I’ll have friends hear me playing this and they’ll ask what I’m playing and I tell them it’s Mario and Rabbids and 99% of the time they scoff at it mainly because it features the Rabbids. I love this game. Also it has a pretty damn good sense of humor. The Rabbids does not completely bother me unlike the minions do. I always recommend and defend it in comparison to other typical Mario titles. I beat the main story line the other day and now playing the Donkey Kong dlc. So far out of every Switch game I own, this is the freshest, best I’ve played so far. I know it’s not perfect but damn is it fun and unique. I really hope a second game comes out either in the Mario universe or maybe in a Legend of Zelda universe or something. I love it for taking multiple IP’s and mashing them in a genre they haven’t been in yet.
Breath of the wild: I wish they wouldn't have given me this poo. All I wanted was a good job. Mario Rabids: I wish you wouldn't have told me good job. I would have preferred something tangible, like poo.
I remember on my first playthrough, I would mostly stick with Mario Luigi and rabbid peach. On my second one, I realized just how good rabbid Mario and rabbid Luigi were and I used them a lot. All characters are good in this game.

(After some trailers) hey,it looks kind of fun,I love this jumping mechanic ,this will maybe be a decent game 3.(after whatching a lp or playing it) wow,this is way more in depth than I thought... and it's awesome!
But yeah,the rabbits apart from this game are complete shit... I mean rabbits invasion was kind of alright, but only when it wasn't stupid and annoying which it was most of the time. I kind of like the minions though, but they're everywhere so it also becomes fucking tiring

This video convinced me to pick up Mario + Rabbids as one of my starting titles when I finally got myself a Nintendo Switch last week. I spent my first weekend addicted to Breath of the Wild, of course; but when I finally dug into THIS game today, I found it a quite enjoyable experience well worth the purchase price. For everyone that is pessimistic about it because of the Rabbids (since that seemed to be the general problem), it's a completely respectable way of thinking and we can all agree that many of us thought that way, but at least admit that is a matter of preference rather than the quality of the game.
I don't care how many people call this Mario + Rabbids, or Mario X Rabbids, or even Kingdom Battle, to me it will always be Mario XCOM. (And damn do I love Mario XCOM)
The only reason I can't call it "Mario XCOM", is because I can't get XCOM'd in it with high-accuracy-percentages being given, only to have MISSES. It's... It's almost what defines XCOM for me... or at least the one thing I'll see in my darkest of nightmares...
Back when I was a kid, If you wanted to play some turn based combat on a console you had to play Worms. I look at this as a modern day spin on that genre. I actually like the concept of a mix of franchises. The choice in characters might not be what everybody Wanted, but it opens the door for soooo much. If Lemmings was still a thing, I bet Pikmin would be a fitting crossover. The possibilities are endless, and thats what's important.
Getting to meet Davide Soliani and Grant Kirkhope on the release date was surreal. Davide is a cinnamon roll, too pure for this world, and Grant was like a skinny Santa Claus, just a jolly happy dude.

I love how this game makes the rabbids both funny and lovable just like when they were first introduced. Rayman raving rabbids made them lovable little rabbit things that wants to rule the glade of dreams but are insanely way over their heads. Raving rabbids 2 showed them getting serious but still goofy enough to let them keep their nonsensical nature which made them more humorous. Then TV party actually made them more humorous cause it's ubisoft poking fun on how annoying they've become by making each cut scenes about Rayman slowly loosing his mind as he simply tries to do simple life tasks. After that was....just bad...but this game made me love them again, though it would be kinda funny if Rayman was in the game and shows his phobia of the rabbids after TV party but slowly get past that phobia.
From what I've seen the playable Rabbids seem to be their normal selves at their worst. Rabbid Peach is narcissistic, Rabbid Luigi and Rabbid Mario are self-centered egotists, and Rabbid Yoshi is the true IQ of a dinosaur: 0.
i've never played anything rayman or rabbids related. i know ppl generally dont like the rabbids, this game was my first full exposure to them and honestly i found them hilarious all the gags and cutscenes were great and the dialog for beep-0 and bowser jr was just tops
0:24 Jirard, if you like collaboration games, I strongly recommend you play Project X Zone. It contains characters from Tekken, Street Fighter, Megaman X, Dead Rising, God Eater, and many many more franchises, all in one SRPG. Alternatively, try Super Robot Wars V, which is the first mainline SRW game that got an official English release. It contains mechs from series like Gundam, Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, Full Metal Panic, etc. It's also a fun SRPG.

As a guy who actually liked the Rabbids but was skeptical at the idea of a crossover with the Super Mario series, I can say this game is waaaay better than it should be.
Holy shit that plot is awesome! How do people come up with something this amazing!? And more importantly, how did it become official content!? THAT is like unheard of! Okay, well except for all those other crossovers, but this is definitely the strangest official one.

