I'm in my sixties. The rockets swinging out to the side were popular in the 70's same with the motorcycle speedway Ark.The art work was always great on the fair rides .The Codona family ran a lot of them here in Scotland.
Oh cool. I never knew Codonas had history going back to the steam fair days. I remember going to Dorset steam fair as a kid and seeing all the different rides painted up (by hand) and the organ playing the classic tunes, such a great atmosphere compared to modern day fairs. I actually have a video coming up soon of scotland largest steam show. I had a great day out, definitely worth a watch if you like steam engines👍
Tried my best to capture the elegance and all the little details of it all while having some fun. Thanks for watching as always. Hope you have a lovely Christmas Ervin. ATB for 2023
Yep, as a young boy growing up in London, my mum and dad would take us to Wormwood scrubs fair. ground in the early 1960's. Remember the gold fish in the plastic bag, sadly it would die in a few days. I still remember the steam traction engines, fairy floss and all the rides. Memories. Thanks for the video.
Total nostalgia fest this place is. It's lovely to hear what community of memories the heritage fairs can stir up in people. The fairs back then had heart and charm (except the goldfish in a bag thing) compared to the modern era. Thanks for watching and sharing your memories.
Dingles should build another shed to house the Carters fun fair collection before it all gets lost after all the hard work put in by the Carter family.
I unfortunately don't know what the brand is of the skooter cars. Reverchon might be right though. I would love to visit Musée des Arts Forains one day. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you have a great day
Unfortunately the "Moon Rockets" weren't assembled at my time of visiting. Hadn't been on "Noah's Ark" since standing at the bars facing inwards wasn't allowed. Great Dodgems and fantastic Skid that went so fast the brake was pretty useless (in a good way), obviously pre health and safety got in the way of enjoyment and common sense!! There is also another between Filey and Scarborough. As these are charity run, please don't expect too much but let's hope it will be the beginning of Retro Rides. I've seen the old Ski Jump, Tri-Star and Paratrooper are making the circuits again💖!!
I saw the skid half assembled when I was there, it sure would of been good to get back on one after all these years. I will have to look up the other place you mentioned. Let hope the heritage of the fairs live on and on
@@StoneAgeProductionsAdventure Apologies, these are mainly volunteer run and rely on donations whilst there. They are certainly lack-lustre compared with today's theme parks but a damn deal cheaper! There is a vintage fair doing the circuit with the wonderful Octopus and there are a few retro ride that have been stepped up for a bigger thrill. Try searching the Scarborough Fair Collection!
@@clivegchesterman Shame though that british hertitage like this has to now rely on donations, volunteers & charities to keep the history alive. I will do, thank you very much.

It's like stepping back in time! Thanks Muskoman
That looked like amazing old timey fun!
It was great, and even though it wasn't that busy it still had that old-timey atmosphere. Well worth a visit.

It would be amazing if they did that.
