Welcome to the 3rd video in a series of 5 different vlogs from various theme parks and attractions throughout Devon! As I was waiting for my new camera these vlogs were filmed on a GoPro hence the different look and sound to them (mainly audio). The vlogs following these will then be on my new camera! Thanks for watching this vlog as I look forward to sharing much more exciting content in the future!
I used to work there 3 years ago I was mainly the slot machine mechanic sad to see loads out of action, but the rides where equally as good to operate too the skid was my best to operate there. Also the little red fire engine I totally restored that and helped put up the top rounding boards up geez they where blooming heavy great video
Another hidden gem. Thank you for sharing this attraction, I will definitely pay a visit. That ghost train gave us all a fright 😲 and the other rides wouldn't look out of place in modern times. I wonder how many of today's ride's will stand the test of time. Well done your vlogs just keep giving👍
Thank you Shaun for tihis amazing vlog..this is the sort of thing that got me into fairgrounds and amusement parks and theme parks...right up my boulevard!!! Please dont stop doing these sort of vlogs...I love all the old fairground attractions...especially the ghost train! Ive watched other vlogs you have done on smaller amusement parks and I think they are fantastic....Please keep doing these older park vlogs as well as the theme parks because they are just so charming and magical...Especially the ghost trains lol...Thankyou so much for doing this vlog...what a wonderful little treasure of a place...Keep up the fantastic work...Lovin it! :-)
What a hidden gem! Haven't been to the UK for a couple of years, but this one instantly made it to my UK bucketlist! Thanks so much for showing us around! :)
Hopefully with this blog they get more visitors and get more funding to set up another hall with more classic rides.U realy need to come back with Charlotte,Harry,Alex and others.Been loving these small park vlogs.Very interesting new places.keep them coming
At 1:55 - Pat Collins, my local showman! Obv he's not alive any more but the family have kept the name going. I noticed on the Hellraiser text that the R was missing. If you rewind your video back by about a minute, you'll see the R by itself in another spot :-) About the Ark, I think some of them were retrofitted with spinning cars that made them into Waltzers as we know them nowadays. So some stayed as Arks, others became Waltzers. Superb tour all in all and easily one of the best fairground videos I've seen.
I was talking to my mum earlier after watching your milky way vlog because it felt so familiar. Turns out I visited it when I was about 12 so 15 years ago on a family holiday to Devon and it hasn't really changed since. I remember going on that dark ride quite clearly, my mum screams even on kiddie coasters so I remember her making a right racket on that ride which was very funny to me. It was a very smooth ride back then, probably not so much now! Thank you for the vlog, it was unexpectedly nostalgic :)
We will definitely visit this museum in the future. I was really impressed with the motorcycle speedway and moon rocket as they looked very fast and were reasonable in price. It looks like there is so much to see and do. Really enjoyed this vlog. Thanks and well done Shawn.
Fantastic Vlog, we love this place, always taking family here when they come to visit us. My wife was very pleased to see the inside of the ghost train for the first time, she has been on it at least three times but has never opened her eyes to see! Its so great that you have taken the time to visit this place a real treasure with so much more to show, and who knows, space in the future for the Theme park worldwide merch collection!!
@@pastypiratepaul what do you mean by Music centre, have you attached a radio and CD Player to it. Paul Can you please show me a photograph of how the Darlek now looks. When Dingles reopens following its refurbishment I’ll miss seeing the Darlek. I guess Dingles Exterminated it LOL. My Cousin Richard loves Dr Who he has all of the memorabilia including a shed in his garden that looks like the Tardis.
I volunteered here a few years ago. Loved running the Skid (currently in storage) and the Ghost Train. Looking forward to the extension being completed.
I really wish they could work together with Margate and have mecca for classic rides at one location with all the history and artifacts. I know one is a themepark and one is showmen but it could be world class.
Great to see some old rides i recognised from when i was a youngster. i just kept going "omg they have a ..." whilst watching. Looks like i will have to go for a visit at some point and see this for myself.
I use to go to dingles a lot they use to have a couple of working steam engines on display where the arcade is now. At time 6:29 look at the back in the corner of the room which use to house a compton cinema organ until it got removed & sold in 2015 and I helped out to restore the instrument. The 65 key gavioli does play but the verbeeck (the organ at 25:40) does not play it needs restoring.
