take to boot without SD card? Also did you add additional aps on it? While you can I dont suggest it as it slows thew boot.
@@TUXXREVIEWS it takes about a minute without the sd card. The sd card is a sandisk class 10 128gb memory card. So yeah im kinda had enough. I have an ipod classic on its last life and i have a mechen coming in the mail but thinking of gettinf the surfans f28 due to the fact it can run 512gb sd cards. My current one has 4gb left and that might be the reason cause its almost full i dunno but im over the sony constantly taking to long to boot up

Thanks for the review, in summary witch one have best sound quality?
Sony
Superb review as always, which one goes louder at max volume? Sony or Surfans?
Answer: Surfans! But I think the quality goes down a little at Surfans Max volume.

When in sleep mode can you still adjust the volume without waking the device up on the surfans? This is important for me.
press the buttons with your index finder underneath while the screen is facing you. easy lol

Which one of them have bright sound signature?
I love the sound of the Sony and it has so many audio sound features / tweaks you can do but that volume limiter is a consideration to "bright".
Bro make a vid on how to play all music on the SD for the 306
