I am 66 years old and when tv came to Australia i was about 3-4 years old. I remember watching a movie with my Mum and it had a funny man who played the piano, then this very funny man with curly hair like mine came and they broke up the piano and he found a harp. He played that harp and from that moment on I loved Harpo and his brothers who still today make me laugh. RIP to them all.
Harpo Marx was a Jewish gentleman. A great son, brother, husband, father and humanitarian. When he died Groucho cried uncontrollably for hours. Harpo really was the best.
Wonderful large extended family with loving fathers being the foundation and inspiration for the children, grandchildren, siblings and all people who watch and listen to their stories.
Harpo was a wonderful person and comedian. I never knew that he married late in life. So wonderful that he and his wife adopted so many children. He was a loving father. Groucho seems to have been a tough father on his children. Groucho was also a wonderful comedian. Chico was a wonderful father and comedian. He had a great life and loved his family. All of the Marx brothers were genuine geniuses, great comedians. We need more of them in this world now days
And I’m still laughing... Never could there be another like them. The most incredible collection of characters in one place at one time. Talented in every way imaginable. So much off the wall humor and boundless energy and imagination. All you had to do was to look at them and the smiles started and moved on straight into laughter. They covered every base with their personalities. Totally separate and different yet so cohesively one unit. The Marx Brothers.. Groucho, Harpo, Chico. From childhood to manhood, I still love and adore them for all the endless laughter they brought into my life. I am so grateful they will always be a part of our lives. Long live the Marx Brothers....
Interviewer: Could there be another book (of your letters)? Groucho: There could be, yes. But a good many of my friends are dead. It's very difficult to correspond with somebody who's dead.
5:33 Melinda Marx singing a number from "No Strings" (1962) - a musical composed entirely by Richard Rodgers - following the death of his famous collaborator - Oscar Hammerstein II.
Interesting they spoke of Harpo's painting & yet not of the 7 instruments it's said that he could play I know only of piano, harp & clarinet...I do wonder what were the other 4...anyone?
@@AceripXF (I am "needing" some Chico today. Glad to "see" you again, also). Don't forget they did "know" each other in the fact that they were both famous people. They both had "people" that could run interference for them if needed.
Miriam's story about the dog and the pots was great - she definitely took after her dad. You can tell that all the Marx children loved their fathers.

Minnie Marx was gorgeous.
This was really sweet! I'm glad they avoided the trashy gossip tone a lot of similar documentaries might have gone for.
Liked Harpo but liked them all as performers, funny, interesting to hear their children tell their story about their famous dads.