I visited the place when it was Dingles Steam Village .About 17 years ago. Shame the steam engines have been sold off. The Dingle family were rolling contractors who operated a huge fleet of steam rollers all over Devon and Cornwall. Quite a few of their engines are preserved.
I went there in 2012 when the UK's only travelling Wall of Death was there for a classic motorbike rally. Though I don't remember them having anywhere near as much to see as they seem to now, it's great to see that they've expanded so much and I'm glad you enjoyed the visit.
So excited for the model village vid. Went to Torquay a few times on Holiday when I was younger and loved that Model village. It’ll be exciting to see how it’s changed since I went a few years ago.
Hi Sean, Thank you for sharing your experience at the Dingles attraction but like your self I'm located a bit to far away from Dingles. Steve from Manchester 🇬🇧
What a fantastic Vlog loved it great place Dingles i just love the old stuff . Spending this weekend at Carters Lichfield 10 big rides and much more can't wait road run 10am Saturday will look out for u be nice to say hello. Oh by the way a tip when you do a Carters Vlog they will love it i have known the family for years but when u see the Galloping Horses the Gallopers don't call em a Carousel lol Joby won't be happy Carousel is american as u know lol but again thank u mate love the Vlogs - Andrew McK
Ohhhh not long got home from work... theme park worldwide notification for a new video...feel so tired but I've just gotta stay up to watch this vlog...really enjoy your videos :)
Shawn I watched this after work tonight at 1.30 am I have to say this is by far my fav vlog you’ve done what a place steeped in history and info and a few rides for good measure got to take Faye there WOW
Glad you really enjoyed it. Nice to see you like the old rides and appreciate the restoration of them. I noticed you were at Carters this weekend just gone I hope you liked there. If you want to see more vintage rides consider Great Dorset Steam Fair - its the 50th year this year so should be extra special this year - you do get a lot of modern rides there as well.
I believe the 1st show wagon you showed belonged to the Lawrence family, which was run by my great grandad Edwin Lawrence. As a family we have loaned the last marionette to dingles, which was used by the Lawrence family
realy awesome there shawn, love all the old rides & nice there is places to keep them well alive. brings back a few memorys when i use to work on some the old styles of rides & the the truck to the last part of the Showmans trailer is the generator for the rides . then once on the road use to mainly tow they living trailer, ,,, great Vlog keep this awesome work going , ya the best ^5
I am going next week to try out this attraction. Been meaning to go for a few years but never got to go. It is definitely on for next week. Also covering two other attractions if the weather holds up. The Milky Way and the Big Sheep. Three days of fun. Taking a two year old with us so should have some great memories made and a little star in the vlogs.
I got to go yesterday to Dingles. It was really good. They have received the grant from the lottery now. All plans have gone through and passed. I was talking to the staff yesterday and one of the main people there was telling me about the expansion. In the area that has the working fairground in they are going to take one of the walls down. The new building is going to be joined onto were they take the wall down to make the area massive. They have more rides to place into the expansion ready. Being able to set the Skid set up again will be brilliant. Work on the expansion starts in around a couple of weeks hopefully they have said.
So cool to see these old rides. Somewhere in October a local museum here has a nostalgic fair with rides as far back as the 1920s. Sadly I can't go because we're in California.
What an awsome place. This is a hidden gem that rocket ride I swear you were about to blast off lol and the ghost train that was more scary than the one's we have today brilliant vlog shaun absolutely awsome 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Shawn another nice vlog how many of the them ride vehicles did you want it your shed I think you would have to cone back with Harry and Charlotte to Devon 5 stars
Great video mate. Will have to visit there next time I'm in the West Country. And why aren't there more super skids around these days. I loved them when I was kid. Used to compete with my friends who could get it to whip the fastest. And don't think you were supposed to be walking around those trucks mate...you could see those plastic chains up near the beginning:D I was actually starting to wonder if anyone worked there until you went on the dodgems. :)
Ugh I’m so jealous. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. You think that’s too far? You should come here to our Fair. I think there’s plans to theme it more in the next couple of years with themed sections and rides instead of just a generic fair.

