This was actually a very positive video for the mac gaming world as it's seemed to have been pretty sparse for us mac gamers these past couple years. Thanks!
I just adore your videos, love your voice, how you talk. Nobody comes even close. Thank you for what you are doing for us❤️ EDIT: You forgot “Rune Teller” native Apple Silicon game on steam. It is combination of Witcher, Zelda and Dark souls in low-poly graphics, huge open world and also supports multiplayer, controllers work great..love this game
With unreal engine 5.2 now running natively on apple silicon expect more mac games in the coming years. A game engine this widespread now running on bare metal is huge news.
There are some huge games missing. Hades. Hollow Knight. Braid. These are not only some of the best games for Mac but some of the best games on general
Just bought a few of these Games on Mac. I want my Games to be native Arm64 Builds so this Video was very helpul as you can't really see if the Game is native on the Steam Page or on the App Store.
You’ve been my source for what games to play next on Mac for a while, thank you for that! ☺️ Prodeus looks interesting, I’m surprised I haven’t seen this one before. Will need to give it a try. Also, it is interesting you say the Last Campfire supports controller, because I couldn’t get it working on my M2 MacBook Air, I didn’t even have the option. 🤔
@@MrMacRight Sane thing here on The Last Campfire on Ventura 13.3 and a PS4 controller - the game does't seem to detect it. Not sure what's up. Works in other games.
I think I know what it's about. It's after having had Steam open and the controller being on that something makes the controller not being detected in other games. If you make sure Steam isn't running and disconnect the controller from Bluetooth (can use the menu in the menu bar) and then turn it on again so it connects back to the Mac and then launch The Last Campfire it should work to use in the game. Not sure what Steam does that ”hi-jacks” the controller like this, but it's pretty annoying.
@@staraffinity in my case, I downloaded from the Mac App Store, which says there is controller support, but when you actually get in game there is no option to play with controller. I think it is missing from the Mac App Store version. 😑
As always so happy to have new content from you. My favorite game Mac Game on that List is currently Humankind and the funny thing is I tried to give it back as it did not work well with Rosetta but at that moment the M1 update came out what a wonderful surprise :) But thanks to your list I have more apps to discover now. I wonder if they collaborate with Apple, because they need help or because Apple wants to have feedback on Game porting as they see potential here :)
Written March 28, 2023 Nice work buddy! Resident Evil: Village is a huge boost for Mac gaming. Also I heard No Man’s Sky for Mac will release Winter 2023 thanks to a Reddit user saying Apple posted that on their new Mac Mini section in their website. That lines up with my prediction as well as Apple saying it’ll release in 2023. Hopefully it’s true
@@LiLBitsDK Written June 3, 2023 Well that’s incredible!!! I heard that HG is going to release a Mac App Store version this year from a RUclips commenter since I guess that’s the steam version that can be played on Mac that released June 1, 2023. Strangely Wikipedia saids the iPad version of NMS released June 1, 2023 too yet I can’t find it on the store or via articles online. Maybe the iPad version is the one that will release Winter 2023 since Apple said indirectly it was also coming to ipad thanks to the M chip
Would love the likes of UBOAT, conflict vietnam, conflict desert strike 1 and 2 and other single player campaign war games to come out and be able to play on my mac mini m2 pro. Tried playing UBOAT through the Whiskey app and crossover. The game would run but once in the game would constantly lag and freeze :(
I'm happy with the games available on Mac, but that is also of course that i'm neither into hardcore fps nor multiplayer games in general anymore. For those who want the latest CoD or BF game, Mac isn't for them, but if you still enjoy older titles, or are more on the strategy side of the game specter, Mac has more than enough games available now, and releases in the future.
Hungry for MacOS Apple Silicon games here. I've been searching for native games and trying games in game porting toolkit with Whisky and Crossover etc. My dream is for Apple to create an Nvidia RTX 4090 and RTX 5090 rival that makes everyone rethink gaming on MacOS. One can dream.
I play FM23 and have been playing the game since 2002 on different cpus. But fm23 on the mac mini m2 is fire! No loading time at all with 5-10 leagues activated
thank you so much for making this list, I appreciate it! travelling soon and planning to use my Mac to game on the go. I don't like gaming on the switch as the screen is too small for my liking.
well No Man's Sky is out now for Mac... and I must say it runs insanely well... 50-60 FPS on my M1 Air at 1680x1050 resolution on all high settings... you can run it on ULTRA but I only have 8GB on mine and it is a 7 GPU core model... I did NOT expect that... wonder how it runs on the 19 and 24 GPU core models... would love to see that... but it looks great and the fps is plenty smooth... slap a controller on, kick your feet up and have fun (great game, got like 800 hours in it on PC and 3-400 hours on playstation)
Sims 4 is missing from this list - no kidding it runs better on my M3 Max than my i7/4090 PC because the M3 Max gives more cache. And if you look beyond non apple silicon but yet native macOS games - the list gets even bigger! Stellaris, HOI4, Cities Skylines and many more banger titles run extremely well via Rosetta (almost near native performance)! Funny because I just played HOI4 for 3 hours on my MacBook before watching this video - I’m surprisingly playing a lot of games exclusively on my MacBook rather than my top tier gaming desktop. It’s convenient as I can play on my bed and couch, and boy is it snappier. It takes my PC a minute to boot and get everything setup - but thanks to apple’s seamless wake feature, I just slide my lid open and get into gaming… my lazy ass loves that!
@@wuvyyyyy you can - and the battery will still last longer than windows laptops being unplugged… and you won’t take a performance hit like nvidia and intel gaming laptops - but it’s not recommended as you’ll wear your battery fast. You also won’t get the 15 hour battery life. More like 3
