Hi. Emma, I want to thank you for this video. I Followed all your tips and my son who was already eager to walk at 7.5 months started waking independently at 9.5 months. He’s so happy for being able to walk. Thank you again!
Thanks so much for this video! I agree with the section about holding the hands while guiding them to walk. My mother in law was adamant about it and would do it when she visited so that’s fine! I don’t do it, so she get to enjoy it when she is here a couple of times a week. I also live in Canada where walkers are illegal. And for good reason. I use heavy laundry baskets and wheeled push toys to help there from time to time. I’ll watch the next video with your trusted activities! Thanks for all you do.

My baby started walking first steps last week of ten month. He is active baby and like moving a lot. He also likes to interact with people and discover things around him.
I learn so much from your videos. Usually things I didn't think were a thing. Like, I wouldn't have thought to keep a baby in socks and shoes. Up to a point, they're decorations. My Boy only wears shoes to parties right now. So, not often.
I have been holding my daughter's hands sometimes but for the most part if she is practicing standing I hold her just above her hips so she can wiggle and find her own balance. I have also noticed that she has responded very well to lifting her chin up so her neck is straight. This has helped her immensely find more balance as before she did not know she had to lift her head up even though she had plenty of strength to do it. Lol I think I'll take her socks off more now and see how she does. Good tips! Thanks!
Due do my ADHD and the sensory processing disorder that comes with it I hate socks. I only wear them with shoes. Even if it’s cold, my feet are rarely covered inside. Therefore, my daughter (8 months old) doesn’t wear socks inside either. I think she should be able to feel textures and explore and If I’m being honest, if my skin feels like itching with socks on, can’t imagine how her sensitive feet feel like.
I want to do the same but it's now winter here m worried about him getting cold but will keep on trying he sat at 3 and crawled by 5 months now he is cruising on furniture
What do you do instead of holding their hands if that's what they're used to you doing for them? What is the next step for them after learning to cruise along furniture?
We all eventually learn to walk, right? You don't see a 15 y/o holding his mom's hand walking around with friends 😂 If he's hitting other milestones & in good health, I wouldn't worry too much. My little almost 16-moths old daughter decided she only wants to "walk on the knees" - at first we managed to encourage her to walk with a pusher or if we hold her under her armpits, but now she refuses any of these and instantly curls up her legs when we try to pull her up :( She basically "runs" on her knees - she is really good at it and can move easily, but how to encourage her to walk? She stands and climb just fine.
My son rise up on his feet only at 15 month and walked independently at 18. We did make a bit of phisyotherapie because he steps inside and we all are a bit tall.
My niece did the same then your kid. There is nothing to do, your daughter will walk when she is ready. Don’t force her it might slow down the process. A trolley is not gonna change anything, since the balance is not the same with a trolley and walking.

Of course, there were many falls and failures, but that is to be expected. She didn't get discouraged, because I didn't react when she fell. Just let her get back up and try again. Before she turned 9 months, she was walking on her own several steps.
By the time she was 10 months, she was walking the full length of the house, with no help, and having a ton of fun doing it!
Thanks for the tip. I'm noticing you have to harness their curiousity to get the best results. This is low key a great trick. Now to find some boxes she can reach for...
@@kiefershanks4172 start saving all those diaper boxes! They were my daughter's favorite toy for the longest time.
My baby is 11 months old and he is still moving on his tummy only ,not sitting on his own yet.
Can I use Walker for my baby so that he learns to sit and walk
Use a bambi sit
And if barefoot isn't possible; just use barefoot-shoes - second best. Also as adults we all should wear them as the healthier choice.
Thanks for sharing!
Do you have a brand to recommend (for adults)
@@bettycooper369 I only have "Wildling" shoes. I found other brands to be too narrow for the toes. And Wildlings are stylish, they use mainly natural materials, poduce locally and have also some fair shoes. It's a European brand, though. I don't know where they ship there stuff to...
@@bettycooper369 and they have also toddler-sized shoes, kids and adults.
@@PhoebeJaneway I would love to buy some for my children but unfortunately they are very expensive. For toddlers whose feet grow so fast it's not affordable...
Thanks Emma your videos always informative and helpful ❤just took of gis shoes and sock immediately
I'm glad it was helpful!
Hi am watching from Ghana my 8months baby is already walking and am so happy
Amazing!
Well this makes me feel better that my son is almost 12 months old and doesn’t own a pair of shoes lol.
😂
my baby Ashley feel but tired
From waking
Sooo babies are all like Toph from Avatar? Awesome 😎
Hoping my 17 month baby walk soon he barely stand on his own if i put him to stand he will cry like
How's he doing now?
@@nahidamedjaouri2076 he can't stand on his own yet
WHY would you push them at such a young age??? They'll walk when they're ready, they'll potty train when they're ready. These milestones are NOT for your convenience!!
Hi Valerie, if you watch the video you'll notice this isn't about pushing them at all 🙂
My daughter is 17 monts (2 months prem)
She will only walk with her plastic push walker or cruise on furniture.
She really lacks confidence walking unaided.
Any tips on confidence building?
@sittieainorguro2716 she doing well now thanks. She is walking now, her feet grow from just under a size 2 to 2.5 and that seems to really help her balance. She just needed a little more time then average. Shes nearly 2 but still the size of a 9-12 month baby.
Hope your little one is doing ok.
allowing your children to overcome life's challenges all by their self is something a lot of mothers don't know how to do, they always want to coddle them
.. What?
I don't want him to smack his head. Wtf am I supposed to do? Be neglectful?
@@makaylamoran3287 Let pain and consequences of their own actions be the teacher, you don't have to micromanage every little thing they do
Why are babys supposed to walk earlier? This time being different for each and every kid...not all are the same
Yes, but this video is about avoiding the things that can make babies walk later.
Thanks David! That's exactly right - It's not about pushing them at all, just removing things that might be holding them back and making learning to walk unnecessarily difficult
❤❤❤
Im making wrong strategy all this time😢...i always make my baby wears shoes in and out of the house.. that's why until now shes not walking on her own...17 mos to be exact..still cant walk on her own..but she can stand and jump while in her crib...
My mother wanted me to hold my baby’s hands to help him to learn walking but I didn’t do it. My baby is now walking at 9.5 months old! 😊
Hey boys watch this video
You are a safe
ينصر دين الاسلام 😂👏🏻
Maybe we need to reflect a little on WHY we want these things. What on earth is the benefit of a baby walking "sooner"? Is there a race?
Hi, I’m not sure if you watched the video but it’s more about avoiding things that make walking more difficult for kids than accelerating the process
@@EmmaHubbard a more accurate title would be helpful. Our entire family has late walkers/early talkers - for generations (and, we prefer it that way). We did all of the things recommended in this video. Much of child development is genetic. The pressure to accelerate everything is unhealthy. Children do things in their own time.
@@annai157this, I saw someone else comment that they had their kid walking at 8 months like I’m sorry that’s a little to young there’s no way that their legs can support them in any way
Oh no!🤦♀️
We use a walker on the back porch otherwise our 8 month old will crawl around and eat chicken poop. I don't know what else to put him in.
He's at the stage of EVERYTHING goes into his mouth. Dirt, leaves, rocks, chicken poop, aspen shavings.. ugh.
I have to get my gardening done and feel all the critters.
We have also been holding his hands to walk for months. 😅😮