Man these videos always get me into a weird mood. I really enjoy them and they really make me want to play the games, but they also get me really nostalgic and make me miss the way I used to enjoy games when I was younger.
Despite all the praise this game is getting, I am still sceptical. Not because of the utterly ridiculous crossover that no one asked for (We're still waiting for a proper Mario and Sonic adventure game. Not another crappy shovelware Olympics party game). I have never had any interest in playing XCOM, plus I'm not a fan of strategy games in general. So, I doubt I'd get much enjoyment out of this if I decided to pick it up.
Mark Haynes In all fairness, an official Mario and Sonic crossover platformer has some big shoes to fill. On top of pleasing both fanbases, you've already gifted the world with one of the greatest Mario and Sonic crossovers that'll ever be made, twice.
Mark Haynes This one is very accessible even to non fans of the strategy RPG genre and is simple and fun for anyone I'd say yet it is still deep enough to give fun to more experienced players, Movement is probably the thing this game focuses on the most and it is so much fun to chain slide attacks into jumps in this game! And Rabbid Luigi is a near broken God!
Mark Haynes I've known many people who had no interest in Xcom until I forced a controller in their hands. After a few minutes, they're into it. It looks stupid until you try it. Not that everyone like these style games, but I would recommend trying one before writing them off completely. It's way different when you're in control. Xcom base building itself, for example, isn't actually fun, but the decision making is fun. If you don't have the controller, there's nothing to see. It's the fun of your own internal struggle of deciding what to do with limited resources. Kind of a heavy is the head kind of thing. If you're not actually wearing the crown, you don't feel it.
I really like this game tbh I can understand people saying it’s cringy and I won’t argue with you there but just the way all the fights are and how much planning you have to put for each boss fight makes it really fun

I'm a huge Xcom fan and this was a lot of fun to play! Similiar gameplay with mario and rabbits mechanics and a lot of humor thrown in :)

Rayman raving rabbids made them lovable little rabbit things that wants to rule the glade of dreams but are insanely way over their heads. Raving rabbids 2 showed them getting serious but still goofy enough to let them keep their nonsensical nature which made them more humorous. Then TV party actually made them more humorous cause it's ubisoft poking fun on how annoying they've become by making each cut scenes about Rayman slowly loosing his mind as he simply tries to do simple life tasks. After that was....just bad...but this game made me love them again, though it would be kinda funny if Rayman was in the game and shows his phobia of the rabbids after TV party but slowly get past that phobia.
I wish we could have a Tactics remake in this style.

From what I've seen the playable Rabbids seem to be their normal selves at their worst. Rabbid Peach is narcissistic, Rabbid Luigi and Rabbid Mario are self-centered egotists, and Rabbid Yoshi is the true IQ of a dinosaur: 0.

Rabbid Luigi maintains Luigis cowardice but helpful nature while keeping the rabbids chaotic nature. He doesn't really have an ego like Rabbid Mario

i've never played anything rayman or rabbids related. i know ppl generally dont like the rabbids, this game was my first full exposure to them and honestly i found them hilarious
all the gags and cutscenes were great and the dialog for beep-0 and bowser jr was just tops
0:24 Jirard, if you like collaboration games, I strongly recommend you play Project X Zone. It contains characters from Tekken, Street Fighter, Megaman X, Dead Rising, God Eater, and many many more franchises, all in one SRPG.
Alternatively, try Super Robot Wars V, which is the first mainline SRW game that got an official English release. It contains mechs from series like Gundam, Mazinger Z, Getter Robo, Full Metal Panic, etc. It's also a fun SRPG.

Its not like the whole lineup is bad,I mean Nadesico,Armageddon,Daitarn,Zambot and most of the UC MSG series are mainstays anyway but the rest is just stuff I really have no attachement towards.
Be that the newer MSG series(anything post CC...especially that dastardly Seed that just refuses to die),the questionable Mazinger remake(where the hell is Mazinkaiser SKL anyway?was that ever featured?would be a much better fit with Armageddon),Rebuild of NGE or FMP(which while a fun series just has no place in a SRW game as far as Im concerned).
Suppose Im just getting too old and the lineup too new to still get much out of the series.
A shame really considering that with the recent passing of Excellen even my interest in the OGs pretty much died =/ (as if it wasnt enough that Team ATX has been relegated to cameo duty for far too long).
Still,the complete exclusion of Macross is surprising,has that become a common practice for the series?Kinda dropped out after Z.
As a guy who actually liked the Rabbids but was skeptical at the idea of a crossover with the Super Mario series, I can say this game is waaaay better than it should be.
Don't worry, I despise the Minions too. Though this game looks fun.

Man these videos always get me into a weird mood. I really enjoy them and they really make me want to play the games, but they also get me really nostalgic and make me miss the way I used to enjoy games when I was younger.
Despite all the praise this game is getting, I am still sceptical. Not because of the utterly ridiculous crossover that no one asked for (We're still waiting for a proper Mario and Sonic adventure game. Not another crappy shovelware Olympics party game). I have never had any interest in playing XCOM, plus I'm not a fan of strategy games in general. So, I doubt I'd get much enjoyment out of this if I decided to pick it up.

Mark Haynes This one is very accessible even to non fans of the strategy RPG genre and is simple and fun for anyone I'd say yet it is still deep enough to give fun to more experienced players, Movement is probably the thing this game focuses on the most and it is so much fun to chain slide attacks into jumps in this game! And Rabbid Luigi is a near broken God!
Mark Haynes I've known many people who had no interest in Xcom until I forced a controller in their hands. After a few minutes, they're into it. It looks stupid until you try it. Not that everyone like these style games, but I would recommend trying one before writing them off completely. It's way different when you're in control. Xcom base building itself, for example, isn't actually fun, but the decision making is fun. If you don't have the controller, there's nothing to see. It's the fun of your own internal struggle of deciding what to do with limited resources. Kind of a heavy is the head kind of thing. If you're not actually wearing the crown, you don't feel it.