I swear I went through a carbon copy of that ghost train as a kid here in Canada.
I really wanna visit that place now! It looks incredible!!!!!!!

I had so much fun, thanks for watching!
I really miss going to Dingles during the pandemic ,thanks.
This one has a really nice vibe to it. It really is just an old- school fairground. Really nice

What a hidden gem!
Haven't been to the UK for a couple of years, but this one instantly made it to my UK bucketlist!
Thanks so much for showing us around! :)
15:04 this same carousel was used to operated at Brean Leisure Park (now as Brean Theme Park) from 1992 to 1998.

R. Edwards and Sons Super Dodgems... How cool. Maybe I’m related to fairground people!
Awesome place will be very Sad to see it gone.
I have been there I went on a day out there with my family while we where in Devon for our holiday in 2015
Wow is the correct term indeed ... would love to work there .... absolute heaven .
Great blog Shaun I used to take my father there who sadly passed away this year it’s a lovely place

I Love Rodeo Switchback Organ!
Yesssss love this place.
I love that place, I went on most of the rides.
Hi Shawn, great to see a well preserved classic rides .Shame nearly all noahs arcs are gone now .
You absolutely need to try their Dingle berry pie!
think you need to come here again shawn
Next year!
Hi Shawn could you please please please go to Alton Tower on the 17th August because that’s when I’m going there and I would LOVE to meet you guys there :)
I may be around at the park on this date!
I meant to say the 16 not 17th sorry :(
I just loved this took me down memory lane Noah's ark best ever I used to stand at the bar lol .
Wow my childhood days in the 60s I will visit 👍.
Are you going to the Kingsbridge fair it's on on the 21st to the 28th of July
We're not but thanks for the suggestion
‘I love things like this’
This is where my grandma and grandad live. My grandad is really poorly at the moment. So this will definitely remind me of him.
I hope he gets well soon!
This place should get funding so they can put more rides up and bring back the skid
What is the new camera / set up you are getting ?
Personally I think the GoPro audio is better than your main camera as your voice would always go quiet when you had the camera facing away from your face, where the GoPro sounds the same either way around.
Thanks for the suggestions, the new camera is a Canon M50
Such a pity this place is in the middle of nowhere.
Drive past you'd almost miss it.
If it were more central to the country it would do better.
As someone mentioned in an earlier post all this stuff needs to be in situ at Dreamland Margate.
It would look superb.
I rode that Super Chariot Racer a few years ago... and very nearly fell off lol.
It would be nice if they could theme the hall with the rides a bit more to make it seem less like being in an industrial building.
The easy theme would be an night time theme (which would show off the lights on the attractions). Hopefully they can do something like this if they get lottery funding.
This is what your collection should be come
Hi love your vids!!!when are you next going to Alton towers
I'll be visiting in the next few weeks
What day are you going to be in Weston-Super-Mare ? Would like to pop along and say hi,you can even pop in for a brew if you want.

We visited yesterday and had a great time!
good job man
Cheers!
Will they allow you to stand on the bars on the Noah's Ark like we used to do back yonder?
This looks like fun!
It was a great day out and really interesting!

The best thing to do is contact them via their website!
I remember going there when I where only 6 years old
Now That's My Kind Of Museum
Wow what a great look at fairground history, wow :)
Wouln't mind a £1 for every time he says wow, wow :)
It was just WOW!
That's so cool
I literally went to creally and dingles a few weeks ago I'm so annoyed I missed you 😠
