I just bought a citrinum orchid that has completely overgrown its pot. The root ball is HUGE! Im so afraid to repot it because I've never dealt with this species before. Any advice?

In general for repotting: Two options... A. Just stick the current healthy plant with its pot in a larger orchid pot with fresh water soaked orchid bark OR B. Repot by: 1. Soak new fresh orchid bark in water overnight so it is hydrated, 2. carefully cut away the pot/basket (sacrifice the pot/basket if needed), 3. gently remove root ball from the pot/planter, ok if you need to cut off some healthy roots that stick to the pot, 4. gently pry out/away the outer layers of old orchid bark and other old media used, 5. gently rinse roots with a hose & tease away old orchid bark, and cut away all dead roots and as you tease the roots loose remove the center old orchid bark, 6. In a bucket mix water with orchid fertilizer into a dilute solution and soak the cleaned loose healthy plant roots for a few hours, 7. repot plant using the presoaked new fresh orchid bark, 7. place plant back in to correct lighting for that orchid. Lots of videos on youtube by other people.

@@sandystp9624 thank you so much! I wasn't sure if I should remove the old substrate. I appreciate your help!
