    I moved from PA to NC/SC a few years ago. It is absolutely true - everything is slower, and we always comment that the grocery store is so much more relaxed! We absolutely love it and do not miss the snow AT ALL! ;)

      When we are visiting Florida and go to the deli inside the grocery store we are amazed how "relaxed" (ahem slow) the employees are. We move a lot faster up North but tell ourselves to chill, what's the big rush?! So instead, we go with the flow and find the employees are friendly and have time for a little chit chat. It's nice.

    This was interesting and a good reason not to lump New England together. I am in rural NH and we are "slow moving" and talk all the time to the cashiers and have baggers. It is true about sun and cold though. I would love to escape the cold and lack of sun. It was great to hear that it really is not much warmer in Florida than up here. We are humid and hot in the summer, but it doesn't last as long as I hear that it does in Florida.

    I can relate to this video so much ...people told me I would miss winter after moving to FL. I spent 35 years in a cold climate and 100 percent loathed it, so why would I miss it lol. I do much better health wise in heat too. I was also shocked at how talkative people are in FL. I had to go to urgent care and total strangers in the waiting room asked if I was okay and offered me their seats; they showed me as much concern as my family would! That never happened where I came from; you went anywhere and nobody would make eye contact or smile, let alone talk. Just one example of the difference here.

    New Yorker here🙋🏻‍♀️ and the supermarket thing is SO true. I laughed so much listening to this because of the accuracy. I can’t even bag my groceries properly before the person behind me is trying to get me out of the way. Last time I went the guy behind me just put his reusable bags on the floor and dumped all his groceries, flew out. It’s an experience for sure lol This series is so good, guys. Keep doing these👏🏼👏🏼

    As a native Philadelphian and recent Orlando transplant (lived here just over a year) let me just say please take this woman’s comments with a grain of salt.
    Buck County is not a bad place to live and is actually quite beautiful with the farms and spacious homes. How disappointing that this woman is using this forum to trash her hometown. Newsflash - there are nasty & rude people everywhere you go.
    DIS - please do not allow people like this on the show to trash other cities and the people that live in those cities. I couldn’t even finish watching this episode because this woman’s comments were so nasty and untrue.

New account with no content, many errors so I assumed English not first language. I attempted to give Barb the benefit of the doubt because of CoVid restrictions but I received another one this morning. I had requested to be kind but that wasn't enough, ignored bit it returned.

    Honestly, I found it very concerning when your guest repeatedly said people from the north are sad, unhappy, and unhealthy due to the weather in the northern states. That seems untrue and very offensive to generalize that area in that way! Families from that area are watching this show.

    • @dianawarburton7807
      @dianawarburton7807 4 года назад +2

      Thank you for this. You cannot and never should generalize about people. She also said that people in the Northeast are unhealthy. Really.....statistics show that people in the Northeast are far healthier than those in the South. I absolutely love Disney but that is the only reason I ever go to Florida unless I visit my sister in law in the West Palm Beach area and after a week, I long for the charm of the Northeast with it's architecture, towns and family neighborhoods. Luckily our beautiful country has something for everyone.

      Walking with Mellow! Don’t speak for us. I am not offended in the least. I identify with her. A lot of what she said is true. I live and work in NYC. The winters, traffic, commutes, snow storms and yes, people’s attitude does infact affect quality of life. Some people might enjoy this go go go lifestyle, especially young transplants who don’t know better. However, it gets old real fast.

    Born and raised in Philly. I have to say this interview turned me off. I can understand moving for better weather or for health reasons or jobs, etc., or even to be closer to Disney. But she completely trashed the area which a lot of us call home. I've really loved all the past guests and episodes and helpful tips but this one just missed the mark.

    I disagree. The weather is way hotter down in Florida compared to the north east. Yes, the north east gets hot in summer, but it isn’t the everyday “feels like” temperature of 100+ that Florida gets from June-September.

    • @yesorlando05
      @yesorlando05 4 года назад +1

      We've lived in the Boston area, which is the far northeast. Though it is a little bit more humid in FL overall, it really isn't by very much compared to any of the east coast/southern cities during the Summer. The 2 Summers we lived in Boston (2017/2018), it would regularly get into the lower to mid 90's if you were 10 miles or more inland. And it was humid. There wasn't really much of a difference that you could really feel. I love that the outdoor activity season in the South is M-U-C-H longer than the northeast, which my wife and I love immensely. Winters are way sunnnier. We live in the Charlotte area now and absolutely love it. Most of the whining people do about the heat/humidity in the South is a bit overly dramatic, IMO lol.

    LOL "a miserable existence"? Sorry, native SEPA'er here, it's really not that bad. She makes the grocery store experience sound like she's in Manhattan. It's not, guys. It might be gray and rainy a lot, but I still go for walks SMH. Your attitude largely defines your experience, not your circumstances alone. I want to move to a warmer climate eventually, but we've learned to be content with PA right now and create our own happiness. Yes, Pete, the compartmentalized style of housing in this part of the country is not as common in other parts of the states! And the comment "are you writing a book?" LOL But seriously, the misery she describes is SO inaccurate. This interview makes me sad that DIS would allow someone to trash a entire part of the country. It's simply not true.
