We raised our last bullmastiff from a puppy and she was a wild woman until 2 and then she became the most gentle, sedate bullmastiff. Wonderful breed who are ideal with children
I wish I'd discovered the Bullmastiff 20 years ago. They are such great dogs. But at 70, a dog that size is more than I feel I can handle. My 60-pound Goldendoodle is a handful for me some days. But you are correct, Home Depot and other pet-friendly stores are great places for socializing. I love watching Tua videos.
As a family that had a French Bordeaux mastiff pitbull mix, that got 2 chihuahuas when we had him, before he passed away, he was full of energy not a lazy mastiff 😂 he loved everyone too. Now we still have the chihuahuas and have 2 frenchies siberian husky and an English bulldog American bully mix. And this house is insane 😂 wouldn't have it any other way honestly. Now just to add a boerboel to the mix and the house will be complete
Beautiful dog … i have kept bullmastiffs for 22 years they are an amazing dog my first one(ozzy) lived to 10 years he passed away from prostate cancer my second dog ( tank) was 12 years old he passed of old age as i had him neutered as soon as he was old enough they were amazing on the lead and great with children and so easy to train such a loving dog breed
Spot on, as usual =) Walking lumps after they settle down usually btw 2 and 2.5. Taking them on regular walks will help with any issues, a pack building/follow moms rules walks. Great video.
Thanks! I've actually been pretty surprised with how many times I've seen people confused about their young BM with high energy. Not knowing that it's regular young dog/puppy behavior
Put bag balm on his nose to fix the dryness poor boy. Mine faces that too especially in the winter. Bag balm 3 times a day for a 2 weeks usually fixes it
Tua is almost 3.5 and not neutered. I still go back and forth if I will or not. The vet says it can lead to prostate problems down the road to not do it. At the moment it's just something I discuss with the vet once a year at his annual checkup
Thanks for all the videos. I'm stuck between the BM and Italian. BM definitely would fit in with my household more but I wonder if they would be as good of a guard dog . Thoughts?
I'm assuming you're talking about a Cane Corso? From my understanding there a little bit more intense overall and energetic. Maybe a little more standoffish with strangers. As far as bullmastiffs go, part of their guarding abilities go off of intimidation alone. People that don't know Tua are very unsure of him because of his size. A 170 lb dog staring out the window of the front door at you is more than enough to be a guard dog in most cases 🤣
My cane Corso just passed in September, I can tell you cane Corsos and bullmastiffs have the exact same guarding ability. But cane Corsos are athletes and males are very high energy, they have to be doing something all day. They need lots and lots of exercise and they aren't for the inexperienced owner. Mine lived to be 12 and he was the security in my store. I'd take him for 2 2mile walks every day and play for an hour and exercise for an hour every day. If you follow the joint stuff between puppy hood until about 2 and ah half 3 years they should be fine. Bullmastiffs and corsos love to please but the best way I can compare is the cane Corso is like like roided up stuck on 10 linebacker, and the bullmastiff is the cop ready for retirement lol. Both will be your best buddy, both will want to be with you 24/7, the bullmastiff is more stubborn but in a funny way, the cane Corso will take over if you're not a strong leader. But that also means you can't be mean and hit them or anything as both are very intelligent and sensitive dogs and they don't forget who, how, and when you pissed them off. A Corso can be a severely dangerous dog in the hands of someone who's not used to their energy and power and is inexperienced with training. Bullmastiffs in the last 50 years have been bread to be companions over working dogs, cane Corsos were bred to be attack and working dogs and are still new to the American market. That's the difference.

Sounds about right!
My bullmastiff is now 14 months and she's still got all of her puppy energy and I'm here for it
I’ve just got out bullmastif, Cooper 4 weeks ago! We love him and love your videos! All the way from Scotland! 🏴 keep up the good work!
Wow all the way from Scotland is crazy! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Also good luck with your pup!

Ya their size can be a bit much when young and energetic. Maybe you could find a 4-5 year old mellow one for adoption one day. Never know!
Tua is awesome.
Most of the time 😉
Nice rugged dog an interesting name for that breed of dog MUGSY 👍

Not all bullmastiffs are the same
Some are super active and some are less
Put bag balm on his nose to fix the dryness poor boy. Mine faces that too especially in the winter. Bag balm 3 times a day for a 2 weeks usually fixes it
I do but not as often as I should because he absolutely HATES it for some reason
I've had to put bitter apple on afterwards and just watch. He might have allergies and it makes it act up too
I have a bullmastiff whos 2.5 year old.but just wanted to know should i get him netured or keep him natural?what are your thoughts?

Tua is a big teddy bear
Pretty much! 🤣

That NOGGIN!!!! What a good boy! Good information.
Thank you! People almost always seem to comment on the size of his head 😂
Lmao that is the most untrue ridiculous thing in the world is do not let a puppy run around and be a puppy due to growth plates growing not true
